Why is that? Double decker trains, especially for international use like London - Continental Europe is extremely inefficient. If you would say a single car version they just aren’t that capacity efficient than the likes of a self-contained unit like the Siemens Velaro. Back in 2010 Siemens was offering the better train in standards by ease of maintenance, great reliability and performance and high capacity with no narrow diaphragms or inter-circulation bellows.
@@westy6214 The Alstom Avelia productes range also builds single-level, distributed power trainsets. The Avelia Liberty is at 1 level and the successor to the AGV and Pendolino still exist in the catalog.

Bruv..these apparently have traction motors rated at over 1000kw each...WTF!!. The average EMU has probably around 200kw to 250kw. This is insane lol
under LGV 25kV 50Hz AC yes, under 1500DC "only" 400kW per traction motor.
But what when they use third rail 😢

373s are back on selected services between London and Paris, along with a return to Brussels. They were only withdrawn because of Covid

No they stopped services from Ashford and ebbsfleet because of the pandemic but they still haven't reopened services from those stations

The Avelia Horizon is a better alternative for replacing the 373 than the Velaro

Hence why Siemens were selected. If you aren’t happy with the interiors blame it on the Italian design company that did it.
