If you are watching day of premiere this the 2nd anniversary of the channel! I can't believe how far we've come! Except for today, sorry, the audio was a little off. I had my mic plugged in but I guess the camera didn't register it. It happens like twice a month lol my apologies.

If you’d like to donate to the channel or just show your appreciation, all the details are below. I created this channel for my daughter, so she has videos of her father talking and doing something he enjoys(listening to music and talking about it) since I don’t have any of those of my father. :) thank you again for your generosity guys, I appreciate you all more then you will ever know.

Jon was really satisfied with this performance. The arrangements are top notch, really respectful to the original. I think it's the ultimate version.
Well, I’m glad you love it and I love it, too. It’s astonishing how good Jon’s voice sounds after nearly leaving us in 2008.
However, all that being said, the classic era Yes touring in the early 2000’s did almost apocalyptic renditions of Awaken. I was privileged to see several of them. Among the highlights of my life. That band, doing this, as well as And You And I, and others were irreproachable. Finest live band ever to reach my eyes and ears.
@@frankhoulihanfh4972 I must say the best Awaken I saw live was 1977 when it was brand new. Also on that tour, they did a Close To The Edge that was grungy. I haven't heard that song played that way since. That concert was my first Yes show, and I'll never forget the way they played those two songs. What a show.
Jon still sounds the same as 50 years ago..........Amazing
I think this is probably the best version of Awaken ever. I want to have this played at my funeral - and anyone who doesn't listen to it all will be disinherited! ;-)
I am doing the same, minus disinheritance. 😊
YES! Jon Anderson is YES music. Great rendition of this song. Thanks for reacting to it.
The choir is what takes this version to a whole other level
Anderson once said in an interview that of all the classic epics Yes did in the 70s, he considered "Awaken" to be the one that achieved true perfection. And I can see that, even if I'm more of a "Close to the Edge"/"Gates of Delirium" kinda guy.
A truly classic performance. YES-Saturdays are the best.
That's the third time I've watched this and it is beyond beautiful. Jon Anderson the greatest most emotive voice in music.
State of Independence from this show is also amazing.
Maybe you noticed...Jon's body, hand and arm movements capture all the "odd" rhythms within the song that are normally missed.
You can see it on this and any live Yes show. Enjoy! With Peace and Love to all! (Michael)
Hi lee , as a non religious person myself I find it impossible not to be moved by this song ,it takes you to another place . It’s my go to song when everything in life is falling apart. Keep strong my friend ,Best wishes mate .From another lee in the uk !
Yeah, YES may have saved my life also. "Like the time I ran away...turned around and you were standing close to me". We are here cheering for you, Lee. Persevere.
I love Jon’s graceful, benevolent, physical expressions and lovely clear voice.
DUDE......this song Brought me to JESUS CHRIST. Heavily into this Song since 1979....Cry every time. So Profound. Thank You, YES !
I'm guessing that you had figured out that this Star Song of Hope culminates with the instrumental representation of the rapture. After all, that stargate event is the blessed hope of all Christians.
I'm glad this song brought you some sort of solace :)
@@L33ReactsI feel that the original studio version is the best version because of the way that Steve plays the pedal steel guitar during the crescendo.
@@charleswagner2984Have you heard the recordings of their Wembley concerts, from 1978, Awaken is on another level.
So pure.
@@Atom-56 I was at two shows in The Spectrum in Philadelphia for Tormato tour. Outstanding. Third row in the round.
Tears are good. I cry at good movies and especially good music. Nothing wrong on that.
wow made me cry in 1977 and again today... thank you Yes Jon and L33
I saw them twice, during the 4 day stint at Wembley, in 78.
Awaken, on the Saturday was an out of body experience…..so pure
@@Atom-56 you are so lucky mate, i heard the radio broadcast, one of lifes MOMENTS
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Congrats on your 2 years!
"Not all tears are an evil" -- Gandalf
Great quote.
