Thanks for commenting! And this topic is a great idea: we have a series of product design questions, but haven't tackled this one yet. We'll get on it!

This answer is somewhat incomplete. "Business context" is vague - you have to share WHY the problem you want everyone to focus on is worthwhile. This includes customer journey, pains and what outcomes you want to achieve.

Hey Udayan, thanks for commenting! Check out the context from 4:55 - 5:46. The compound answer you're referencing is a way of demonstrating empathy while also acknowledging that different people will interact differently with the information you have to share. We agree that the "why" always matters (quote from 6:12 : "Everyone needs to know not just what they're building, but why they're building it and why they're building it right now." ) But as Jason has said, some engineers will be energized by product decision making, and others will feel bogged down by it. That's why we recommend highlighting that you provide the headlines while keeping the context easily accessible for all who want it. Here, you're leaving space for the individual needs of your team, because in the interview process, you don't fully know the personality types and communication preferences of your engineers yet. With that said, the "hedging your bets" answer template is only one of a handful of potential answers we recommend for this question. Hope this helps!
