    You can use a 16 inch rim, but it has to be from certain years. I have 16 inch rims from a 2015 Tacoma on my 02 sequoia and I have the 13WL calipers which are the same size as the 14WA calipers. There isn’t much space between the rim and the caliper but they do not scrape.

    Seriously considering this on my 02 Sequoia. It's on 33s and factory brakes, loaded up with a sleeping platform and soon it'll have a steel bumper. The factory brakes are absolutely not up to spec anymore- at speed, I can plant my foot in the brakes and it's nowhere near enough stopping power to get even close to locking wheels or engaging ABS. I can't imagine trying to tow something.

    • @EvergreenOverland

      Brakes feel good, but I do think there is still some air in the lines somewhere as I get a little squishy peddle for the first push. Going in Wednesday to have them pressure bleed to know for sure if it is sir or the master cylinder struggling to keep up. I'll shoot a response to you after Wednesday.
      The R1 calipers are GX460 calipers. Not sure who produces the OEM Lexus calipers, but I was very pleased with the R1 product I went with.

    • @dillonkoch72

      @@bougiebum9138 they do but they have different mounting brackets for the shocks and I'd have to get a different mastercylinder to adjust the braking force from front to rear. And I'd have to fab up separate brake lines one for each rear caliper since there's only one like going to the rear.

    • @oldowl4290
      @oldowl4290 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pound for pound drum brakes PSI are better than disc. They're also better for dirt and debris. Google it. People who put discs on their rear are doing it because they just don't know better or are only doing it for looks. Don't be that guy. It's much better to just upgrade the front if you really feel it's warranted. Don't forget to flush and rebleed first and check other issues as a lot of time that's the problem, not the hardware itself. Brake and clutch fluid are hydroscopic and imo should be fully changed out every 5 years regardless of miles.
