We had some great teachers in Philadelphia God bless them. Thank you Grover Washington Mr Harmon for putting my brothers together. I never forget around the corner in the basement what's the beginning. We thank you!!!!
Wow what a bass solo. I recently came across this groove on my local radio station and it was like I had a flash back to '82 when it first came out. I had forgotten just how young this guys were at the time when they released this classic groove. I hadn't heard this song probably since the 80's and boy was was it way back in my brain. That bass was what attracted me to it in the first place back then. I caught this groove at the end when I heard it on the radio and I was able to recorded that small part on my phone. Without knowing the title or the artist I accidently came across it here on YT; and now I'll never let it go again; it's now on my favorite playlist. Whoo what a long wait. LOL. There's no groove like old school groove. Without any doubt.

@@bostonjazz80 Their hit tune WARM WEATHER caught my attention did the rest go the R&B route I heard about this in their early years.Who were the other original members of this group?????
The three original members were James Lloyd, Curtis Harmon, and Cedric Napoleon. (Randy Bowland joined them for this gig [and others?]. I was fortunate to live in Philly in the early 80s, so I was able to see them perform live a few times. Sorry, I lost track with them after that. But you can follow Pieces of a Dream on Facebook, and they have a website too.

All though they are NOT a hip hop band..................this will go down as a hip hop classic!
True, furthermore, Most of hip hop clasics are recylcled "respectively" direct or indirect.
That bass solo is why live music will always live on.
