I love what Gina said about the violence being unapologetic but not celebratory. It truly sets the movie apart and gives the character a sense of badass honourability. They've been doing this for hundreds to thousands of years yet don't take particular pleasure in carnage. Also, it adds to how 'economical' they are with their weapons and in their fights. Especially in the last fight scene; no move is unnecessary and no bullet is wasted. They're lethal in their precision. I really enjoyed that
No wonder all fight sequences were brilliant. I hope in the next film (or series) netflix gives you more time and budget. Ive Never been so hyped for an "unannounced" franchise! Hope it happens!
So spot on - it been many years since I was so hyped about any movie or series as this, it is absolutely brilliant, and I just stumpled upon it on Netflix
The fight sequences were excellent! I loved how they put emphasize on their teamwork as well and how well they fight together instead of just heavily focusing on one character alone through the whole movie like in a lot of other action films. This is actually what thrills me the most about this movie - that we get to know each character on his/her own and that their personality as well as their relationship with one another shines through in the action sequences as well as the quiet moments.
In every fight scene, you can see how well honed they are as a team by how easily they dance around each other and how they pass weapons and clips to each other without even looking. It's easy to believe they really have been fighting together for a thousand years.
these behind the scenes videos are great, I love watching movies but I also love to see how they were made! To hear the people that work behind the scenes to talk about their work is amazing!!!
Loved this film. Watched it twice so far and will watch it many times over next few years. Also just watched Extraction with Hemsworth and that was great too. Netflix are making some truely excellent action films.
Loved this movie. Action was amazing and the premise was so well delivered. Wasn’t cheesy or forced like so many other films with immortals in them. You could feel the weight of the character’s centuries of experience but they were still human. Every character had uniqueness. I especially liked Joe’s monologue about his love for Nikki when they were captured in the van. I’d love to see a sequel!
love this, and i especially loved the breakdown about the squibs, and the Stunt Coordinator showing how he really has to have not just the actual fight but the camera angles and such in mind when designing the choreo
This is HOW you make an action movie: it has to seem real enough without being gory, which is a balance most filmmakers fail to strike. This movie also stayed true to the source material. Respect to Gina Prince-Blythewhite the director for bringing to life Greg Rucka's creation. This makes me believe that even Lazarus (Greg's comic book) can be done and be done well as a movie or TV series
All action scenes were AWESOME!!! Had to watch a second time to catch what I missed. Better than JW3 as it was with 4-5 different actors/skillsets (depending on scene) versus 2 in JW3. Freakin' Great Job!!!
I really love this film!! And that's why I was so hooked when fighting scenes comes up!! They all did great!! I'm excited for the sequel!! Hopefully they'll do it.
Super awesome!!! I can’t stop admiring everything about this film! And going back and forth to the delicate shots of the casts and their gracefully brutal fight/war scenes! Hoping for more to come!
The movie was great. I loved the beginning when you and your team were ambushed, the you got pissed off. You just keep getting better as a performer with every role.
One thing that wasnt touched on that puts it above other gritty fight scenes is how they didnt sacrifice visibility. Soooooooo many action scenes especially now adays (looks over at aos and got ending) have scenes so dark u literally cant see wat happens until fans come out with lightened edits. But this scene while being super dark doesnt sacrifice visibility, it makes a point to make sure u can see wat is happening and its SOOOOO refreshing being able to actually enjoy a dark lit action scene and not b frustrated
Enjoyed the film, but found the fight choreography way to smooth and rehearsed, you could almost predict where the next shot, blow, an attack was going to come from. also found it to be more like a TV pilot episode than a feature film ..in my humble opinion
Didn't find this movie entertaining at all. Action wise, it's good but its not there with the others. Story is cliche and cringe and the rest is dull in the end
That's like saying atomic bombs are just tools. And telling people to get over their existence when it's only there to cause destruction. Some things are not necessary to be made, or necessary to exist at all, because all it does is create the reason for death and hurting other people. All it does is a more efficient way to take a life.

I hope the crew had a lot of fun making this film. I certainly had a lot of fun watching it.

I enjoyed Extraction a lot as well and Hemsworth was great in that. I watched The Old Guard and enjoyed every minute of it.
Give us a sequel!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love that silhouette 9:40 so much and the reflection against the floor.

Combat scenes were so neat! Will re-watch this movie soon again. I do not re-watch stuff usually..
I am loving all of the behind the scenes videos for this movie.

What a wonderful work of art.

I like how Andy's Axe makes a sound like Thors hammer, Mjolnir.

🙄 AR is short for arma-light not assault rifle. Also, guns are just tools that have no objective moral qualities. Get over yourself.
