Shohei carried the team all season long and when it seemed like he was running out of gas the rest of the team carried him the rest of the way to the finish line.
It's awesome to watch Ohtani celebrating this championship. He brought me and countless other fans back to baseball. He and the dodgers play the game the right way. Congrats to all dodgers fans! Looking forward to Ohtani's Cy Young and MVP 2025 season 😉
As a Dodger fan I sure hope Ohtani would win Cy Yong next season, but personally as a baseball fan I'd hope Lindor can win league MVP, he's been great and nothing but pure class
The Dodgers season literally began with a scandal with Ohtani’s interpreter. They lost their ENTIRE pitching rotation at one point including Glasnow their Ace. They were being clowned on by the Padres and come back to humble them. The NL was an absolute GAUNTLET this year. What an amazing run. The scary part is they’re just getting started
Also a really scary time during the season was when Freddie Freeman’s son Max got severely sick and he had to take a leave from the team. Thankfully he started to get better and Freddie returned to the lineup but then the very night they clinched the NL West Freddie sprained his ankle. Really happy for him to hit that walkoff grand slam in Game 1 and turn in a legendary performance in the World Series to win MVP, he truly deserved this.
And he had a great Series both at the plate & in the field too, Teo was right in the middle of all the excitement as the Dodgers won too & he did play a big role which was awesome to see. Unlike a certain Yankees star who practically showed up way late to the World Series, Teo contributed from the very 1st game all the way up to the clincher. Wicked stuff. 🙂
I love the players celebrating with Sho's translator too. One of the reasons this club is so good is that they recognize that every member of the organization from the top down is important.

The dodgers did a great job of Getting guys like Mookie, Freddie, and Shohei. When you have star players/leaders like that who don’t have egos it rubs off on the rest of the team. Ohtani put them over the edge, but I still think managing to get Freddie was huge based on his character as a person and his toughness as a player. His old school play everyday, even if injured approach is refreshing
how about that. Yankees collapse in 2004 in the ALCS against the Red Sox and exactly 20 years later they collapse in the 5th inning of game 5 in the world series and Dave Roberts was involved in both 😂

Roberts had planned the games that the Yankees could have won to be games that they would lose. It must have been hard for Roberts to contain his laughter during the game when he saw New York get carried away after scoring double digits and make lazy plays. He was as cunning as Light Yagami.
If Roberts had tried to go for the sweep in Gm 4, used his good bullpen and lost, he would have messed up their pitching rotation the rest of the way and risk losing the series. The key is to win the WS not sweep.
He played the pitching matchups like a master. Being shorthanded, he conceded Game 4 knowing that the Yankees would still have to get past every one of Flaherty (who had shown flashes of brilliance in the playoffs), Yamamoto and Buehler. Flaherty had a bad night tonight, but Roberts pulled him right away when it was clear he didn't have his stuff. And when the opportunity to nail it down presented himself, he went with his most effective pitcher to secure the win and the series.
