Say all you want about Cassie's character but I honestly find some comfort in her. She's messy, backstabbing and a self destructive person with a face of an angel. It's just a perfect projection of a person I could've been but chose not to. Everything Cassie did, you just gotta remember that she's been dealt a bad hand in life and the consequences of her ugly choices. I love Cassie. I wish she had more better support in life.
It’s crazy how he ignored her all day but when night rolled around he would booty call her. Whole time she was a booty call not even in a relationship until he deemed it acceptable and she was too blind and brainwashed by nate to see that. Honestly I feel like she is a victim of Nate and the end result is the product of what he made.
I love Cassie’s mom. She calls Cassie out on her bullshit but still loves her daughter and her friends. It’s like an “I’ve been through all of this myself and I’m going to be honest yet still Love you, but I also can’t make your decisions for you”
even as a woman, tbh if someone like sydney was in a high school every guy would be drooling at her and chasing her like crazyy she's just that attractive nobody would not notice someone as attractive as her pass by them
I’ve seen girls like Cass who are drop-dead gorgeous in terms of appearance, but so insecure that they almost never “get picked” or being considered as a girlfriend material. The solid point is that personality is something that could make you hella attractive and vice versa
Most men stay away from such girls. Generally, insecure people make the mistake of thinking that they cannot keep or satisfy such an attractive girl for a long time.
Didn't need to read this, some of us girls don't get to be 'that attractive' or even attractive AT ALL and have to live with men or boys hating us rather than chasing us.
@@morgang9729 that’s not true.. pick the right guys and try to establish a mutually good relationships where you both do something for each other I’m sure you’ll find someone amazing☺️👍
I think people hate Cassie because there is something in her we either see in ourselves or have seen in ourselves. It’s embarrassing to be a person like this. Even Maddy had some Cassie in her and now she’s taking steps to healing. Everyone starts somewhere. Doesn’t excuse the behavior of Nate or Cassie but having empathy/understanding despite not agreeing is super important. (This applies to Maddy as well because she was betrayed the most by this situation)
Given her growing up and family circumstances is there any wonder she ended up like she did in season 2. McKay fcked her up big time with the abortion and the way he handled it.
I dont hate her because shes insecure, I hate her because she slept with and dated her best friend's abusive ex and then acted like the victim. Especially in that bathroom scene, though it wasnt real. Like, oh, i waited three whole weeks before sleeping with him so thats okay! And when she had to keep repeating that "they broke up, they broke up so its okay"... Her own mental health issues are not part of why i dont like her. that part i can relate to.
Her mental issue are the explanation WHY she did what she did , she needs consequences but genuine help too , like yes what she did was vile and a nasty betrayal and I definitely understand maddy , maddy being upset is valid but damn her mom and lexi should've helped her yk ? She needed therapy to be better and actually could have prevented this
Literally this the only reason why people hate her. It had nothing to do with her own mental issues. That can be sympathized with but not her hurtful actions…
@@ShaelynnFockler08I'm not excusing her actions, but babe, this doesn't hold up. Doesn't matter how severe your mental health are. It doesn't change the fact that mental health issues 100% contributed to her cheating, betraying, and becoming crazy obsessive--as it does for MANY other people. Doesn't mean she shouldn't face the consequences of her actions, but it is an explanation to her behavior and something she can work on in future. It isn't about whose mental health is worse, it affects everyone differently and comparing is brining awareness to no one.
@@citruscentedNobody said the word “crazy” but you. as someone with BPD i agree with the original commenter 🤷♀️ a lot of the scenes were veryyy difficult for me to watch because it just hits very close to home. both disorders are incredibly similar - I can agree that she could have HPD, but who knows
@@Splatria I also have bpd lol. A lot of cluster b disorders overlap in symptoms and behavior, but it's a common myth among the general public that girls with symptoms of personality disorders, or girls who act "crazy" inherently have bpd. it's all over the place when people discuss euphoria characters, particularly the girls, and to me it reads as a lazy dismissal rather than a genuine attempt at understanding her character.
@@citruscented People with BPD often act histrionic and erratic when it comes to their love life. Cassie’s biggest fear is being alone and rejected, hence why she’s so desperate for attention from boys and acts almost manic for them. Nobody is calling her “crazy”, seems like you’re the one stereotyping people with BPD.
Girl I don’t even know what to say I’ve never related to a character more In my life. And it’s complicated and confusing and frustrating like you either get it or ya don’t, but her being treated like shit by everyone including Maddie btw having no dad a drunk mom, and being called a slut for existing is bound to fuck you up.
