Just another reason why I’m a huge fan of the Utes! Classiest fan base. It’s why I always cheer for them when we are not playing against each other. Plus, I have mass respect for KW. He’s a terrific coach, and like Lanning, he’s very dedicated to Utah.

I’ve spent time at Hill AFB in Layton Utah. It was only for a few months, but I absolutely loved my time there. Riding my bike around Antelope Island, and up to Bear Lake was some of my highlights. The mountains are amazing!! Unfortunately, I wasn’t there long enough to experience fall and a football game. Something I was really hoping to do. It’s definitely on my radar though. I drove to Rice-Eccles Stadium to check it out. It’s one of the most scenic settings in all of college football. I loved it!!!
Anyway, good luck this season and win the Big12. The Utes are a team that I never mind losing to, and we’ve lost plenty 🤣😂
So I hope we meet again in the playoffs. Having Rising back this next year will be huge!!

After our last 3 coaches, I just assumed Lanning was gone when Saban retired. Man, I was already a fan of him, but it’s at another level now.

I've lived in 4 states and 3 have national championship caliber programs. 2 of them have won multiple natties in my lifetime and multiple Heismans, 1 of them has always been just on the cusp but just as capable. It's about time for the ducks to have a coach of this caliber and that coach commit to the ducks. Now if cuse follows suit, the tradition will live on.

Finally having a great Ducks coach that rejects the idea of joining a team like Bama, the gold standard, is a hard feeling to describe as an alumni and long-time Ducks fan. A feeling of immense pride today. It's been a rough coaching carousel and the brutal part is, besides Helfrich's firing, it was mostly because we were being successful. Finally, we have a guy who feels the same way we do about this team. Thank you Dan!!

Oregon versus Tuscaloosa Alabama?!? Saban was from West Virginia so Alabama was a step up. The only other place that Alabama is a step up from is Mississippi. My money is on Lane Kiffin.
Kiffin is crazy enough to take the job… but I think he’s currently set up better now in Ole Miss than if he was to hop ship to bama. Not to mention I’m not sure if bama wants a coach with his play style or more of a defensive mind.
I’d be devastated if I’m an ole miss fan and he was to leave especially after the work they’ve done in the portal.

Man, I am seriously smiling ear to ear. Oregon finally has our guy. It has been a long time coming. My mom and dad took me my first duck game when I was 4 months old in 1985. My grandma was a daisy duck. My whole family is UofO generations back. The times were different then. To remember going to games as a kid in the early 90s to where we are now.... It is sureal. How much do you wanna bet this was the best recruiting pitch Lanning could have done?

Deboer was always Bama's choice. Saban, Lanning, Deboer, Norvel, and Sark all have the same agent: Jimmy Sexton. With Saban retiring, Sexton helped Bama hire Deboer, and leverage salary raises for the other coaches. Sexton is a mad lad.

Because Oregon is a better job. Bama was attractive due to Saban, not Alabama

Awhh man, I knew he wasn't going to leave. I know we all had PTSD about our coaches leaving but he and his family genuinely love Eugene, unlike Cristobal and his family. Dan has it good in Eugene. The Ducks are his baby now. He has every tool and all the support he needs to bring this team to National Championship. Looking forward to the 2024 season. See you at Autzen! LFG!

I think lanning truly loves Eugene. It's a fantastic town. South end of the Willamette valley. The Ocean 60 miles west. Mountains 50 miles east. Beautiful campus. Great facilities. Just a great hippie town.

This decision by Lanning is huge. Not only for Oregon but for the future of the Big 10 in general. I believe the Big 10 will become the premier conference in college football in the near future. A position the SEC has had for the past 15 + years.
As a Dawgs fan even if he wasn’t offered respect to Lanning and all other coaches being 100% committed to his program unlike Deboer who left as soon as he saw a sinking ship that would expose him 😂

Every single team besides the one who wins the NC has a team that is a poor matchup. Michigan was Washington's. Washington was Oregon's. Their entire line is changing, for the worse, next year. It was literally just a poor secondary that made the difference. Losing by 3 is a coin flip loss.
