I just got mine and I will try it tomorrow. I did notice the unusual Sawteeth on it, but bought it anyway. I will be sure that I wear eye protection when I use mine, which I always do!
Thanks for the review! I had no idea it had a weird blade on it for the self-sharpening feature. You helped me avoid a possible bad purchase. Think I'll stick with a Wen or something much cheaper than this saw. I need to cut up a fallen tree but I'll probably never use it again.
Thank you for your honesty, sir. I guess you weren't paid for this review. On some of these youtube videos, you never know about this and whether the reviewer was being paid to say good things about the product being reviewed.
The sweet spot on any power saw is at the stop plate or also known as the fence. On a table saw the table is the fence for the power blade. On a mitre saw the back fence is the sweet spot for cutting. Otherwise you create kickback. On any chainsaw where the teeth grab the material is the sweet spot. Anywhere else causes kickback or pullback that can slap the fire out of you. Be careful and cut at the sweet spot for safer results. Enjoy!
You want the cs 1400 it has a normal chain and no self sharpening feature. Your bang on with that the self sharpen doesn't cut as well as a normal saw I wouldent get one ether if I had one I'd put standard chain on etc. Great video and informative you summed it up well 👍
@@neuromanglersI have the oregon cs1400 it's pretty much the same saw 2400watt's but with a normal bar and chain and without the sharpening stone there are holes etc where you could fit it on I won't be doing that tho 😉 I'm going to try it for saw milling so will let you know how it does. It cuts logs great with plenty of power.
I could see how that might be considered the issue. Chain was correctly tensioned. If you use that saw like you would use any other chain saw....you will notice the issue with excessive chatter
Such reviews are very useful to potential buyers. They show the difference between theory and practice. The design of the chain’s teeth, which allows the self-sharpening feature, causes the poor cutting characteristics. In other reviews there are reports about the bar-oiling system easily clogging up. For these reasons, I will not be purchasing this saw, but I may go for a different electric (Oregon) saw, and equip it with a carbide blade/chain, as I don’t want to spend a lot of time dismantling the saw, and re-sharpening the chain.
Having used the oregon cs1500 I would not use anything else . I feel this man has not adjusted the tension on the red dial .I would like to have seen the unboxing and assembly as there is something not adding up in this clip.
I suppose the issue is that I have used a lot of normal chain saws so I had expectations that this saw did not meet. If this is the only saw you have ever used, i can see that you may be happy with it..it is a sharp cutting saw
After one use, most of the teeth on mine broke off! I'd never had this happen EVER before on my electric chain saws! (I had a Poulan electric for years.) The teeth are very brittle or something. Different than a normal saw. I think it's a gimmick to get you to keep buying their chain/sharpener "system" over and over. I'm sending this back to Amazon today. Luckily I've still got a few days left to send it back!
Agree, this a problem saw. Chain jumped after 3 minutes of cutting light oak limbs. Should not have to adjust blade tension right out of the box. Unnecessarily complicated to mount and adjust chain. Would not buy this model.
I bought this saw about a month ago before I saw this video. Best chain saw I've ever owned.
Great to hear!
I bought the Bauer model looks the same and easy to take to store for replacement if need be. How’s it working for you? Any tips?

Oregon has concerns that you do not know how to properly operate this saw.
It does not cut like a standard chainsaw, anyone who uses it and compares the experience to a standard saw will agree there is a vast difference

@Gary Jones. You are right about that but thoes selfsharpening chains aren't very good.

Thanks, I agree. Have not seen a cs1400 but it probably is one of the better choices

Yep, the 1400 is a great saw. Love mine.
@@mattlawton4715how’s it holding up for you?
I have the same Chainsaw. The chain tensioner is really bad it loosen up as your cutting making the chain jump off.
I returned mine for a refund and purchased a different saw, similar but works without issues
@@neuromanglerswhich saw?
Did you figure out a solution
Did you tension the blade before you used it? Your chain tension was clearly wrong if the chain jumped off the bar.
I could see how that might be considered the issue.

inflation has made our money worthless, it was cheap and cuts well. i cant complain. i had a tree come down

NEVER CUT OVERHEAD -#1NO-NO with a chain saw... pointless to continue
thanks...I think I can see the reasoning behind that.
Why is that just the risk of the log falling on you?