Wow, she really is such a great actress. She really did well at playing this role. Such sadness and pretending she’s ok, and confidence and motivated to do that self-care, and angry, and it’s like she believes, but then half believes that she didn’t do wrong by her best friend Maddie, by dating her ex. 💖 I really like the actress playing Cassie even more now, after rewatching this lol.
Her character is terrifyingly relatable. Not only regarding her obsession with nate, but only the high standards she has for herself, the intense emotions, the overthinking, the perfectionism, the helpless. The whole concept of trying to look perfevt and change yoruself, but unable to adjust to changes. Everything. And on top of that, shes completely alone with the demona in her head. And when it comes out, when her mask cracks everyone just judged her. By far my fav character and i love how Sydney Sweeney performed.
for as awfully as euphoria is a representation of high school + drug use, cassie is a great representation of someone who has BPD and parts of her this season were written beautifully so, if that was the intention or not, i’ll never know. but that’s just my opinion as someone who suffers from BPD
Cassie was fucked up for doing what she did to Maddy, then acting all innocent and like what she did wasn’t wrong. But there’s no way she is a more garbage person than Nate. No way. Edit: 6:17 This scene is such an amazing performance from Sydney. I have to admit I probably would have quit watching Euphoria already if it wasn’t for the amazing acting from the cast and the beautiful cinematography.
What shocks me about this generation represented in this show is the multitude of excuses & blame attribution they’ll saddle others with in order not to be held accountable for their own terrible choices & negative behaviors. Cassie, may suffer from more than one mental health issue, but she is still the person who is choosing the actions that lead to dire consequences for herself. Trust this - she is toxic enough on her own, and really didn’t need to use Nate as an excuse. They both are in need of intervention & counseling separately. Kudos to Sydney Sweeney for doing an outstanding job playing this character. Cassie, with all her complexities, is NOT an easy character to like or root for on this show. Yet, because we’re allowed to see how far she keeps on falling without her own desire for self preservation/survival kicking in, surprisingly, we want Cassie to be okay at the end of the story.
I don't hate Cassie at all. What I get from her character is she pretty much lost her mind between her dad walking out and men disrespecting and casually molesting her since she was young. She doesn't really have a moral compass it's kind of like her method of self harm She keeps going after guys wanting to believe they caring loving person they aren't....she can't see herself as someone worth protecting ..... "She fell in love with every guy"
What people fail to realise is that Cassie is still taking time to get over her abortion. And let us be honest. McKay made her feel like shit for real. She always felt insulted in her relationship with McKay. So, you know, we cannot blame Cassie completely. Ofcourse the way she chose to do things should have been more thought of. But we cannot call her a bad person. The thing is, if Cass did Nate, Nate did Cass too. 🤷♀️
I never hated Cassie I felt sorry for her. She’s literally driving herself insane over a guy who is fucking with her (mentally and emotionally) and using her for sex and revenge because he’s a narcissistic psychopath. And she’s so affection and attention deprived that she soaks it up and mistakes it for genuine love and care. I think the reason so many people found this show fascinating is because they know a Cassie in real life. And because it’s morbidly fascinating to watch someone emotionally and mentally self-destruct because it makes them feel better about themselves and their own problems. This show is fascinating and a psychology goldmine. I could sit for hours and analyze the characters and why they do what they do 😂😂😂
I actually didn't hate her character. From the start she screamed mentally unstable to me. Lexi on the other hand is the kind of character I don't like, she went out of her way to humiliate her sister and then acts goody-goody, girl just admit you wanted the attention.
That scene from nate ' s dream sequence, Pregnant Cassie kisses Nate that was so sweet. Honesty Jacob & Syney look so good together. I wonder whay will happen in next season 3. I love to see nate & cassie end up having a happy family. But everyone says it's Jule & Nate in season 3
Looks like Cassie had BPD. I was diagnosed with BPD a while ago and can recognise my before therapy version in her. You, guys, have no idea how deep the wounds are and how impossibly much in hurts. Cassie fits the profile : abandonment issues, sucking you out loneliness, severe lashing out episodes, vulnerability and feeling that you cannot be loved, so you stick to anyone who gives you a little attention. Also dysfunctional relationships. I have so much empathy for her. Poor girl
I truly have sympathy for all Cassie, Lexi and Maddy. I feel like the shit that's going on, especially with Nate and the 2 out of the 3 is pretty intense.
To any men here thinking that women hate niceness in men - Cassie is like a female version of a nice guy. Niceness is not the actual problem here, insecurity pushing you to do things that are against your values thinking they will make you good enough will.
