They are SO right about the difference being palpable having a female director on this film, even on top of having two female leads. There are no sexualised shots, no weird unnecessary stripping, no forced romance with a male lead; the established romance is a gay couple who have been together for a millennia, and the two women get to spend their time actually enacting the plot and having character-driven stories. I was looking up this movie it said On the coda at the beginning of The Old Guard's credits, Rucka said "In case of sequel, break glass. It’s very straightforward. You want another one? Here’s a way to get into it".[13] A sequel to the original graphic novel, The Old Guard: Force Multiplied, was published in 2019.[13] Theron has expressed her interest in a second film, saying: "Let's have a little resting period, but just given the fact that all of us really want to do it, I'm sure when it's the right time, we'll start the conversation."[24][36]
Kiki is so flawless and I'm so excited to see where her career goes from here because she did a phenomenal job, love the mentor mentee relationship with industry veteran Charlize.
literally the only criticisms i have for this film is the slightly unnecessary edm/pop music and the fact that we didnt get to see more of the immortal characters in the other centuries they lived through. also a lil disappointed we got a flashback for booker and andy (be it miniscule) but no flashback to the crusades where Nicky and Joe met.
Just watched this last night and absolutely loved it and now that I know it’s led with this much female presence on the film I love it even more!! Hoping for a sequel!

As Layne said, “I think we just gotta wait and see how it goes. Please, everybody, watch this, tell everybody to watch this. Cause I mean, we would all love to come back. Call us to come back and do it again.” Speaking before the release of “The Old Guard,” both Theron and Prince-Bythewood were cautiously optimistic about the possibility of a sequel.

I loved Charlize before this movie and came out of it loving Marwan! The whole cast is a delight and the director is the definition of get things done and get them right. ♥️
Andy is a mortal now... that shoud be intresting for part 2..
Gina Prince Brythewood made one of my fav movies of all time.
Amazing👏👏👏
This is my favorite movie of all time. I love how everyone gets along. I love this movie beyond measure and reason. ❤️
I LOVED this movie. Absolutely loved it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. There is just a force within it that makes you care about each character. More please
i fell inlove more with the movie after watching this. i hope this becomes a big franchise, i think it deserves so much recognition.
I wish there's a petition about the sequel
I think it's the sixth highest viewership ever for Netflix, so sequel is probably going to happen.
@@SunyiSideUp they better not change the cast I will be furious
@@lucyn3771 why would they? Cast changes aren't arbitrary and at this juncture, there's no reason to change anybody.
I was looking up this movie it said
On the coda at the beginning of The Old Guard's credits, Rucka said "In case of sequel, break glass. It’s very straightforward. You want another one? Here’s a way to get into it".[13] A sequel to the original graphic novel, The Old Guard: Force Multiplied, was published in 2019.[13]
Theron has expressed her interest in a second film, saying: "Let's have a little resting period, but just given the fact that all of us really want to do it, I'm sure when it's the right time, we'll start the conversation."[24][36]
Cant wait for the second installment!! I really enjoyed this!
Kiki is so flawless and I'm so excited to see where her career goes from here because she did a phenomenal job, love the mentor mentee relationship with industry veteran Charlize.
Enjoyed this movie all 4 times I watched it this past week. Can’t wait for sequel!
Please make a second one 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Please do a second part of this movieee!!! 😭💖 I love this movie 💖
literally the only criticisms i have for this film is the slightly unnecessary edm/pop music and the fact that we didnt get to see more of the immortal characters in the other centuries they lived through. also a lil disappointed we got a flashback for booker and andy (be it miniscule) but no flashback to the crusades where Nicky and Joe met.
It's a great movie, very well made and brilliantly acted. The talent oozes from every scene. Please please make a sequel. 🙏🙏🙏
Just watched this last night and absolutely loved it and now that I know it’s led with this much female presence on the film I love it even more!! Hoping for a sequel!
All that delicious feminine energy made this film extra BRILLIANT!
Matthias Schoenaerts 😍
Oh Dudley - how you've grown!
I need more of all of this!!
I never seen a movie like this so far...like the Fight scenes are pretty cool and fantastic i really amazed👍👌
And the the 2 actors nicky and joe they made the movie a new taste like i seriously fell in love in there chemistry in this movie.😍😍😍
There story in crusade plsss.😂
I’m so in love with this movie, particularly Joe and Nicky!
I really Love this movie.
Hoping for another season
please please please make a part 2!!!
We need like 10 more movies part for old guard.......and another 10 for joe and nicky😊😊
Netflix, come on, if you are going to make The Kissing Booth 2 (and 3, what the hell), please also invest in a continuation of a story and characters that are actually good.
I am very happy to see such a balanced team(see, not predominantly men, not predominantly women, just both) of professionals working in an action movie. I hope this is the future of film because it looks fantastic.
And I am beyond happy that the movie is getting such a good review. It deserves it, in my opinion.
Watching this for 3 nights in a row.. Love this movie and i love watching Charlize Theron..❤ GREAT MOVIE!!
Loved this movie🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿Ready for the next???
This movie was fantastic! The fight scenes were on point, well cast, beautifully shot and expertly directed! Sequels or tv series please, Netflix.
I NEED A SEQUEL. PLEEEEEAAAASSSSE!!!! Hello from the Philippines! Yey.
Charlize Theron has expressed her interest in a second film, saying: "Let's have a little resting period, but just given the fact that all of us really want to do it, I'm sure when it's the right time, we'll start the conversation."
Next part please
Luca was so adorable
Have a little faith! This will be a trilogy or 7 movies.. or series.. cant wait!!!
I wish they'd given Melling more scenes in the film. The comic version of Merrick was really evil, I think he could have done so well as that version of the character. But of course, I'm very happy with what we got in the film, I think everyone did so well with what they were given.
I loved it so muuuuch!! I really hope we get to see more of these characters
Extraction and The Old Guard is everything I need for my kind of action movie! Sam hargrave and Gina should work together🥰
I totally enjoyed this movie!!! Can't wait for Part 2👏👏👏
5:34 there you go, italian fans ❤️👍
This has to be the best movie in like forever !. Female lead or director or not. It's awesome, period! and it begs for sequels :D (yes more, they have all the time in the world)
Loved it. Great film. Roll on the sequel. 🕊❤️
THIS WAITING FOR THE SECOND ONE!!!
Please give The Old Guard a bigger budget for the sequel Netflix! Also please do a better soundtrack!
Soundtrack was the only thing I found lacking in the movie, they moved to sooooo many countries, and explored so many concepts and they all sounded like a high school party
I liked the soundtrack. Was it just me?
Agreed the music did not really go with the movie except maybe the last song . But besides that it was a great movie
The first one was 🔥 fire Iam ready see the old guard 2 Team Charlize theron
I love the way they put emotion into charracters . Living movie
It’s even more special to me because the actors that play Booker and joe are Dutch 😍
I mean Matthias speaks Dutch (and French) but he's not Dutch. He's Belgian. :)
SLV BEAUTY Owhh I didn’t know that! Sorry 😁
There is a novel series of this movie the author is Greg Rucka, In recent interviews, Theron, Layne and Prince-Bythewood all expressed interest in making a sequel. As Layne said, “I think we just gotta wait and see how it goes. Please, everybody, watch this, tell everybody to watch this. Cause I mean, we would all love to come back. Call us to come back and do it again.”
Speaking before the release of “The Old Guard,” both Theron and Prince-Bythewood were cautiously optimistic about the possibility of a sequel.
