    Great hire. If you can go to the championship game with the talent he had vs other schools, you’re an outstanding coach. 25-3 as a record? Dang!

      Yep I was expecting a drop off for Bama, now not as much. He likely won't win 6, but he is going to win nattys at Bama.

      I love how you act like he didn't have any Talent at Washington, he had a Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback and three NFL caliber receivers.. is biggest issue he'll have in SEC is recruiting,, adding players from the transfer portal is one thing but you have to be able to recruit in the South and I don't know how he has any kind of ties or any kind of real experience on what it takes to recruit in the southeast, I've heard delusional Alabama fans say over and over the last couple of days that the name Alabama recruits itself and that's strictly not true, those kids came out of high school because they wanted to be coached by Nick Saban, not because they just wanted to go to Alabama. The first couple of years this guy will have good players because Nick Saban recruited them if they don't all go in the transfer portal, but they've already lost Ryan williams, and Isaiah Bond , I have to see it to believe it because there's been a lot of coaches come to the SEC what's this and other conferences and they get to the SEC and they find out it's a completely different beast and they can't get the job done..Like Billy Napier, Brian Harsin, Jim McElwain and Ron Zook..

      @@ericcarvelli9773He also had first round talent at multiple other positions. People attach far too much weight to how many stars those players had coming out I'd high school and not what they actually were.

      @@ericcarvelli9773 No reason to get upset. He had never had a top 20 class. I believe 26 and 32. It’s a testament that he is a legit coach. Now give him talent that gets drawn to the ‘Alabama” name and SEC conference, he will compete for Nattys. And btw, I’m an Auburn fan. The Iron Bowl will still be outstanding moving forward with these two coaches.

      Yeah. But I had a feeling this was Saban last season from the beginning of the season. When they said he was retiring, I was happy for him. He reminded me of my former boss. He was an hardass, but you respected it. His drawback was he worked too hard and didn't enjoy his last few years of life in retirement. Saban left at the right time

      @@Raphell28lousy last game, though. No idea how he got stuck with Milroe and Seth. Baffling.
      To think he was a 4th and 2 or one more yard on blown MI punt return or Milroe doesn't fumble in open field on opening 2d half drive...he's playing a relatively weak opponent for the title.

    As a old guy it's hard to understand todays collage sports. It seems to be about the money now, theres no love or loyalty anymore, playes and coaches use universitys as stepping stones to get more money. Coach Deboer had a chance to bring Washington back to their 70s and 80s glory, but instead he bailed on on the school and his players. Lane Kiffin did the same thing to Tennessee in 2010. I can see a coach at a small school leaving to coach at a major collage. In the past i cant imagine past good coaches doing this. great coaches in the past worked hard built great teams and programs and stayed there until they retired, died, got fired or forced to resign. then most didnt live long after that

    If I’m a Bama fan I’d prefer him over Lanning. Not so much that he out-coached Lanning by being smarter or more creative when they played, but that DeBoer didn’t sabotage his own team with moronic coaching decisions. Similarly to how Saban coaches. Going off the small sample size I have watching him coach power 5 football at Washington this is actually a great hire for Bama. Coaching in the SEC is a different beast though. Especially now with the addition of Texas and OU, there no longer being divisions and the new scheduling changes.
    Man am I curious to see how he would have done against Saban had Bama beat Michigan! National title game is much much closer if Penix doesn’t play so poorly and the O line doesn’t commit so many penalties. Harbaugh and his staff did a great job of recognizing and disrupting Washington’s strengths while attacking their weaknesses. Something Sarkisian and his staff at Texas for whatever reason just didn’t.

      @lestersmith7 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stuvo1977 honestly up until that very last possession against Texas he did a phenomenal job of clock management and owning time of possession. Had his back not been injured on that 3rd & 5 after Texas had already used their timeouts it wouldn’t have been a big deal. Texas would have gotten the ball back within their own 20 with around 15 seconds left. My criticism would be he shouldn’t have run the ball on the 2 previous plays risking turning it over at Texas own 45! Should have taken knees on all 3 wasting Texas timeouts and then told his punter to make sure that ball lands out of bounds as close to the goal line as possible. Definitely don’t give Texas an opportunity to get a return and definitely make sure your gunners don’t cause a fair catch interference like they did. That’s my main criticism to how he handled that last possession against Texas.
      All Texas had to do was run the ball between the tackles and blitz/put pressure on Penix disrupting his rhythm. They just kept sending their front four who couldn’t get any penetration or disrupt Penix all night. Didn’t have the disruptive front four that Michigan had. Sark was foolish enough to think he could line up and beat Washington in a shoot out. Was frustrating to watch and I’m no Texas fan either.

    Good move for Kalen and really hope college football renames the power 4 conferences as just 2 large conferences: CF1W and CF1E, (college football 1 west and 1 east) for div. 1 west and 1 east, which can be divided into regions, similar to the NFL, with a similar playoff structure. Smaller college programs can either work to get into div. 1 football, or go div. 2 or 3. Other sports within ea. college can choose to mostly play within their regional division, with the opportunity to play other schools, nationwide, and go to playoffs and championships, themselves. Current conferences are goofy with Big 10 and Big 12 having WAY more schools than 10 or 12 and the ACC and SEC having schools not on the Atlantic coast, or in the Southeast.

      I'm a Bama fan, and in my opinion, it's not about a new scheme for Milroe. I think a lot of fans were down on Tommy Rees until they realized it was actually Milroe. Taking too long to make decisions, allowing the pocket to collapse on him, not seeing wide open receivers in the middle of the field, etc. I heard the OC last year told Milroe directly that he wasn't a QB. I like Milroe as a person, he's got a great heart, his faith is strong, but he is not the QB Bama needs. Next year will be the same rollercoaster ride if Milroe is the starter. If Milroe can catch, he'd make a fabulous tight end with that size and speed. Personally I'm hoping they give that new kid a chance to show his QB skills.
