There's a couple of details that I caught not mentioned in the video: 1. There's a painting that Nile partly uncovers in the cave at the same time she uncovers the Rodin, a copy of which is in the background of your vid at 10:16. It's very possible that this is a clue of a part of Andy's history of falling in love with a freed slave around the time of the Civil War which is shown prominently in the graphic novel. 2. Nicky fought in the Crusades after leaving priesthood. He's shown praying while in the helicopter and I think this is also why he greets the passersby in Somalia "Peace be with you."
Neil Rubenstein I drives me insane when they don’t pick up assailants weapons. It’s like when ppl sit down to eat and never get to touch their food before something happens and they have to enter some action sequence(or they just talk the whole time and never eat the food). Such a pet peeve of mine. A useless one lol but still..
This movie has definitely set up a universe I could commit myself to watching. I could see others movies being made where they exist in the background while creating a whole new story to watch, but even a small cameo would suffice. Anything else they decide to make, I'm already waiting for it👍
Also fun fact the 1978 nuclear event he referred to was a Russian submarine about to launch a nuke that would have caused world war 3 but it was supposed to be a unanimous decision and one of the generals didn't agree(the one whose grandpa Andy saved)
"Those shoes" were all child-sized. Emphasized even more with the couple standing right next to the pile to give a direct comparison to their combat boots while the leader picks the door. They were a "nice touch" because after seeing this detail, they were convinced that they were going to rescue little girls and not running into a trap. Edit: Also what a strong picture is it that of THOSE TWO of the whole team standing guard over a pile of children shoes?!
I had a different take on the implication behind the shoes. I didn't think it meant the girls were dead (if they were, why would anyone bother to make a pile out of their shoes?). I thought the girls were still inside, and their captors had removed their shoes to make it harder for the girls to run away.
This movie was so good! I can’t wait to see a sequel! Reminded me so much of the game Lost Odyssey which all those immortals and how tragic it is in a way to be immortal.
ITS CRAZY HOW AS SOON AS YOU MENTIONED THE GIRL WHO DROWNED THE LAST SCENE LITERALLY CLICKED IN MY HEAD RIGHT BEFORE YOU SAID IT, I REALLY HOPE THEY MAKE A PT2
Although it triggered my Just Right OCD, for example when Nile got shot in the back of the head, healed back, and her braids were okay. -.- wtf movie? She is clearly suppose to have a patch of hair missing. But I really really did like it, more than I expected to, and I came into the movie expecting to like it. Great concept and I'm anxious for more, much much more. God bless
Looking forward to the sequel. Although Im not a big fan of Booker and Queen as antagonists. By the way, I hope they make a solid flash back (not that flahsy) of queen narrating how she died over and over for however long she was in the ocean. I want them to nail that horrible concept in our minds. Then we can move on to the hopefully fascinating story of what she did during the years after her escape.
This movie is the perfect way to kick off a series. They have "explained" away all the high $$$ stars, and set up a young new cast to take over. I really hope there is a series from this!
Quins drowning still haunts me. It really disturbed me the only film that had me up night was Nightmare on Elm street and that's only because we all need to sleep lol If it was just said I could dismiss it but when they showed it my brain just imploded with that thought UUURRRGGGGHHH Part 2 anyone
i love this movie alot!! netflix really surprised me with this one. never saw that coming... i hope there will be a part 2 real quick! and why not a 3th? make it a trioligy. and correct me if im wrong but in the comics andy never lost her powers right? but yah this is how you keep it intresting also quinth was never put in an iron maiden in the comics, she fell overboard a ship in a storm or something. so i wonder how she got out the iron maiden? did someone on the ship fished her out later in secret? or did it rust and broke? or a storm/current moved her to shore?
Thought this movie would've been better as a short TV series. There's so much context and back story to mess with that would've been enjoyable for viewers, even though I understand that we're supposed to be like Nile and new to everything. Overall decent movie, but one gripe is music choice and when they were used. Some scenes did not need music and others could've used better choices of music to fit the scene.
Thanks for the breakdown, I wasn't aware there was a graphic novel 🤔 I thought it was original content but with relatively low budget and cheesy a bit, especially for the period scenes. Glad that I missed a lot. Hope they make the next one a bit more coherent.
Hey Eric, I was wondering if you guys are going to do a breakdown of Doom Patrol. I know it is very niche. But I think it could be good to look at DC's TV Deadpool attempt.
It was surprisingly good. I heard talk of it and grew curious. I just saw so I was able to follow this review flawlessly 😁...Good review, especially wit the fact that I didn't know it was a comic 🤷♂️
Big thanks to Ridge for supporting the channel! Here’s the site if you want to check out their wallets and bags! > ridge.com/NEWROCKSTARS
Got to like the ridge
Hi
Can u checkout netflix Series called dark
Its full with easter eggs and time travel stuff
My biggest question is Andy gonna grow old now physically or not but can’t heal ?
I was surprised too😲😲😲

They went to Sudan not Somalia
That underwater coffin waking up and drowning over and over makes me wanna yak.
Theres no way that thin iron would last more then a few decades in the water. Still horrible though.
It originally trapped in a sunken ship, but trapped in a iron maiden and drowned to death is more cruel.
Dying every second... for 500 years will make you insane
its not real.
@@ajaxashford4815 Phew, thank you for saving me, my White Knight!
I LOVE that they pick up the ammo. It’s like I wrote this.
I mention the ammo thing in my review also... I first saw it in John Wick and now I see it all the time
Neil Rubenstein I drives me insane when they don’t pick up assailants weapons. @@nekograce7914 THE FOOD THING IS SO FRUSTRATING lol

