    Hi Zhea, thanks for all the informative videos, they have really helped with my transition so far! Would love to be included in the giveaway! My voice has always been a big source of dysphoria for me and your videos have been the most helpful thing so far in actually helping both change my voice and educate me on the mechanics behind changing your voice! You are a true inspiration so please keep up the amazing work, you are a lifeline for trans people everywhere! xx

    As a cis guy this was super interesting to watch, this was great content and super informative. I've been interested in voice control for cosplay/crossdress purposes and your channel explains it very well, maybe I'll take some lessons one of these days you two are great teachers

    • @ScribblyDoodle
      @ScribblyDoodle ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Omg not every cis person commenting is an egg. Let's just try not to assume anyone's gender identity and let people be whoever they are. This content in super interesting regardless of how you identify. Literally every cis commenter on this channel gets called an egg and it's annoying. Isn't the whole point of this movement NOT to tell people who they are or what they should be, and honour whatever pronouns people tell you?

    • @ScribblyDoodle
      @ScribblyDoodle ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@GoTEnjoyerMatt your point? Vocal feminization is also interesting to: voice actors, actors in general, D&D folks, singers, people interested in vocal anatomy, voice pathologists, cis gendered drag queens, or trans allies who just want to understand more about the process of transitioning. Personally, I'm a beatboxer, and I spend all my time experimenting with my voice and learning sound effects. I would LOVE to be able to gender bend as a vocal effect. Where better to look than the trans community for that information?

    • @ScribblyDoodle
      @ScribblyDoodle ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@GoTEnjoyerMatt yeahhh I guess that's fair. I was taking it too seriously, and it's not really my place to say anything.

    Having Clover demonstrate the same things really helps pinpoint what were supposed to hear, because I can contrast with differences between your voices and find the thing they have in common more accurately I feel. I also love how you (Z) have very exact answers for things, like your explanation of why hoarseness happens. Really helpful VOD!

    Honestly, this is one of your most helpful "videos" on your channel. Beforehand, I could not figure out how both weight and resonance played together (despite kind of understanding them separately). Something about Clover's demonstrations just really made things kind of click. It could also be because the two of you were working off each other too (as opposed to just 1 speaker).
    Not saying I suddenly mastered my voice because of this, but it has allowed me to actually move beyond the first few steps and learn how to practice now. Thanks

    It's insane how much free content you guys put out, thank you so much! One thing I understood for sure though is that vocal coach is still a must (for me at least), because I feel like I'm not progressing enough. Like it feels like I'm not training my voice enough and not sure if I'm doing it right. I managed to achieve that kind of trans voice when you have larynx high and you just speak normally but from your throat kinda, and i like how it changes my voice, but no idea how to get better from there. So yeah definitely gonna need some actual lessons some time soon.

    Everything you're explaining is very helpful, especially coupled with practice exercises from voice/singing training videos. It's also useful to have one or more vocalizations as starting points, as a way to park my voice so it's in a ready shape to slip directly into speaking, which works well after having warmed up.

    • @thrivinginamber2642
      @thrivinginamber2642 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Zheanna, can you record lots of people making the exact same pitch sound, like a middle C or the E above or whichever one everyone can make that also has good resonant or illustrative qualities, then put them in a video with each of them played one after another, so we can hear the differences in timbre across the board. Or even record each person twice, once before warming up with a completely cold unmodified morning voice and once at the end of a voice session completely warmed up. It would be very useful resource hearing the underlying resonant qualities back to back across lots of people for the same note.

    By the way, thank you so much for keeping this VOD up! It's been great to listen to on my commute to and from school! I've been running into problems finding time to practice, so it's nice to have one time every day where I know I can get something in
    (Hoping for more listenable sessions like this for when I get through this whole 2-and-a-half hour stream lol)

    Wow so much fascinating things I'm learning, both of you are so good at explaining these complex and really fascinating concepts about voice and sound. I'm still at the very beginning of my transition (haven't even made my new social media as a woman yet...), but I'm lucky that I can start on my voice right away from the start. I plan on using the free exercises on this channel for a while to get started, but I would love to join a group course or book some lessons on their site someday! I'm looking forward to getting into practicing my voice, learning to pay attention to all the details, but also playing around and having fun. Such a good vibe on this channel, thanks so much to Clover and Z for your incredible work!
