i mean, theres a reason the nate stuff wasn't in the play. I think what probably happened is that theres a more charitable version of the play that was a first draft, before cassie started acting out, and lexi added the orgasm horse and narcassism stuff later. You can sort of tell by the better choreography that the original play was more of a 'day in my life :)' thing thats just a bunch of lighthearted ribbing of her loved ones. I think the more scathing critiques were tacked on later. for example: she even puts in something about rue being her best friend, even though that hasnt been true for ages.
this take is completely lacking in any nuance. lexi *absolutely* did her loved ones dirty by publicising so much of this without their consent, however this situation isnt black-and-white. lexi is using her art to share her story - *her* story - as she's the "observer"; the backbone of her friend group who's left to bear the brunt of all of their drama, without ever being allowed an identity of her own. she isnt sharing these details about cassie's life to humiliate cassie, she's attempting to communicate how cassie's self-absorbed and messy actions have greatly-impacted her psyche through how she's constantly neglected and put on the back burner by everyone in her life - usually for the sake of propping up cassie. likewise, while the punishment doesnt always fit the crime, this *is* karma. she threw away her friendship with maddy, all so that she could shack up with maddy's abuser (who maddy was in an on-and-off relationship with, and was talking about getting back together with). when confronted over this, she tried to cast doubt on rue *BY USING HER ADDICTION AS A REASON WHY SHE'S NOT TO BE BELIEVED, IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERVENTION FOR RUE'S DRUG ADDICTION* and then refused to come out and speak with maddy when maddy was begging her to share her side of the story and at least answer her questions. these arent just a string of mistakes made by a messy, desperate teenager; these are deliberate, stomach-churningly foul behaviours that she and nate had practically gotten away with up until this point in the show. furthermore, the clear-intent behind lexi's play was to showcase all of the bad *and* good in her relations, in her attempt at exploring adolescent relationships (as demonstrated through her handling of rue and maddy's characters, as well as the critiques she levies against her own character). this process is *incredibly* common in creative mediums - an artists best work is through their experiences, and you'd be surprised how 1-1 many of these retellings are. cassie missed this, because (as lexi presents her in the play) she is an innately self-absorbed person who - instead of reflecting on the past - responded to her sister's version of events by growing defensive at critiques on her character and immediately resorting to throwing vile insults at her sibling... as well as her primary motive for reacting like this; the "dissolution" of hers and nate's relationship. as an older sibling, whilst cassie had every reason to be enraged by this, i would at least *try* to look inwards at myself and reflect on why my sibling felt their childhood was dominated by neglect in favour of me. suze's response to her portrayal embodies the antithesis of cassie's reactions - she received on of the most unfavourable portrayals of the whole cast, but (instead) she took it on the chin and applied it inwards to see past her ego and attempt to understand what lexi was actually trying to communicate through her writing. cassie's actions *both* seasons of euphoria are the literal definition of "weasel" - she's constantly hurting the people who *truly* show her love in favour of receiving validation from those who dont care for her, and she does this by stabbing the ones who love her in the back without even doing so in a manner that would allow them to find out for themselves. then, when confronted, she cries and plays the victim without any regard for the people who are victims of her or showing even a shred of accountability. cassie being forced to face all of her bad behaviour publicly is *INTEGRAL* to her personal development, because she needs a huge dose of reality and (as we've seen throughout the show) she will duck responsibility every step of the way when the other characters try to discuss issues with her in private. quite frankly, it does *my* head in when people engage with *TEEN* media about *MESSY, TEENAGED* characters and refuse to approach the drama-presented with nuance, empathy and the understanding that most of the scenarios presented on the show are going to be very grey in their morality. there is no "right and wrong here"; lexi exposed some embarrassing details at the expense of her sister, meanwhile cassie spent her entire life bulldozing through any-and-everything at the expense of her sister. suze defended lexi because she was a massive propagator of this and clearly began to realise this when she witnessed first-hand what a mess