I was literally looking for this lastnight and was let down you hadn’t broke the film down, a day later... what timing is that! Mad
Omggg Harry Potters cousin! That's why he looked so familiar. I couldn't pin it lol.
Yeah... I too felt the same
Happened to me too hehe
Merrick the Muggle lol 😂
Also fun fact the 1978 nuclear event he referred to was a Russian submarine about to launch a nuke that would have caused world war 3 but it was supposed to be a unanimous decision and one of the generals didn't agree(the one whose grandpa Andy saved)
Charlize Theron would've made an awesome Captain Marvel, just saying
agreed, instead we got a toxic feminist
Exactly
Neon Rider you're a bum
Say it louder!!!
They probably didn't consider because she's older.
"He who saves one life saves the world," is not just an old saying. It is scripture. Both in the Talmud and the Koran.
Well. That's very old.
Goddamn
Was so excited when I see there was going to be a part two... This movie was great... Can't wait for the next one

The A-Team made up of Highlander(s); I like it.
I love the realism they add to the movie. You're immortal but not immortal. Death still eventually finds them.
Remember Highlander.....
The video cut to an advert just as Andy said “motherf-“. 😂
😂
Same 😂
Same
When?? Can you please give the time on the video?
atharv shukla 1:10
umbrella academy, you should review it, because season 2 is almost out
Always so impressed with the level of detail you guys catch. I don't think I could have picked up on all these even if I were immortal...
Damn last time I was this early they were Old Rockstars
I'm sad that made me laugh abit

Love you Eric Voss and the New Rockstars Crew!
I love this movie I've already watched it like 8 times and I tell everyone I know to watch it lol
I was waiting in this. Right after looking at the movie I said I have have to see what NR says about this.....I waited 2 weeks
Such a bad ass movie. Gosh I loved this so much
Eriks transitions to the ad are improving.
This movie was so good! I can’t wait to see a sequel! Reminded me so much of the game Lost Odyssey which all those immortals and how tragic it is in a way to be immortal.
It was a rough movie to be honestly, I enjoyed it mostly because I think it has a lot of potential.
would have been better as a series in my opinion
I saw this movie when it came out on Netflix. Amazing!!
I’ve never clicked on a video so quick. I love Old Guard!!
I missed every detail, because I didn’t know this movie existed.
Netflix really smacks it in your face when you open it
How dare you 👀
Give it a watch its a pretty good movie I’m glad I discovered it
You’re better off.
then why are you here
Copley lives in Surrey where Harry Potter and the Dursleys lived too
"Mother- "
Have you wondered why you haven't earned enough money this year.
🤣😂😂
I didn't see this video coming,
Charlize Theron and Mila Jovovich should be in the MCU! They're priceless action stars!
Erirk do a breakdown of Extraction
I mean you know how it must have been being underwater for 500 years then to resurface and feel thirsty
Dudley was also one of the petty villains in His Dark Materials on HBO
I was kinda entertained by Floor is lava 😂
I really hope their gonna make a sequel
ITS CRAZY HOW AS SOON AS YOU MENTIONED THE GIRL WHO DROWNED THE LAST SCENE LITERALLY CLICKED IN MY HEAD RIGHT BEFORE YOU SAID IT, I REALLY HOPE THEY MAKE A PT2
Loved the movie, The action was amazing and I loved the story and how they gave depth to all the characters
This is the video I needed and didn't even know I needed it👍🏾
I would very much enjoy a sequel or on-going series with these characters in this world.
The movie was great, I like it.👏🏻🔥
The action was awesome, nice long flowing takes, everything easy to see. I loved it for that alone

The bird at 10:28 is a reference to the common fact that birds are not real and are actually government drones.
That Dudley edit was amazing
😂
Thank you so much for doing this breakdown 🙏🙏🙏
Eric Voss is truly the King of Segways.
It needs a part two
Did anyone else notice that the painting at 10:16 is the same as the one in the Abandoned Mine that Nile found?
Over 6,700 years old... Could you imagine living 150x longer than the average human? Insane. It would just be a lifetime of hurt imo.
This man has the best transfers into ads I swear
You must not be subbed to LinusTechTips.
NR could not wait to get this juicy content summarizations . you genius some of biscuits . well played .
the movie was great i was so happy they was goona make the second film but the only bad thing is i dont want to wait almost 2 years for the second 😢😞
This movie was awesome I am watching it again tonight with my wife

This definitely needs a sequel
I mention the ammo thing in my review also... I first saw it in John Wick and now I see it more often.
It reminds of the immortal villain in DC who lived since the prehistoric time. Vandal Savage!
Merrick the muggle 😂😂😂
Y'all should do an Easter egg video for Constantine with Keanu Reeves
Hey, you missed the fact that Filup Molina looks like Keane there. 😂😂
Just finished watching the film and I was blown away. Can’t wait for the next movie !!
Watched it not expecting much but was blown away! Great flick!
You and I remember São Paulo very differently.
So glad you broke this down
Sooo hyped for part 2

and correct me if im wrong but in the comics andy never lost her powers right? but yah this is how you keep it intresting
also quinth was never put in an iron maiden in the comics, she fell overboard a ship in a storm or something.
so i wonder how she got out the iron maiden? did someone on the ship fished her out later in secret? or did it rust and broke? or a storm/current moved her to shore?
