The fact that you're working 5 days a week and still have time to work on the bike, edit the videos and do all the other crap associated with adulting is inspiring.
Can't wait to see the finished gyro.
This is what really makes it amazing.
maybe what he meant was that he works 5 days a week on this bike xD
Never use the word adulting
@@JP-iu4vz we use the word adulting now.
@@JP-iu4vznever cry over something that isn't even as bad as spilt milk.
This is awesome, frickin excellent solution. When I was younger I thought about having regenerative braking installed on a motorcycle used to spin up some gyroscopic wheels to keep a motorcycle standing up at traffic lights or alternatively ran off a battery for longer periods of balance. I always wondered how the actual mechanism worked, now here you are actually making it on a fantastically designed unique motorcycle. I'm here for it
Man that's an awesome idea...
Tom stanton has made a video on that exact idea, check it out :)
They do make vintage styled lights that work off the bead of the tire as it spins to make it light up. If somehow you had a bearing to get it spinning when you stop it could keep the light on idk. Maybe one way bearing
Grind hard plumbing TH-cam channel making a custom bike on 40s
It’s like watching iron man make his first suit
Are you that easily impressed?
This is impressive you’re just too dumb to comprehend how sick this is
Him and the other guy need to race
@N1GhT0FtHeW0Lf dude it's the akira bike, hell fuckin yeah
@@nothere1734 more like a batman bike but ok
There absolutely has to be no slop in that steering set up, any slop no matter how tiny will cause a delay in responsiveness. I learned that lesson many years ago with a crash. I don't know what you have for a steering ratio between those two sprockets but that might need tweaking? Another issue which you may not be able to do anything about is the width of your handlebars. I know you have limited space inside of your cab but the wider those bars are the easier your steering control will be. Good job on tackling the rake and trail problem 👍
Seeing as work lets you tackle personal projects, I'd say get those brake drums on the lathe- clean the surfaces up and get them both to the same mass.
They're probably only a few grams difference now but when they're spun up in a system together that could work out to a major force imbalance.
This. The primary balance of the gyroscope needs to be spot on.
Bloody ripper to see more Kiwi home engineering on utube. Love your videos.
There was some vaporware company making a Two Wheeled Enclosed Vehicle with a Gyro
(instead of the landing legs, or training wheels as someone i knew called em upon me showing them a video lol)
Glad to see someone actually go about making one! You earned yourself another subscriber, I’m excited to see how this turns out!
same company as the one that had the little fold down training wheels actually, they made the second version with gyroscopes
Probably thinking of LitMotors. Not quite vaporware but not much better. They've gotten millions in funding and produced nothing after 10+ years. Being all electric, those gyros suck a tremendous amount of juice.
@@matus1976 Didn't the guy use the gyros for regeneration as well?
Anyways, I think DOT has a thing against enclosed motorcycles. No company has ever succeeded in marketing one in the U.S., ever. Every company I have seen has hit this wall.
I was impressed before you decided to build your own gyro. Keep at it! I love to see you problem solve. Loving it from Alabama, USA.
Randomly recommended this video, pretty cool! As far as the idea for using gyroscopes to help keep your bike upright, you may want to read about the Brennan Monorail, a design from the early 1900s which used gyroscopes to stay upright. You'll need to be able to introduce some control into the gyros' rotation outside of the influence of gyroscopic precession, or your gyros won't just stop you from falling over, they'll stop you from leaning over when turning.
That's Super Cool that you are listening to the Comments and actually attempting to throw the Gyro in the Mix!!!!Keep up the Great Work Bro!!!!!
Man that's some awesome stuff your making. Doesn't hurt working in a machine shop but the parts you make at home blow me away
You absolute legend, mate! I recently saw the gyro video mentioned and prayed to the gods of motorsport for a Hero to arrive.
It was cool to learn about the gyroscope. I always thought those were used to see if the girl you met at McDonald's was a succubus, sent to drain your life-force, or just a nice girl. The bike is awesome!!
I have no words...
@@justicesicklesright? Like what
I don't know, maybe it's a Southpark reference.
Should we send help?
I had a run in with a succubus on the east coast and she nearly grabbed my life force. But I used the Absalon factor and escaped her. She got me with her cabbage patch kid and my little pony and troll doll collection. And always whispering sweet little nothings about her original atari 2600 and pitfall. STAY AWAY FROM THE SUCCUBUS!!
Great to see the adaptation throughout the process, and courage to push forward on something outside of your comfort zone! I can't wait to see this thing rip!
That gyro is looking so good Dan! Amazing how much work you get done in your free time, do you ever stop? Keep up the good work
I actually watched that mono rail train vid 2 mths ago, very intresting and worked well.
Keep up the great work DK
I love your tenacity. The gyroscope is a great idea. On anxious to see it completed.