she'd raised cassie to be; she didnt downplay cassie's feelings, she literally just tried to de-escalate the situation, get cassie to stop humiliating everyone (including herself) and allow lexi her one moment in the spotlight. this didnt mean she stopped having cassie's back - she was gentle and compassionate to cassie all throughout trying to get her to come down, and she even snapped at maddy for cussing at cassie, despite cassing throwing the first punch. cassie deserved to finally be confronted with her shittiness in the form of this play (cheating on mckay, sleeping with maddy's abuser behind maddy's back while theyre still on-and-off, being a sucky sister, her victim complex and refusal to acknowledge her wrongdoings when confronted in private), lexi deserved to be called out for her judgemental and vindictive delivery in front of her audience and experience (for the first time) the consequences all the other characters bore for their actions while she was silently judging them, and cassie deserved to get her shit rocked for all of the chaos she'd caused alongside assaulting an innocent actress who (likely) barely had any idea that the role she was embodying was meant to reflect cassie. moreover, this is a tv show - it's incredibly dramatised. it's just cathartic to see one of this season's main antagonists finally go down... hopefully being called out in a way that she cant victimise herself any longer will set up for a redemption in season 3 (...that is, if we even get a season 3). tony stonem probably didnt deserve to get run over in the ending of season 1 of skins, but he was ascribed that punishment because he's a character who'd spent all of the show menacing everyone and acting like a tit, so the showrunners made his comeuppance as grand and dramatic as possible for the sake of the audience who have had to suffer through his behaviour for so many hours. cassie's downfall is no different
Can we give props to Cassie's mom for being so positive about being portrayed so unflatteringly in front of so many people like that? We need more people who are that graceful about being parodied.

Everyone keeps saying how much Cassie deserved this, but I think they are wrong. In my opinion, both Cassie and Lexi are in the wrong here. Cassie got with her best friend's abusive and manipulative boyfriend and then lied to her best friend about it. Then she let Nate basically destroy her because she thought he loved her as much as she loved him. She was spiraling all throughout season 2. Lexi on the other hand, didn't deal with any of that, but she was watching it happen. So she decided that instead of doing something to help her sister who spiraling out of control, she would make a play about her sister and complete humiliate her when she was feeling like shit. The fact that Cassie and Lexi's mom found nothing wrong with Lexi's play is huge red flag too. In the end, there are no innocent parties. All parties involved with this are at fault.
The play was showing how close they where before they got spread apart. And seeing it maybe hope for bringing them all together again. It's not hard to see unless you look behind the layers. Lexi never hated her sister, she said Cassie was smart and more in the beginning

Only in America does a school play with minors turns into jerry springer and profanity at each other giving little regard what spectators think and feel
Cassie was irresponsible in a lot of ways, as were Maddie, Kat, Rue, Jules, etc, but I also feel for her here. For a long time, I thought Lexi was cool, but more and more she started to show this air of superiority. Even when she was talking to Fez at the season start (whom she supposedly liked), she did it with this pompous "I know everything" attitude. Her airing everyone's dirty laundry only to cry and act embarrassed when she got called out on it made her so twofaced IMO.
Say what u want about Lexi but nobody knew (in the School) that she was talking about Cassie… A lot of people saying “she is humilliating Cass” but nobody knew Cass was Heather till she get on the stage. She needs to be the main character always and Lexi just show to her sister the attitude and consequences her behavior had
For one i hated that rue snitched cuz she was being cornered. Basically if she gets exposed everyone is too meanwhile those people were there to support her. And then to add to her pain cassies own sister makes a play about her family’s drama because her life is dull asf so she lives through them.
That’s the thing with drug addicts they are selfish and do whatever it takes to get them what they need and in her case she wanted to leave the intervention because she didn’t want help. Lexi putting the play on wasn’t ideal and I understand Cassie being hurt it’s humiliating but the whole point of the play was for Lexi to have that voice since she was always observant constantly being in the shadows. To me the only good character that I liked the most was Ethan he was less toxic and not a manipulator or a gaslighter, he a real one.

