      It's ok if it waves a bit, it may be a tension issue? Yes, it should lay fairly flat though .. as flat as a crochet hat can lay, that is 😄

    THANK YOU for this amazing pattern I searched all over for a simple and fast pattern that had the look I wanted and this was PERFECT! Its absolutely AMAZING in so many variations and the pattern van be varied to work with different sizes of yarn and hook without having to do a thing. Ive always been a knitter and only learnt the basics of crotchet by a book which had me doing so many things wrong but since getting back to making things after years busy in other creative activities I really wanted to crotchet and iys summer in Australia right now and I'm Autistic and wear a skater beanie literally 99% of the time... I always hate going without it in summer and end up still wearing it at times and melting. This patger gave me the perfect replacement that felt like my beanje but was a bucket hay like I wanted but just also wasn't feeling... and for once I'm going to be sun smart too! Thanks so much for sharing your work!! I've such better grasp on the basics (being that I can knit lace but barely make a crotet granny square haha) and am already making my second hat!!

    Hi, thank you for this instructional video and the pattern - very helpful. Am making hats in child size. I found the trickiest part to keep track of number of stitches each round.... lots of counting.
    The yarn I'm using is a 60 cotton/40 acrylic mix, big stripe colours, 8ply, 4mm hook. Yarn is soft, doesn't split, easy to work with and doesn't stretch, so great! Turned out nice. Then I purchased another colour, 100% cotton, 8 ply. It feels soft, but it is stretching like crazy, so the rounds are quite loose. I persisted to the brim part, but when I tried to do the round FLO, each stitch stretched out of shape even more. What should I do? Use a smaller crochet hook? What size in mm should I be using to have a nice tight finish? Your advice would be appreciated. BTW. It's really fun.... I'm hooked!🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🪡😊

    Hey, I have a question, when you begin working on the body, what can I do so there’s no ridge between the top and the body? I’m doing this for my friend and she wants the hat to follow from the top to bottom and here there’s like a ridge line where you can tell the difference from the hat to top of the hat. Thank you so much for making this!

    • @sleepy_grove
      @sleepy_grove 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From the written instructions it seems as though you’d continue to increase the same way as you did on the top. So if you have 90 stitches before the brim, the first increase on the brim would be to 100.

      What!? I thought you were using 4mm for some reason... No wonder its taken me so many more stitches to make an adult sized hat 😅

    Does that chain at the beginning of the rows count as a stitch?

    Mine isn’t going straight down? The body is flowing out and it looks like those French hats. How do I fix that?

    • @chaysiecrochet
      @chaysiecrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Raneem, if you send me a picture, you can email me at yarnwars@gmail.com. I can get a better idea of what you mean. Mine was flatter, but as you see in the picture, a couple of little waves. Nothing a little steam from the iron won't quick fix if it's not crazy wavy.

      The only thing I can think is possibly your tension Iva... what are you using for hook / yarn. You may have to go down a hook size?

      yarnwars.com/crochet-bucket-hat-pattern-back-to-the-sixties-we-go/ this took me so long to figure out, I really like written patterns better but I only watch videos if I'm confused with the term :)

      Probably crocheting too tight, loosen up your stitches slightly

    Accidentally ended up with 90 stitches right before starting the brim, trying to figure out where I added extra stitches 😭😂