I used to sing Sinead at the top of my lungs just like this... Minus the pink swimsuit thing. I love hearing her voice and seeing her get some air time
I love this show because I feel a kindred spirit to this character. Not knowing her potential, following/being best friends with Maddie. People react to “events,” in their way. Having big boobs in the moment, being an “out,” for deviant characters, and just wanted people to l i k e me. Have a great relationship with my dad, and couldn’t say no to ppl. Wanting people’s attention that were clearly passively aggressive narcissistic. (They’re the victim for me existing) I just hope, that people see, that people come from different lives, and try to understand why they do that, rather than just criticizing and assuming weak characters.
I love how he’s putting all the blame on her when it was HIM that initiated it 😂 yes Cassie is also accountable but he made the first move. Cassie would’ve never even seeked out Nate in the first place if he just left her tf alone
It’s actually insane how deeply layered and complicated Cassie’s character is yet we ALL know a Cassie in our lives.
I think that is evidence that her character isn’t deep at all. Just a caricature of a woman out of Sam Levinsons pedophilic wet dream

There’s a tiny bit of Cassie in all of us, let’s all be honest
We’ve all had Cassie moments because of our personal Nate.
No I would never screw my bestfriends boyfriend sorry
Nope
Nope the pride I have would never let me. And it has saved me from a lot of bs
No.
Who's "we all" 😭
that play was so messed up.
It’s pretty sad that she tries to look her best and put on make up, and all that just to get Nate’s attention, but he just doesn’t care
Therapy in euphoria is a Legend told to Kids.
I like to think all the normal kids in the background are in therapy and living their best lives
I love Cassie’s mom. She calls Cassie out on her bullshit but still loves her daughter and her friends. It’s like an “I’ve been through all of this myself and I’m going to be honest yet still Love you, but I also can’t make your decisions for you”
this is so cathartic to me. reading the comments as advice to myself
when cassie seems so relatable🙁
even as a woman, tbh if someone like sydney was in a high school
every guy would be drooling at her and chasing her like crazyy
she's just that attractive
nobody would not notice someone as attractive as her pass by them
I’ve seen girls like Cass who are drop-dead gorgeous in terms of appearance, but so insecure that they almost never “get picked” or being considered as a girlfriend material.
@@morgang9729 that’s not true.. pick the right guys and try to establish a mutually good relationships where you both do something for each other
I’m sure you’ll find someone amazing☺️👍
@@anastasiasmhw7506yeah but those insecure girls wouldn't even try to look good, they would try to hide... Cassie doesn't...
(This applies to Maddy as well because she was betrayed the most by this situation)
not really. i dont think you have to relate to a character deep down in order to hate them.
@@maefromnitw maybe you haven’t had this type of traumatic experience before
Lmaooo lost it when Nate was like “WHAT THE FUUUCK” like his brain just exploded
I literally fucken died when he did that 😂😂😂
Cassie’s routine is what I feel like when I have to wake up a 1/2 hr early & I decide “ugh I guess I’ll put on mascara”
Given her growing up and family circumstances is there any wonder she ended up like she did in season 2.
McKay fcked her up big time with the abortion and the way he handled it.
I was crying when he said "Maddy" instead of Cassie....
Cassie is crazy but at the same time I can relate to her at some point because I can easily be obsessed with a guy I like
Girl, get some help
I dont hate her because shes insecure, I hate her because she slept with and dated her best friend's abusive ex and then acted like the victim.
Especially in that bathroom scene, though it wasnt real. Like, oh, i waited three whole weeks before sleeping with him so thats okay! And when she had to keep repeating that "they broke up, they broke up so its okay"...
Her own mental health issues are not part of why i dont like her. that part i can relate to.
Finally a comment that doesn't excuse her actions 💀
Her mental issue are the explanation WHY she did what she did , she needs consequences but genuine help too , like yes what she did was vile and a nasty betrayal and I definitely understand maddy , maddy being upset is valid but damn her mom and lexi should've helped her yk ? She needed therapy to be better and actually could have prevented this
Literally this the only reason why people hate her. It had nothing to do with her own mental issues. That can be sympathized with but not her hurtful actions…
@@pinchedabino fr like I’m someone with severe mental issues but I would never sleep and date my best friends ex
It isn't about whose mental health is worse, it affects everyone differently and comparing is brining awareness to no one.
i DIED laughing at 3:37 it’s so funny how Nate’s like “oh what the FUCK”
she always been my favorite character
What i like about cassie is how she can get up and do her beauty, skincare routine . Not in it to impress a guy . Curbing late nights
cassie is pure BPD
disagree. her symptoms point to histrionic personality disorder.
not every "crazy" girl has bpd.