Jon is YES. This is beyond words. Just straight from heaven. The orchestra and the singers add a lot. Love this
Congratulations Lee ❤WOOHOO! I'm fortunate to be part of your music family! THANK YOU. Spectacular music, this one. I saw Yes in concert as a 17 yr old pregnant girl. HARD TIMES. One of the best all time bands.
Tears of joy are good!
crying and tears are evidence you have a musical soul mate, I cry often these days with music of my childhood, and am proud of it, I AM HUMAN
Astonishing performance L33 - great piece of music. Such a humble guy, Jon Anderson, and what a voice. Simply stunning. Thanks my man.
Sucks my mic didn't register for this video lol would have been even better. Oh well, at least the music was great.
Get Lee to 20K subscribers, folks! Sweat, tears and, ( Due to near misses from falling objects) nearly blood, goes into his videos. Let alone an honesty that is rare to find. Have a great day, Lee! Congratulations for coming this far in two years x
tears listening to this music is so natural mate
If you do not cry during this beautiful rendition you are not human
I (among many) am thankful you are here Lee. You really get inside a song as only a musically-minded person can. Good health!
grats L33! Yes is the Bes!
Yes is really what WOKE ME UP back like 12 years ago
Phenomenal show from Jon and Company.
Wonderful live recording of Awaken amazing performance.
So looking forward to Jon touring live with the Band Geeks not to be missed Lee 👍🫶🏻
“Like the time I ran away, turned around and you were standing close to me…”. That gets me every time. And let those tears flow man, we’re conditioned to think they’re somehow bad, but they cleanse and nurture us.
This has to be the most covered, watched, discussed, reacted-to cover performance ever. But this performance was the thing that shut up all the doubters who said Jon could never come back from his illness and perform at the level he once had. It was then, "OK Chris (he was still with us when this was recorded) and Steve -- what's the deal?"
Heaven opens up so many times in this performance. Magnificent. I have never made it through this without tearing up a bit.
The best cover of this masterpiece 😍❤
awaken gentle mass touch......... takes me back to being 12 years old..... 1977..... Yes heaven
You should definitely check out the rest of that concert, it's all on youtube, chopped up into each song, and also I think the whole thing all together. This may have been Jon's best performance ever. make sure to see Jon with The Band Geeks on tour this summer.
Gonna have to listen to this a few more times
Right?? It's so good
It’s cool to hear you say Yes saved your life….others ..like me…have been saved too!😉❤
They really did. I don't know if I would still be here without them.
😊 I understand. I could talk your ear off with my love and experiences with Yes! Music of my life! I’m old..
Make sure you've got a box of tissues next to you Lee.🤩
☮️⭐️👍😎
Just wow!!
Being grateful for what you have- even if it's small Will turn your life around positive. You may slip up occasionally. But we are human. Turn the page. A new sheet to write daily.
Beautiful Celebration with ‘Awaken’ L33 !! It’s stunning way to celebrate 2 years of amazing emotions…. This is Real heavenly Music!!
Sorry I wasn't here for the premiere. I had to run some errands. 😊You know how I look forward to Yesaturdays! I enjoyed your reaction as always, my friend, and the little chat afterwards. "Awaken" is one of those songs, where even after 40 odd years of listening to it, can still elicit strong emotions, and spirituality. And there's times where it still has the power to move me to tears. This was one of those times. Todmobile really does the song justice and Jon was really feeling it. 🙏 High vibration go on/To the sun, oh let my heart dreaming/Past a mortal as me/Where can I be?
simply the best of the best, crying at music is proof you have passion and love within you
This song has more "Dudes" crying on You Tube! I am 70 years young. So glad you decided to stay HERE! According to US, STAY with us. YOU JUST GOT HERE!
The original brings tears to my eyes this version literally makes me weep
I’m glad you’re still here, Lee. I happened upon your Close to the Edge reaction and have been a fan of your channel since. You helped me through an emotionally rough winter. Thank you.