as an older sibling, whilst cassie had every reason to be enraged by this, i would at least *try* to look inwards at myself and reflect on why my sibling felt their childhood was dominated by neglect in favour of me. suze's response to her portrayal embodies the antithesis of cassie's reactions - she received on of the most unfavourable portrayals of the whole cast, but (instead) she took it on the chin and applied it inwards to see past her ego and attempt to understand what lexi was actually trying to communicate through her writing. cassie's actions *both* seasons of euphoria are the literal definition of "weasel" - she's constantly hurting the people who *truly* show her love in favour of receiving validation from those who dont care for her, and she does this by stabbing the ones who love her in the back without even doing so in a manner that would allow them to find out for themselves. then, when confronted, she cries and plays the victim without any regard for the people who are victims of her or showing even a shred of accountability. cassie being forced to face all of her bad behaviour publicly is *INTEGRAL* to her personal development, because she needs a huge dose of reality and (as we've seen throughout the show) she will duck responsibility every step of the way when the other characters try to discuss issues with her in private.
quite frankly, it does *my* head in when people engage with *TEEN* media about *MESSY, TEENAGED* characters and refuse to approach the drama-presented with nuance, empathy and the understanding that most of the scenarios presented on the show are going to be very grey in their morality.
there is no "right and wrong here"; lexi exposed some embarrassing details at the expense of her sister, meanwhile cassie spent her entire life bulldozing through any-and-everything at the expense of her sister. suze defended lexi because she was a massive propagator of this and clearly began to realise this when she witnessed first-hand what a mess she'd raised cassie to be; she didnt downplay cassie's feelings, she literally just tried to de-escalate the situation, get cassie to stop humiliating everyone (including herself) and allow lexi her one moment in the spotlight. this didnt mean she stopped having cassie's back - she was gentle and compassionate to cassie all throughout trying to get her to come down, and she even snapped at maddy for cussing at cassie, despite cassing throwing the first punch.
cassie deserved to finally be confronted with her shittiness in the form of this play (cheating on mckay, sleeping with maddy's abuser behind maddy's back while theyre still on-and-off, being a sucky sister, her victim complex and refusal to acknowledge her wrongdoings when confronted in private), lexi deserved to be called out for her judgemental and vindictive delivery in front of her audience and experience (for the first time) the consequences all the other characters bore for their actions while she was silently judging them, and cassie deserved to get her shit rocked for all of the chaos she'd caused alongside assaulting an innocent actress who (likely) barely had any idea that the role she was embodying was meant to reflect cassie.
moreover, this is a tv show - it's incredibly dramatised. it's just cathartic to see one of this season's main antagonists finally go down... hopefully being called out in a way that she cant victimise herself any longer will set up for a redemption in season 3 (...that is, if we even get a season 3). tony stonem probably didnt deserve to get run over in the ending of season 1 of skins, but he was ascribed that punishment because he's a character who'd spent all of the show menacing everyone and acting like a tit, so the showrunners made his comeuppance as grand and dramatic as possible for the sake of the audience who have had to suffer through his behaviour for so many hours. cassie's downfall is no different
It clearly shows that cassie was always a self centered mean person, she deserved more than this play
Ok but what did Lexi expect making a play out of their literal lives and trauma
I heard a guy saying "cry me a river." 🤣
Then of course “show us your boobs” lol
Always the men
Lol "thats racist"
Is the guy from CinemaSins in the audience?
Can we give props to Cassie's mom for being so positive about being portrayed so unflatteringly in front of so many people like that? We need more people who are that graceful about being parodied.
She was the break out star of that series. Really good acting. ✨
I’m absolutely vibing with the stage crew person who said ‘I feel like I’m going to throw up!’
Everyone else seems to be getting some sort of emotion reaction out of it, I would just be feeling pure anxiety watching this family wash their dirty laundry out in public, all the while knowing after it stops I’d be expected to know exactly where we are in the play we need to start back up from…
“I don’t know, I’m panicking. Just go away.” 😂
u dont need an enemy when u have a sister like lexi
lexi was a good sister. Cassie is evil
@@user-jl9zx4cj6v barely
@@user-jl9zx4cj6vif the good sister is the one who's ready to humiliate her own blood by showing the most embarrassing moment in Cassie's life and completely fine with writing "I just love fucking everything", then yeah, she's amazing sister. Are we living in the alternative universe or something?
@@user-jl9zx4cj6vAin't no way, lexi is the bitch here, sorry not sorry
what did lexi do?
