I hate it when defense attorneys call the prosecutor “the government “. Trying to make the jury feel sorry for the defendant with the big bad government coming after her😡
So insulting that she is claiming innocence. She was tied to her phone for 40 min straight! Couldn't watch the trial. I wanna know what those texts were! What was so important lady?!!can't even listen to this jerk def atty
She turned down a plea of no jail time because even with no jail time, she’d still be outst of the school system and a done deal for many jobs moving forward with a wrap sheet. She figured this way she would appear innocent and have hopes of keeping her employment. No feelings toward Ollie’s family, no admission of poor judgement causing death, it’s all about her and no one else. She’ll need to sleep with that for the rest of her life, a prison sentence in itself. Let’s hope she didn’t teach her students a 101 class on how to lie, how to cover it up, and how get away with wrong -doing. That’s the biggest shame of all with this teacher and her false narrative.
Unfortunately we have all fallen short at times over the years. I was riding my motorcycle 70 mph and a driver fell asleep at the wheel coming towards me from the opposite direction and almost killed me. I survived it and fortunately I can walk. For most people the most dangerous activity is driving on America’s dangerous highways and byways. I’m not making any excuses for anyone but we all know chit happens that could have been prevented. It’s part of life.
How many times previous had Oliver (God rest his soul) and Amy taken this exact route... but that particular day the trees were obstructing her vision? Prayers for Oliver's family 🙏💔
She might not have been texting at the time of the accident but for goodness sake, please say it,... She was reading a text, that is why she did not see him . Really???😮
In any event that charges stemming from obstructive texting... still would've been brought about against the defendant, then her erasing of such messages would at least not seem anything of extra-additionally condemning. However, with preliminary reports claimng (an internet source anyways) that Amy was driving about 30 miles per hour (evidence of abiding by the law that is, at the current time) and her last text message sent 11 seconds before the unfortunate collision... that said, 11 seconds at 30 miles per hour is still considerably far away from the unfortunate victim. And with even as little 7 seconds away... the prosecutor proposes that Amy still should've been able to see Oliver, perhaps possible, indeed. However, is "should've been able to see Oliver" concept... pertaining to in the midst of the defendant distinctly trying to make view for herself (or well going out of her way to do so that is)...(?) instead of taking things (the gradual change of visuals) as they come... as drivers can have a tendancy to do. And also keeping in consideration... the alleged evidence of other obstructive factors such as a fellow vehicle blocking one's foresight (that said... the event of Oliver also not seeing Amy's vehicle could in itself even raise significant reasonable doubt).... I'd like to think amyways, that anyone driving the speed limit or under in a 40mph zone, would be more likely to secondly have enough sense to foresee any collisions of which are generally avoidable. Everything taken together though... as tempting as it can be to hold obstructive texting and manipulating phone data especially for that matter...against Amy... the proposals of her driving 30 mph, as well as the 11 seconds before... and the reconstructionists (I believe) claiming that there was or at least could have been significant obstructive visual factors... then that would all seem to tip the scales over to a not guilty verdict.

She should have taken her non-confined plea deal with a hail mary and gratitude. She deserves a life in H for putting this family thru a trial!!

It's not an accident, she chose to be distracted. Guilty

Defense atty is too loud and obnoxious.

She only faces up to a year in jail.
Justice fail.

Really???😮
It was a horrific accident and both families need to just heal.
I doubt very seriously if little Ollie’s family will ever heal!!
Never heard of speaking or texting while driving...is this actually legal ?
@scott very obnoxious
@robin agree, disgusting
How much time is she looking at if found guilty?
One year is the absolute maximum.... ridiculous isn't it?
@ Seriously!! That’s insane
1 yr max...if given any time at all. She turned down a plea that involved no jail or prison. But she is that selfish to put the family thru this trial
@@bobwithano5453the state cld hv charged 2nd degree manslaughter. Cowards!
@@mattthompson9160 Huh, that's kinda nuts.
I make a comment next time

Obviously a citation and perhaps probation would appear appropriate however.
