I'm 71 and started kitesurfing in 2019 only - very late, isn't it? But I stil want to be a kiter, a good, not necessarilly professional, but enough skilled to have fun. I have found slide transition very difficult, so I am trying to find the best support and instruction from best kiters - this is the one. The best, in clear english, fantastic, step by step video. Thanks.
Brilliant doing so at your age. I thought I was too old to start at 45 years. Until then I thought only young people were doing this, but now I've seen lots of older people too. Including a few people in their 60s and 70s
Full respect dude. I’m only 36 and found it very very difficult to get to the waterstart… I had about 18 hours of lessons over 2 years to get there… plus studying videos and also I snowboard and wakeboard so thought I should find it easy. It’s so worth it though when you finally get riding … now I’m trying to master the transition. It’s so fun having all these steps
Gosh! I thought I was an old Kitesurfer at 65! You’re an example to us all! I’ve been learning for two years. My transitions are getting a bit better thanks to videos like this one.
As I said I started at 2019, now I am 74+ and I am independent rider. This month I am going to try jumping in Egipt. All this just for my pleasure and fun. My advice for all in my age - keep trying and have fun.
Great video. One dilemma I have is whether to watch the kite or watch the board. It’s difficult to do both. Probably I should know where the kite is, but as a beginner (ish) I find it helpful to check where the pesky kite actually is!
That's the beauty of parking the kite and not moving it until the end, no need to multi task. Check it's in the right place, sort yourself and the board, and then you can bring that pesky kite through:)
Great advice, probably the best on the internet! Turning fast is crucial for many reasons. Unfortunately, I tried to turn fast at winds > 25 mph and got airborne. Maybe I did not sheat out enough or raised the kite too fast or both. After my landing the kite continued to loop though no visible tangle of lines was detected, so I had to release it. I still don't quite understand why it was looping.

Make sure you slide before moving the kite. If you're still on an edge it's like jumping!