Congrats on 2 years and being Close To The Edge of 20K, Lee! Hate to hear about your sadder times and hope they're mostly behind you. You say that our presence here has helped you out but don't forget how much it helps us to see you enjoying this music. Also, yesterday was my 70th birthday, so I doubly appreciate this as a belated gift! There's a similar group that does a YT version of Olias - without Jon - that isn't on a Todmobile level but I think you'd enjoy it, too. Thanks!
Congratulations on 2yrs and 20k subs. You're an amazing young man with a heart. Let your tears be not those of pain, but of joy. ❤
Swirling energy, beautiful ☀️
You are going to love this one, its fantastic, they also do Suppers Ready with Steve Hackkett
Glorious!
‘Oh closely guided plan, awaken in our hearts.’ Breathtaking music to find refuge in. A wonderful performance! Lovely to share it with everyone who feels the same. Thanks Lee.
Finally watching. Cheers to 2 years, buddy. Glad to be with you. This one is for my bleary eyes tonight ❤
So glad you reacted to this. It is beautiful, Jon is so great. Know you feel same. Ty L33.
Dam..some days it Still really hits you in the ❤! Your not alone Lee!😊
Thank you I'm glad to hear you say that:)
"State of Independence" with Jon & Todmobile is well worth checking out. The track was originally on Jon & Vangelis _The Friends of Mr. Cairo_ studio album from 1981. It was later reworked by Quincy Jones and presented to Donna Summer, who managed to make a hit out of it. Jon Anderson also reworked the track with an orchestra on his own album, _Change We Must._ (1994)
Your reactions make me smile
Congrats on two years! Continued success and thanks for the great reactions and insights. This is so sublime!
close to the edge and awaken are my world in music
his voice here is at its BEST, THIS is Yes
Yes it is👍!
Top shelf!
Sending a BIG HUG to you 🤗
Going For The One was my very first Yes album, bought when it came out. I never replaced the LP with a CD so I’d forgotten about this song. Thanks for the reawakening. (ha, see what I did there… nevermind) This version rocks.
Check out the Jon & Vangelis collaborations too.
Lee, this music kept me in my bedroom lots listening to these magnificant talented artists on my vinyl albums from them. Like the mole people.. Lol. This was auditory bliss during my teenage years for sure. We couldnt see it. Just hear. Over and over and over. One side thru to others. They all seemed to be connected.😂❤. I hope you will explore Electric light orchestra and Emmerson lake amd palmer. And for newer stuff a group caled the big big train. Like this stuff ( progue) . Try their earlier stuff ...
Lee ….. you are healing right in front of my eyes(and ears)
I am happy that you are feeling better
Way better than the Yes Symphonic tour. Far more space for the orchestra and choirs, with less rock band ego on display.
Well yes that certainly woke me up.
Congratulations on your anniversary and nearly reaching 20k. There's a track called "Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh" by a band called Magma, that I know you'd like, for many reasons: the composer and the band's frontman is a guy called Christian Vander, who is the drummer! They are a French prog rock band, with a six piece choir, and a brass section and stunning musicianship. Knowing that he may not find international success writing in French, he invented an entire new alien language, called Kobian, so much of their material, including MDK is not in a recognisable language. HOWEVER, I'm reluctant to recommend it for a reaction for several reasons, not least as it is a 48 minute track, and the only complete live version on youtube is of fairly low resolution (480). Also, I saw them perform this live in the '70's and raved about them so much at work the next day that a colleague went out and bought the album. A few days later he gave me the album as he couldn't stand having it in his house as he hated it so much! It is clearly not for everyone, but I do think that every drummer should get to watch "Mekanik Destructiw Kommandoh" live in Paris at least once. Video is th-cam.com/video/NoZIXPvHPoY/w-d-xo.html
Great way to celebrate 2 years!………..Hopefully you will make 20k this week!!
I thought so too. Bummer my mic didn't pick up lol but oh well. I'll probably hit in by tonight, I'm like 70 away. Well I hope, at least, lol
One of my fav versions. My only critisism, was the guitarist, left out the final riff, that brings one back to earth from the voyage.