The “show some boobs” makes me laugh every time. 😂😂
If that makes me villain then so fucking be it✨ iconic✨
Wtf what lexi actually doing tho like it’s fucked up
The play was showing how close they where before they got spread apart. And seeing it maybe hope for bringing them all together again. It's not hard to see unless you look behind the layers. Lexi never hated her sister, she said Cassie was smart and more in the beginning
@@CrimsonRaynenah the horse scene was not needed. everything else was totally fine

😭😭😂
the fact that cassie lost all her confidence when maddie spoke up still cracks me up
Only reason I watched the show was her. Insane characters are the best
i clicked to see her freaking out at the carousel scene :(
Second the crowd reactions are hilarious 🤣🤣
Well if that makes me the villan
WHOOO
💀
I love Rue and Jules looks on their face like “finally some drama that don’t involves us” 😂😂
It is so funny when Ethan shows up and everyone applauses him in the middle of the chaos
Lexie is a walking red flag, she criticizes Cassie when all she wanted was to be like her, like f off already
She's a typical "not like other girls" typa femcel
If my little sister did this to me ngl id be upset at her why is she airing out tea its no one's Business Lexi is just trying to shine off of Cassie's trauma...its mean
facts
And if my messy alcoholic mom was supportive of this invasion of privacy I would go no contact with the whole family
I'm on Cassie's side with this idc. Lexi making fun of, mocking, and embarrassing Cassie was disgusting.
off topic but where were the teachers during the play, like do they not care whats going on, especially ethan's play😭
2:20 I love how the stage manager is just supporting the chaos 😂💀 "don't question it" LMFAO
I don't give a damn about who is wrong who is wright I am here to just enjoy the drama 😂
Am i the only one that finds 1:20 - 1:28 fucking hilarious 😭
First I need to applaud you on how quick you were 👏👏
The mom is teh best😂
“Oh shit!”
That one moment with Sue and Ethan was wholesome
Unpopular opinion: her sister was just as wrong as she was and are both dating dysfunctional men.
Lexi wasn't dating Fez though.
@@belias360 stop it lol her and Fez were on there way to dating she like bad boys just like her sister.
Comparing the amazing, beloved Fezco to the godawful, shitty Nate Jacobs is INSANE; y’all will bend over backwards to defend Cassie and yet fail to realize that this is Lexi’s revenge on Rue and Cassie for being awful to her, and their karma.
She's right about Lexi being a bystander though
Honestly Lexi should’ve got fucked up for making this play. But in 2023 people don’t get beat up for not minding their business, let alone their siblings business
she would have gotten jumped in real life
Sir this is Euphoria
@@atable2505 lol when I refer to the real life shit I just mean how people in these comments are like “ hooray lexi”

omg yessss!
Literally my thoughts, Cassie and Nate are the 2 most consistent assholes and then getting what they deserve was part of it even Fez said some people deserve to have their feelings hurt sometimes
Lexi had no right humiliating her sister like that... I get Cassie is bad... but she was a good sister to Lexi... remember the car scene where she didn't let Lexi sit with her dad and instead sat in the front to protect her sister... I say it again... Lexi is the worst
@@archanaraosaffron remember when Lexi didn’t even want to get in the car and Cassie was more concerned with what a man thought about her so she subjected her sister to danger…. Next
I can hate how cassie behave in maddy's accounts and also hate how lexi behave in cassie's account.
The main difference is that this is seen in a positive light which shouldn't be
"Well that makes ms the villian, then so be it!" Gave real cruella deville vibes
Why'd everyone turn around and stare at Cassie at the beginning? "Oh, wow. Some girl is walking down the stairs. How riveting!".
Damaged people , damaging other people. I don't remember high school being so insane. But I graduated in '95 so...........😂
That dramatic walk just to get her ass kicked off the stage
Bro 4:12 is the most relatable Maddy quote to me
I was thinking about prom, homework and having my first kiss 😅 glad that was my high school experience
Yall talking about Cassie was embarrassed. Everyone who was the topic of the play was embarrassed including Maddy AND NATE who all had the sense to stay off the stage. Cassie walked her ass up there so she got wtf she got 💀💀
Lexi is the real villain here, lol. Girl could've made it less obvious.
1:28 that's racist 😭
I laughed more than i should’ve on that 😭
Cassie is not saint but her mother and sister are just toxic and horrible.
This scene embodies the female rage nicely and how Cassie is an unlikeable character but so relatable
She Is got a point Lexis was always afraid to live
Never understood why everyone acts like Lexi wasn't a total douche making fun of her sister like that in infront of hundreds of people... didn't even just imply that this character was based off her sister but had that whole ass carousel scene which everyone knew had actually happened.... like wtf?!