I love the way you tell us everything, positive or negative and include the decisions for the changes. Keep going!❤
Can't wait to see how this goes. I saw that train video when it came out and thought it would be so cool to see that in action. This whole build is just beyond cool already, awsome work!
this reminds me alot of the lit motors C-1 from over a decade ago, I was excited to see their design being tested and looking like it was going to be real then nothing ended up coming out.
Following for what comes in future from yours!
I was literally typing out a comment to point out Brennan's gyro train when you mentioned it on-screen. This will be super cool! Git 'er done!!
The video you referenced was really interesting. Im going to watch the next part of the build. Cheers!
YOUR A STRAIGHT BEAST MY FRIEND !!! Please continue this project to the end !!! SUCH A GENUIS !!!
Ecomobile enclosed motorcycles just use a central counterweight system with dampers to lower the center of gravity, and to act as a center of mass shifting system for controlling lean both in and out of turning. Something similar could be done though it may require an active motor-driven closed-loop control if you don't want to spend many years trying to find the best ratio of mass-shifting to control inputs at a variety of speeds.
This is really cool! The gyroscope seems like it will need a complex control scheme for it to work properly. The balance angle is only 0 degrees at low speeds. At high speeds you need to lean and you don't want that gyro to fight it.
was so excited to see the update. keep it coming
Yes, my friend, show your work
I've been sketching designs for a feet-forward motorcycle with fully enclosed cab to use in a videogame, but I didn't know that one actually existed! this is very cool, and shockingly similar to my sketches
Can’t wait for the next video! Awesome work man
Hey DK, the production of your vids are getting better and better and your humour rocks...cheers
That Battie going to be really fast
Can’t wait for next episode
I just saw this, but to me this is not a "Bat bike" for me this is the real life Extreme G bikes, or the moto terminator, that is completely amazing, Keep it up buddy, awesome build
Wow the timing of this is so perfectly in line with my current interests that it's as if this is divine inspiration!
Great work! Never stop being Awesome!
that gyroscope mech reminds me a lot of that single track train!
Same here
Yeah, it's mentioned on the video, how about watching it all before commenting obvious stuff?
@@GeomancerHT I am very sorry officer. It was late when I stumbled over the video... I had to skip through here and there.
Hey remember that mono rail train, it reminds me of that!

MAN this is just like an ExtremeG motorcycle! This is really cool! You need to get this painted ASAP. I'm looking forward to see the end product. Once you get this done you could look into the other models.
Awesome channel mate. Sing out if you ever need an extra pair of hands on any projects. Tonnes of fun still to be had here!
I always dreamed of a bike like this existing. Thank you for your creativity and making dreams come true!
This is fascinating and every video shows more creativity. Can't wait to see how well the gyro works.
Awesome work, the gyroscope design is next level!! I watched that monorail train just recently too
Man i wish i was smart enough to fully grasp the concepts of what youre doing, this is really cool
New Zealand: dude luv yur content man and the humour just about made me shit my pants from laughing to much and I'm old yeah must be old age thing😬and all the crack-up funny clips at the end had me pushing the sub-hell yeah brother. i don't get in my work shop much these daze😂and yeah i luv watching you young fellas creating awesome builds, cheers man
reminds me of the Tron bike from the 1982 film, amazing job!!!
Haha, “…this thick, cause it’s lying around”. Such a cool project!
When I was a kid, we would rent 3 wheel trikes on the beach called Fun Cycles that used pivot steering where the front wheel and most of the weight pivots the direction you want to turn instead of using handlebars and the rear wheels stay flat on the ground. I feel like allowing the main body to pivot inwards into the direction you're turning would provide added stability. Sort of like how you steer on a bicycle when you're riding with no hands.
You should absolutely tack a chain tensioner on there, as that will constantly preload the chain and remove slop even as chain wear occurs (which may happen if regular maintenance isn't done)
That stuck foot scene killed me 😂
loving the videos brother, im stickin around to watch ya pass 500k subs. keep her goin mate!!!!
You'll get there with your project mate I quite enjoy watching your videos I haven't watched too many but I intend to stay safe and have fun
after your last video i was thinking Gyroscopic balance is gonna be the only way ,, feel like i shoulda commented then. good vids man keep em coming.
I just love this channel! The content, the humor 😂 It’s just fantastic! 👍😀
Only just found your channel and this is some awesome stuff! You’ve earned yourself a keen subscriber!
Fix the gyroscope to the tilt when it reaches a Cervantes speed, so its turning in the corner and not try to be straight while steering
Subbed! You’re super smart man! Keep it up!
There was a guy in the early 1990 I think he was in Portland Oregon U.S.A. he built gyro-stabilized two wheeled vehicle out of a Honda 400A it was on the cover of a motorcycle magazine. I think they called it The Road Hawk. After they where done with it they put the bike back together and my little brother bought it.