@@citruscentedYeah, I have BPD and the problem is symptoms overlap. So no one can know what is going on with her.

Yet, because we’re allowed to see how far she keeps on falling without her own desire for self preservation/survival kicking in, surprisingly, we want Cassie to be okay at the end of the story.
i could never hate her
I didn’t like Cassie this season but bro am I worried for her.
I love Cassie
The fact that I know I would've related to her in the past💔
No but her sister literal did put on a play made to embarrass her🙈
Cassie did it to herself
@@TAsia-z5l doesn't matter what she did, putting on a play to humiliate ur sister n then play the victim isn't cool
I'm so happy to see people agree that what Lexi did was so messed up. Like why would you do that to your sister??
@@AtaliaCandiabecause Lexi is jealous of Cassie.

Very good show, the best in years, cassie is superb actress❤❤❤❤
Not this triggering my BPD making me remember my last relationship. Screaming! 🤣🤣
"What the FUCK is WRONG WITH YOU?" Something.
HELP, SHE'S literally me in my episodes, the same with the girl in the craft, or Effy, that's so sad to relate..
I love Cassie, I was Cassie and a little bit of rue. I was very insecure
I would literally treat cassie so good 😢 I will treat her like a princess
Ugh, why? Women like her are emotional vampires. And notorious cheaters
thank you for leaving out the apple alarm sound 😭🙏
Tbh Lexi did her DIRTY
Woah I’ve never seen this show but that end creepy trying to smile mirror scene reminded me of the scene in thirteen
I could sit for hours and analyze the characters and why they do what they do 😂😂😂

at least she was taking care of herself
January 2025 and can’t wait for season 3 to drop 😮💨 I just can’t believe Angus Cloud is no longer with us. So deeply tragic 💔
I actually didn't hate her character. From the start she screamed mentally unstable to me. Lexi on the other hand is the kind of character I don't like, she went out of her way to humiliate her sister and then acts goody-goody, girl just admit you wanted the attention.
I absolutely love Cassie, and I wish I could hug her.
Poor girl
Her getting tangled up in the balloon strings is her getting tangled up in nates strings
1:28 Zendaya really is a giant among women 😂
Overrated.
Cassie is the bast actor I've ever seen in my life!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I truly have sympathy for all Cassie, Lexi and Maddy. I feel like the shit that's going on, especially with Nate and the 2 out of the 3 is pretty intense.
I love Cassie. I feel like we've all been her to some extent with some toxic guy, at one point in our lives.
Her sister and her mother should've helped her instead of standing by as she fell apart, poor girl
I hope cassie becomes a better person and less insecure throughout the show. Perhaps gets therapy or something
To any men here thinking that women hate niceness in men - Cassie is like a female version of a nice guy. Niceness is not the actual problem here, insecurity pushing you to do things that are against your values thinking they will make you good enough will.
i dont think u know what mania is.
idk some scenes were very reminiscent of me in a hypo manic state
Seems pretty spot on to me, I mainly struggle with mixed episodes but the pure mania sheeeeeesh no thank you 😂😢 sucks feeling like that.
I used to sing Sinead at the top of my lungs just like this... Minus the pink swimsuit thing. I love hearing her voice and seeing her get some air time
The best character in the show
The anxiety of excitement
I love cassie she was the best on the show 🤍🤍
What happened to the sweet and innocent Cassie from Season 1
I think when she had the abortion, that was her downfall
I love this show because I feel a kindred spirit to this character. Not knowing her potential, following/being best friends with Maddie. People react to “events,” in their way.
Having big boobs in the moment, being an “out,” for deviant characters, and just wanted people to l i k e me. Have a great relationship with my dad, and couldn’t say no to ppl. Wanting people’s attention that were clearly passively aggressive narcissistic. (They’re the victim for me existing)
I just hope, that people see, that people come from different lives, and try to understand why they do that, rather than just criticizing and assuming weak characters.
Mann! Maybe her being with Nate isn’t a good idea 😳
I think your right
Pretty much anyone being in a relationship with Nate isn’t a good idea 😭
Yeah, maybe NOT going out with an abusive person would be a good idea
Nate is trash 🗑️
Cassie:I don’t care how mad maddy gets
*proceeds to run away from maddy when she finds out about her and Nate*
I love how he’s putting all the blame on her when it was HIM that initiated it 😂 yes Cassie is also accountable but he made the first move. Cassie would’ve never even seeked out Nate in the first place if he just left her tf alone