Great choice Lee! 🎸
So, from this concert is something better "State of Independence". this version change my life. The best version of this song, much better than version With Vangelis. Greetings from Poland
Hey man its been awhile! Life catches up lol. It really sucks to hear some of what you have going on. And its good to know you're still here. One of the first times I commented, it was about Yes being a really good friend. And I'm glad they help you too. Especially being around my age. Also, this is the best Live version of this song. Never known if you've ever seen them do CTTE live or not, but you should :) Take care of that heart and those girls, Lee.
If you want another treat check out Steve Hackett doing Supper's Ready with Todmobile. Stellar guitar work including a top notch outro.
Steve Hackett does a version of "Supper's Ready" with Todmobile. Excellent!
Our Astral Traveler gets a fitting tambourine.
Who TF is Todmobile?!
Absolutely Stunning! Magical. Goosebumps all the way. Awaken is my all time favourite ’YES’ piece of music.
And along with the 2003 performance at Montreaux, this is my favourite Live performance. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this performance. Simply sensational. Saw Jon again last summer, (2023), with the Paul Green Rock Academy and his voice was as incredible as ever.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been a ‘YES’ fan since 1971, aged 15. Jon will be 80 this coming October, he’s touring this year in the US with his incredible group of musicians, ‘The Band Geeks’, who he also toured with in 2023.
And today, (May 8th, 2024), it was announced that Jon & The Band Geeks, are releasing a new Album, in August, 2024, called, ‘TRUE’.

New music in the style of classic 70’s ‘YES’ and 80’s too. Jon Anderson, my all time Musical Hero. Wow, how blessed to be listening to him since 1971. I first saw him Live in 1973, when I was 17. What a musician, what a voice, what a Genius.
🎶❤️🎶
Wow!! I had no idea he and the Band Geeks were working on an album. He's amazing. I also saw him and the Geeks in 2023, and I cried so many tears of joy. Jon is truly a treasure. Yes' music is a spiritual journey. Awaken is the pinnacle of what YES music embodies. 🎶 💚💚
@@lindazee Couldn’t have put it better. 🎶❤️🎶
If the music doesn't move you then why listen to it. Never be ashamed of being moved by music.
Jon Anderson wrote "Awaken."
On a a side note Lee,
Todmobile have collaborated with other top musicians including Steve Hackett.
You should check out their performance of Firth of Fifth.
And this, is my favourite live version of Awaken even without the rest of the Yes line up.
You've got to do "The State Of Independence" from the same show.
With the organ it does sound like church❤
Fabulous version - can we buy it anywhere?
Lee, may i suggest you check out Ren. Maybe even in your off station. Like a rubic cube. So much talent. So much health issue's ( lymes disease, misdiagnosed x 10 years) last year in treatment for it finally. Long road ahead. But he is born to share and help others thru his situations. He also is a singer songwriter and last 2 days he has been reading his diary of hell on whee l s on his journey of lymes diseasse called missing. So many like him fall thru cracks in medicine because they arent that learned in its symptoms etc. He is a beacon Lee to shine and help all those struggling in health similar or not. He is something else. Please go check him out. I know you will be touched. He is an open book. Wants his stuff on utube to be shared so no penalties. Such a brilliant 30 something man from UK. Deep digging. But so worth it. " hi ren" is a great start. For music " the big push " and recent " missing" series. Etc. I know your channel is mostly 70s 70s music. Just please go follow him....😂❤❤
Anything from Yessongs or Yesshows would be great to hear.
Wish the Sun to stand still …….. I wonder what that means 🤔
Wembley 1978…….Awaken……out of body experience,
Just a heads up. Your mic is over modulated, distorted.
I'm aware. My mic didn't register so back up audio was used.
Your voice sounds funny. Not sure what the issue is.
The mic didn't register with the camera because I plugged it in with the camera already opened. So the back up, computer mic, audio was used.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...this is one of my least favorite Yes songs. This was a bathroom break for me at concerts.
Oh sorry for that…not all of us can appreciate it deeply.
Each to their own.
You obviously lack for taste.