Crazy build !! All this makes me think one thing : 2 wheels vehicules where driver can't lean sideways might actualy have the directional wheel at the rear instead of at the front... In addition of not creating centrifugal counter effect, it would probably be very enjoyable to ride, with an important drift sensation...!
Just came across your video great work brotha
You got a cool bike and an even cooler place to ride it!
Hmm, I've wanted to build a gyro stabilized "trimaran" so it doesn't keep either side ama's in the water, because that slows the boat down very significantly. In a vehicle with wheels however, not much at all. so add a third wheel is so much simpler.
Regarding your steering chain, ditch the chain and use some gears. A chain works great when it only goes in one direction. Looking forward to see how the gyro works.
that scary movie reference got me rolling 3:00
Just got recommended this channel (and this video) and great stuff.
That's awesome."Extreme G" series almost seems like to become real.😯
I’m so happy you took my suggestion. This is epic!!!!!
Like the gears between the two motors / mounts fantastic great work 👍 looking forward to seeing 👀 bike 🏍 going at speed and slowly 🐌 down a long winding road proper Batman 😀
You are funny and brilliant, this is something I have always wanted to do
Mueahahah, love your humour man! Well worth the extra effort you put in to add it
finally getting the views this project deservers. nicely done.
You need to have the gyroscopes located in the bikes center of gravity or some where close. If you want to see how to possibly do it, look up those new radio controlled motor cycles. They use gyroscopes to balance it
Daredevil and a mad scientist keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you do next
Just brilliant mate... I think it would be a good idea to set mechanical limits to your gears to that they don't turn too much as it happened in 13:51
Maybe skid rollers would help stop the skid plates pulling you to the ground when they drag. An inrush capacitor might help w the gyro motors spinning up faster
Great, my day is shot. Now I have to watch 1-10 of this playlist.
I am glad that you saw my tag and will pay attention to the blogger who is engaged in gyro stabilization
I tell you what it's not often I subscribe off the first video I see from someone but that thing looks sick!
Bro ur actually inspiring one day I wanna be able to build stuff like u do
That is awesome. Never seen one of those before. Was thinking you could put some pegs at the end of the teeth pieces so they can't over extend
very nice. there are a few 2 wheeled cars out there that are like from the 50's? that use the gyro to keep the vehicle stable. you might end up having to add 12 inches of length to your build and having the gyro sit low under your legs or something.
I saw a week ago something similar in the one-rail gyroscopic train video, i think it might be useful for your project.
I love this build! good luck with it
Thankyou ! I hope I can get it to work
Another great video and very educational .. I watched the last video with the train stuff for the gyroscope hmm I think your on the right train of thought there...
Bros grinding get up is legit af😂
if the plastic gears dont work maibe you can use parts of a flexplate and the starter gear ring
if the circumference of the flexplate is too large you might be able to just use the starter ring and heat/ bend it into the right circle
interesting way of building the gyro , had seen the same video about that single track train and was thinking on how to scale it down , looks like you managed it just fine
do remember that the gyro in the train gotten changed a little as it started to oxcilate in certain situations they added an airpiston system backed up by a pendulum to push against the gyroscopic force to help it straighten up if it was to oxilate side to side
Looks awesome! You should take a look at LEADING LINK SUSPENSION. A 1966 Honda CT90 k0 has LEADING LINK SUSPENSION that is what you're headed for...
such an incredibly simple mechanism that uses nature to perform what would be very complicated in digital control systems.
Awsum progress !!! I'd been thinking about the leading Link front end on the speedway sidechair after your last video......and about the gyro I wandered if you planned to balance the drums ! Keep up your Awsum project 😉😎
You also will want to space the gyros further apart with a larger gear connection.
Lol love the hair cut with the multi tool😂
You know how far to extend the frame if you're still thinking of under/in front of the engine. Those drums are pretty huge though. Maybe if they work too good downsizing to smaller lead wheels will fit easier. Cool.
An idea, you can make a power steering system, basically when you add couple of pully acting sprockets for the chain in the steering system, should work well
Can't wait to see how that gyro works out, subscribed.
Dude this is a bloody epic build!!
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video
I’m very interested in your gyroscope build, truly awesome and very curious to see how your bike performs with it installed
Very cool project
you making that gyroscope actually made me subscribe, that thing looks complicated!!!
Mount the gyroscopes on the same axel as the rims of the vehicle! With a hub motor spinning it this would be awesome! So would swapping to two front rims!
That could change the game bro luv ya thinking 🤙
man you never notice how much edits matter til you look at a vid like this😭😭 i was so intrested until i seen the edits omg
Nice Bike!
I LOVE this machine! What a BEAST :-) Nice job!
Great Effort Mate......hope it works the way you want it to......Brett
