If this song doesn't lift your spirit into the light you are not human. Thumbs up!

Possibly the most underrated song ever made.

I have listened to this track thousands of times and every single time it gives me goosebumps. The build-up and the crescendo of Tangerine Dream and Jon Anderson is a sound unlike any other and you probably will never hear it again...... this song is the Unicorn

I believe the Soundtrack came out in 1986. I have always liked i, but never saw the movie completely through. .
Apparently Jon's lyrics were added later, and Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Johannes Schmoelling apparently were not informed that lyrics had been added!
At the time in the 1980's Jon contributed to the sntk to Metropolis, 2 songs to a soundtrack that Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones wrote music for - "Scream for Help." One of the songs was called
" Silver train," and the other,
" Christie. "'Jon also sang a track on a Kitaro album called "Lady of dreams," and 2 songs for Michael Oldfield-
" Shine" and " In High places."
Jon of course released 4 Jon & Vangelis albums - 3 in the 1980's-
Short Stories, Friends of Mr Cairo, and "private collection"
    JON Anderson AND:
    KITARO-
    "Lady of Dreams"
    Mike Oldfield:
    " Shine"
    " In high places"
    Tangerine Dream sntk for LEGEND:
    " Loved by the sun"
    Sntk for: Scream For Help:
    " Christie"
    " Silver train"
    Sntk for Metropolis:
    " Cage of Freedom"
    Jon and Vangelis:
    Short Stories 1980
    Friends of Mr Cairo- 1981
    Private Collecton - 1983
    Page of Life- 1991
    Tangerine Dream
    1980's albums:
    Tangram
    Exit
    Berlin
    Underwater Sunlight
    Legend
    Le Parc
    Poland
    Thief
    Force Majure
    Wavelength
    Firestarter
    Miracle Mile
    Optical Race
    Lilly on the Beach
    Risky Business
    Three O'clock

I've known about this song for most of my life, I grew up watching the movie even though parts of it scared the crap out of me. This music at the end was just unreal, you hear it just one time and you will never forget it.

Legend Soundtrack!!!!!! I remember when this movie came out people didn’t like it and it flopped big time, now it’s a cult classic. Tangerine Dream is a electronic band who did lots of soundtracks in the 80’s.

Tangerine Dream are considered a pioneering act in electronica.[3] Their work with the electronic music Ohr label produced albums that had a pivotal role in the development of the German musical scene known as kosmische Musik ("cosmic music"). Their "Virgin Years", so called because of their association with Virgin Records, produced albums that further explored synthesizers and sequencers, including the UK top 20 albums Phaedra (1974) and Rubycon (1975). The group also had a successful career composing film soundtracks, creating over 60 scores.

Reminds me of my childhood. Watching Legend at my great grandparents house thinking this was the most magical song lol. Now that I’m older I realize that it is. Tangerine Dreams music version of this movie made it everything. Loveee this song. When I play this for my kids they’re like.. what is this?!?

Jon Anderson is my favorite male vocalist and, of course, he is THE voice of Yes! Although he is one of the 4 lead vocalists that have fronted the band, he appears on all but 3 albums. He has the voice of Heaven. Tangerine Dream is a keyboard laden psychedelic rock group from the 70s and 80s.
Anyway, I named my one and only son after him and my son's father (Jonathan William).
Now, if you want to hear Jon's best vocals, try the Yes songs "Heart of the Sunrise," "And You And I," "The Revealing Science of God," "Soon" (which is actually the final part of the Yes epic, "The Gates of Delirium"), " Wonderous Stories," "On The Silent Wings of Freedom," and one of the most spiritual rock songs you'll ever experience, "Awaken."
Of course there are many more, but I wanted to give you some highlights from 70s Yes. ✌😇🎼

It is truly a beautiful song. I would encourage you to look up Jon Anderson's work with Greek composer Vangelis, such as "I'll find my way home."

Tangerine Dream wrote the music and Jon Anderson wrote the lyrics. I don't know if the two ever met. The song probably started off as an instrumental and Jon Anderson wrote lyrics on top of it and sang it. Jon could sing the phone book and make it sound good.

I cannot believe that you reacted to the song. This is one of my favorite songs and I have the whole Legend soundtrack and score.
And tangerine dream is one of my absolute favorite fans ever. They did the score for Risky Business which is one of my penultimate favorites.

Jon has so much amazing solo stuff, you wouldn't believe. I could name 200 songs you should hear. Stuff from 1000 hands, Anderson/Stolt Invention of Knowledge, Jon & Vangelis, Kitaro, and lots of his own albums. You will love most of it, though there are some clunkers mixed in.

Tangerine Dream did the score to this, Risky Business, 3 o'clock High, Firestarter, Near Dark and many many more movies. German group started back in 1967 and their albums are hauntingly good. Listen to The Dream is Always the Same. Or anything they did in the late 70s and early 80s. Their own albums

Jon's voice is iconic. Aside from his work with Yes which I hope you will explore more, his work with Vangelis as 'Jon and Vangelis' [Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire] showcases his lyric writing too.
Of particular nostalgic note if you are a fan of the black and white movies such as The Maltese Falcon and the gangster movies of old is 'The Friends of Mr. Cairo' which is just astonishing. Watch the video with it. 😊

Check out Giorgio Moroder's Presents Metropolis, in which Moroder took the 1927 movie Metropolis and turned it into a rock video with various artists at the time (1982).
For example, Pat Benatar, Billy Squier, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler, Adam Ant, Jon Anderson, ...
Freddie Mercury and Moroder wrote the music/songs that each of the artists snag.

This, Tim Curry and Bryan Ferry's Is Your Love Strong Enough are the only reasons to watch the movie Legend.
Tangerine Dream did many, many soundtracks. Once you've heard a few of them, you'll start recognizing their work in lots of 80/90s movies.

'Ole Audiophle to ToneBone TV: Never heard of Tangerine Dream? Started by Edgar Froese in '67, the founder passed in year 2015 while the band lives on today. 106 live & studio albums, plus 36 motion picture soundtracks, they basically INVENTED electronic music as it's own Jonra. I recommend checking out three wonders to get you started, Mothers Of Rain, White Eagle & Proton Bonfire/the current live versions are best here on TH-cam. thanx!

First off, thanks for the reaction. However, "get a tan, sit under the sun, let it love you" - sorry my bro, there's more to the meaning of the song than that. In the lyrics, it literally says that it's about how legends can teach us how to "love for goodness sake". Legends are loved by the sun, not you bro, unless you become a legend! LOL!
