40:22 You can keep returning otawara with wrenn and bouncing tamiyo to get back time walk. Easy win with initiative assuming mana crypt doesn’t kill you.
And eventually you can ultimate wrenn for more time walks, so even without initiative, one could hypothetically go infinite with those cards and 10 mana.
That’s one of the small reasons wren is good in this deck despite no fetches, the ultimate is particularly strong with time walk. That and the otowara and pinging make it playable. Plus the random lands from cycling, surveil, and whatnot.

The stolen bow masters play was the grossest thing I have ever seen.
Went straight to the comments on that one. Only cube has these kinds of interactions. Oko > Time Walk > Steal Bowmasters > Wheel of Fortune, make a 7/7, wipe your board, draw 7 cards. Doesn't get any better than that.
Put Walking Ballista into play.

Walking ballista coming in with 3 counters for exact lethal was pretty cool.
"Tails never fails" LSV used to say, rarely losing a flip as a result. But no more!
Ah but you need to mix up your strategy otherwise your opponent can exploit how predictable you are.
Tails is just broken, it forces the opponent to react to you instead. I do like heads for the mind games though
LSV idk if you noticed but at one point you had W6, otawara, and tamiyo. Otawara can target your own things, you had infinite turns. Otawara your tamiyo and replay it, get back time walk, plus W6 to get back otawara

5:00 I just don't understand why you'd pick Elvish Spirit Guide over Regrowth when you knew that the Matrix was glitching and you were opening a Time Walk in pack 3.
Plus he’s had more time walks in the last 10 drafts than all other power combined😂🤣. It should be assumed that it’s coming, and he knows it subconsciously too, remember that early breeding pool pick before any blue?🤔😂
Haha, I was literally thinking he should take Regrowth, just in case of any Time Walks.
I really can't wait for the "top 10 time walk decks" compilation. At 10:37 I was really expecting the "any time walks" joke but for once there wasn't a few seconds delay lol. Such a fun draft to watch, keep em coming

I love Standstill, it's such a solid representation of a bygone era of the game.
Standstill is one of those cards that is insane when your ahead. Imagine like turn 1 ragavan, ur oppenent doesn’t have a one drop, and then you play standstill…. Doesn’t the game just end?

Time walk combos with literally anything that gives you any sort of advantage. What is better than a ponder? Why a ponder and also untapping all your lands to cast whatever gross thing you drew!
No Minsc and Boo in your Temur Time Walk/Planeswalkers/Beats deck? What a disappointment!

I have watched these videos since the beginning, and I was going to write a long (yet funny) post about how lsv never takes garruk yet always beats it but it's never up for cutting considerations. And how he leaves it in the cube to beat up green players. Then today he drafts it and it looks like a banger... the simulation is getting lazy indeed

I wonder, how good would Mana Crypt be if it didn’t have the flip but just always dealt 3? Would it still be in the top 5 cards? What if it always dealt 2? What is the sweet spot, for non-coin flip shenanigans?
I feel like it kills people as often as it wins them the game already. 😂 So with automatic damage I feel like it would still be a top 5 card because "free" brown mana is just that powerful that it makes hands without it "feel" unplayable

I love seeing lsv try all these cards like misdirection that are all cusp cards. I've had misdirection in my cube before and found it to be not great but maybe it's better now!
Tom got lucky once, lsv got lucky 3 times. All of these starts were insane.
"What's your Llanabase?" is a good why to ask what mana elves you are playing.

I’m starting to seriously believe that Time Walk is actually too OP for even Vintage Cube.
Are there any other cube cards that would still be playable if added 3 mana (one colored), like with time warp. Really shows how OP it is.
Like concentrate as an instant would be boardline, that’s the equivalent for ancestral.
