Dan Barrett was really going through some shit when he made this, his dad died, and man it just adds so much weight to this album. Knowing all of these sounds and lyrics are coming from a genuine place of despair.
It’s rare that a long player is able to keep my attention but this album was one of those few that actually kept my attention for the majority of it a truly dark but beautiful album definitely one of my favourites glad someone else appreciates the abstract beauty of this album
Its crazy when you think about how many people this album has helped, especially those who thought they were all alone with their thoughts and feelings. It somehow makes you feel like you are not alone and also shows mentally healthy people where thats darkness dwells.
AYY haha I'm so glad it was another one of your favorites!! Also The Glow Pt. 2 is literally my favorite album of all time. I love everything from The Microphones and Mount Eerie. I think I'll make a video talking about it sometime :)
you just became my fav music reactor, and not only because you did a reaction to deathcons, but cause it was also great and very relatable, you're good at reviewing music, and also you have top tier editing i'm fucking dead lol this is the perfect album to close off a year, and say fuck off to everything
the colour tones you chose for holy fucking shit are so on point lol. serene purple hue, nauseatingly chaotic yellow, and ending with an exhausted grey. love the video bro
So glad to see you dig it as much as I do, defs my fave album of all time, I don't love is my fave song ever. I wish I knew more people that love this album as much as we do irl :( Coz you love this give their second album a go and definitely don't miss "lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor (if you haven't ;)
Dude your videos are so fun. I love your honesty and positive outlook on the things you choose to review. Deathconsciousness is my latest obsession. I can't wait for the vinyl to come in the mail. It's this album that led me to your channel and I'm stoked to see what you do next. P.S. you mentioned being recommended a lot of these albums so if I may: Passive With Desire by Choir Boy is one of my favorite albums and I think you would really genuinely enjoy a first listen
thanks for listening to one of my favorite albums, it was fun to watch you hear black metal records, hfs40k and deep deep for the first time. you should check out the body's album no one deserves happiness
And the full song by peste noire "j'avais rêvé du Nord" this without any exaggeration is the best track i have ever heard in my entire life and i will never hear anything better.
Hey you seem like someone with really cool music taste, you should check out the self titled album by "Sprain" or the "contemporary movement" album by Duster
Listened to the sprain album and its great man. How did u even find it? I see that u have amazing taste in music so do u perhaps have any more recommendations?
@@im-just-a-goatlol3133 To be honest, I don’t remember how I found it! A lot of my favourite songs just kinda appear one day and man I love music so much. I’ll recommend a whole bunch here: If you like longer post-rock, i absolutely love "Born into trouble as the sparks fly upward" by Silver Mt. Zion, "Enjoy Eternal Bliss" by Yndi Halda, and "Golevka" by The Evpatoria Report. I think these albums are really worth listening to for louder or more upbeat songs, "Come In" by Weatherday, "Giving Birth to Thunder" by Indian Summer, and "You power the Sun" by headcold are amazing If you wanna try something a little new, "Impossible Animals" by ROAR, and "Still" and "Still Bummed" both by Nouns are really interesting (The song "Dustin" by Nouns is also a reallly good long and loud song, it’s one of my favourites but on none of those two albums) Sorry, music is my biggest hyperfixation so I get excited when asked for recommendations, that would also explain why it’s so all over the place. I hope you find something else that you like
@@muwin8585 i love u for doing all this man ur amazing have a great day ill try to check everything out truly thank u. U seem like such a fun and chill guy
damn bro i love how open you are bout your emotions, good ahh reaction. if your gonna be reacting to the classics i reccomend The Glow pt 2 by the microphones, VDC by sweet trip, n Some Rap Songs by earl sweatshirt, 3 of my all time favs
You should listen to either giles corey's self-titled album, the unnatural world by have a nice life, or below the house by planning for burial next. All of those are exceptional and are pretty close in tone to this record.
I recommend download spiral by Nine inch nails, I don't know if you have already listen to it, but it's worth especially, if you want another nihilistic thematic album experience, which is both dark, haunted, a bit soothing sometimes, and it happens to have a really good opener and closer too (also a song literally called closer but yeah)
You've been on a roll with these album reactions, love em. For shoegaze, I'd recommend these albums; My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Sweet Trip - velocity:design:comfort. OR You Will Never Know Why
@@snowy6301 I feel like you would love Sweet Trip based on your taste. Very underrated band. Their sound is a mix of shoegaze/IDM and glitch. velocity:design:comfort. has more glitch in it and more experimental and You Will Never Know Why is smoother/more chill with no glitch. Both albums are masterpieces imo.
Spiderland is actually a really great suggestion because I haven't heard it before, so that might be on my list in the future! I'm also definitely gonna do more AnCo as well :)
tbh earthmover is one of the best songs ever made
And that's a fact.
not even the best by hanl, i would say trespassers w demo version on youtube is better
The big gloom>
@@ГлбКотенко is that song by have a nice life? I cant find it anywhere

also his girlfriend left him, but she came back into his life again in 2011-12 i think

Absolutely :)))
I’m so impressed that you listened to the whole album in one sitting
It's only an hour
i listened to it twice in one day before i wrote a review for it
it's not a race, y'all. shut your mouths.
I listened to it like thirty minutes ago, shit rips!

Listen to Giles Coreys self titled album it was made by a member from Have A Nice Life and it is so depressing.

My favorite album. So beautiful and powerful. Always happy to see more videos about it, and this one is really well done! Good shit man 👍
There's nothing beautiful in it.
the first time i listened to earthmover i was deeply moved and needed a moment to process it afterwards
i LOVED ur reaction, i felt every second of it. thank you for understanding the art.