Her forehead shines more than my future xd.
What Lexi did was really disrespectful tbh
Cassie walking down the theatre aisle reminded me of Magneto from X-Men
I'm with cassie on this one
What amazes me about tv shows about teens is that they are NEVER dress coded - who tf dresses like that for school? Street walkers?
cassie is so right here what sister would do that
Lexi is the worst sister ever
Cassie is even worse
Lexi really shouldn’t have done that. Like girl put that in a diary entry or something. But in the same vein when Cassie did find out…..😬 everyone liked how her “real life” turned out to be soooooo
Not gonna lie. Lexi is the worse.
Cassie wasn’t a saint but that was wrong of her own sister to do that to her and her mom being on Lexi’s side kinda made you see why Cassie kinda was the way she was
Lexi airs out her sisters dirty laundry and then has the nerve to act like a victim...
I want Cassie and Maddie to be cast in the Bachelor together lol 😂
And then become co-bachelorettes lol
Cassie was wrong for dating Nate he's the real villain but Lexi was such a bitch for exposing everyone and everything. I would never do this to anyone. She's so lucky it was only Cassie who got mad and even luckier that Maddie attacked Cassie.
Lexi was so wrong for this, I'd act like Cassie too 😭
I mean if she hadn’t acted this way nobody would’ve known the show was about them
Cassie was so wrong for what she did to Maddy but Lexi crossed a line you, don’t do that to family and Cassie didn’t screw her over directly. She deserved the beating from Maddy and she also deserves to get ditched by her friends but this was so uncalled for. Lexi had no business humiliating her sister like this. It was never her battle to fight. Maddy can handle Cassie lol. This play came from a jealous place. She had selfish and cruel intentions. Boooooo 🍅 🍅 🍅 booo 🍅 🍅 🍅 booo 🍅 🍅 🍅 terrible sister!;
Dammit this video was about to get to the carousel part 😭😭
This show is literally so unrealistic. But mentally instable teens ig.
True but still fun to watch. Problem is this show will "jump the shark" sooner rather than later.
Teens are unstable at highschool, so it's realistic lol
I swear every actor in this show looks like they're on the verge of crying like Viola Davis no matter what emotion they're feeling
“that’s racist”
I love these shows where school faculty/administrators don’t exist but the students go to school anyways 😂😂😂
U cut my fav part when rue looked at her thru the window 😭😭😭😭💗 everyone’s acting was Oscar worthy Lexi put on a broadway show and their mom 😂😂😂 this was really her season
As much as I hate her, I honestly get Cassie's point of view. Lexi was 100% wrong for putting a bunch of people's lives on display without confronting them first, even if the show was really funny. They all needed humbling tho so idrc 😭😭😭
Only in America does a school play with minors turns into jerry springer and profanity at each other giving little regard what spectators think and feel
Lexie has a problem really
That's how they training to become a professional actor/actress.
Really good theater lessons.
Cassie may be a bad person, but Lexi was wrong in this one.
I'm on the lexis' side. She made a wildly entertaining play from life in her own eyes. Even Maddie loved it
Ew
The producer at the End would be me 🤣🤣 idk im panicking. Go away
Why does Cassie’s mom always the mad mom
Say what u want about Lexi but nobody knew (in the School) that she was talking about Cassie… A lot of people saying “she is humilliating Cass” but nobody knew Cass was Heather till she get on the stage. She needs to be the main character always and Lexi just show to her sister the attitude and consequences her behavior had
That's REALLY crazy nothing bad happened to them after
For one i hated that rue snitched cuz she was being cornered.
Lexi is the real villain here. I do not read lloros 🗿
My sister os literally her. The world revolves around her and she tries to play off like she did something and then she gets her ass beat.
Why is their mum supporting Lexi LOL? Airing their life like that? That's embarrassing
For me Cassie and the role Sydney pulled off was superb. A psychology into how the modern social media world, sex culture, teen porn culture, abortion and teen pregnancy, childhood divorce, fatherlessness, effect. If people can’t give her grace for the humanity of her darkness it only goes to prove the trope she’s playing. You love to demonize a pretty girl who’s broken and a mess.
