Mexican ceviche is very good, Peru's is a whole 'nother level tho. The bigger chunks of everything in the peruvian give it a better texture, feels like you're eating a proper meal. The mexican always felt more like a salad or a dip, like pico de gallo with diced seafood.

Okay guys now let's make a comparison between the Peruvian taco and the Mexican taco. The Peruvian taco doesn't exist, Mexican ceviche doesn't exist either.
In Mexico there are different varieties of ceviche and it began to be made with the arrival of the Spaniards from the coastal parts of Andalusia and the Canary Islands, these having Arab origins left that type of cuisine with seafood, the difference lies in that the seafood that began to be made in Mexico was accompanied by ingredients domesticated in Mexico such as Tomato, Jalapeño, Avocado and ingredients brought by the Spaniards such as Onion, Cilantro, Cucumber. Creating a small variety of ceviche styles, the best known in Mexico are: 1.- Acapulco style ceviche 2.- Ensenada style ceviche 3.- Colima style ceviche 4.- Sinaloa style ceviche 5.- Veracruz style ceviche 6.- Cancún style ceviche 7.- Sierra ceviche considered the best ceviche worldwide

The imitation of the real and authentic Peruvian ceviche is acceptable, but they should give it another name... just don't try to impose your personal tastes on people who are not even on the list of famous chefs or food critics. Nobody cares about their opinions...
In Peru there are many varieties of Ceviche, the one you have tasted is the classic, but there are other richer ones. And according to the videos I saw from Mexico, they don't have as many varieties as in Peru, but they are not the same preparation, so they are different dishes with the same name. Peruvian Ceviche never adds potato ... maybe sweet potato, but never potatos. Mexican guy was so boilingpoints with his mexican dip ... Peruvian Ceviche is superior level.
I'm from Peru: To eat ceviche you must use a spoon and mix the ingredients in it and bring them to your mouth, the idea is to mix the flavors when chewing. And the sweet potato that we call CAMOTE here is used to bite it at times to reduce the spiciness if it has too much.

Aguachiles 🔥
Isn’t aguachile a type of ceviche?
@@Fliprrr no , there many kinds of ceviches in Mexico , ceviche de camarón , ceviche de pescado , ceviche mixto which includes octopus 🐙 shrimp 🦐 and fish 🐠. BUT aguachiles is are clearly it’s own thing.

Lol I love the papa comment xD. I say the same thing bout the tostada, avocado, tomatoes and overcooked seafood… they don’t belong in ceviche. Cultural 😂
Yes they do
@@CalmBuffalo-gk3fiThey definitely don't. As a peruvian it sounds kinda disgusting. I'd accept it if it had a different name, but ceviche??? No.

Perú all the way. I wonder if it is ceviche mixto. Plus aji can be added is optional. I prefer it. There is a variety with Peruvian ceviche. Que viva el Peru!!!!!
Is it usually spicy?? Vanesa's reaction was too funny. I've never had Spicy Peruvian ceviche though!
@@josephmartinez5574 it depends. People can have with or without. I know that with some restaurants u can request it. But this is from personal experience.
I once knew someone who thought that celery was spicy, only to learn that the 'tingling' was an allergic reaction to celery. The same could be happening to Vanessa with one of the ingredients in the Peruvian ceviche 👀 👀
I’ve never had Peruvian food till I met my gf. She’s Peruvian and seriously the best food ever!
Aji is a MUST. In Peru, for a ceviche to be considered one, it should have at least these 5 ingredients: Raw fish or seafood, onions, lime juice, salt and ají. Yes you can request it with no spiciness but at it´s core, ceviche must have aji
Mexican ceviche is very good, Peru's is a whole 'nother level tho. The bigger chunks of everything in the peruvian give it a better texture, feels like you're eating a proper meal. The mexican always felt more like a salad or a dip, like pico de gallo with diced seafood.
Well, ceviche is Peruvian. It’s cute and an honor that other countries like it so much that they have their own version
@@angu15*fish ceviche is but not shrimp and pulpo ceviche. That’s Mexican.

@@georgedepalma429 yea right 😂 Where?? The shrimp and pulpo ceviche that I always see is either Mexican or even Centeral American. I hardly ever see any shrimp or pulpo ceviche at Peruvian restaurants. It’s ALWAYS fish. Leche de Tigre, which is ok (I prefer ceviche de atún from Mazatlán). Also, who other than Peruvians eat their supposed shrimp or pulpo ceviche? That says it all. Peruvian ceviche is traditionally fish, plain and simple.
It surprised me when they said mexican ceviche lacked in flavour, the mexican ceviche I know is drown in lemon and accompanied with a specific kind of salsa exclusive for sea food
It's because they had the Peruvian Ceviche first , you can't help to compare it after that

@vanessasirias Ojo que that 'spicy' sensation you were feeling could be an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in the Peruvian ceviche. It could have been an allergic 'tingle' instead of a spice 'tingle' 👀 👀
I was wondering about that too.
Peruvians use a lot of MSG even in their ceviche. To some, it gives a bad sensation in the mouth.

I would also like to add that this isn’t that fair. Mexico has so many types of the ceviche, they needed to come with a lemony spicy Mexican version to compete with Peru’s.
So does Peru, the most famous is the Lima version, but other regions have their own way of preparing it.

Okay guys now let's make a comparison between the Peruvian taco and the Mexican taco. The Peruvian taco doesn't exist, Mexican ceviche doesn't exist either.
Potato in a peruvian ceviche? which gringo made it?
As a peruvian Mexican ceviche is the best!! From the state of Sinaloa 🔥🔥🔥
Creating a small variety of ceviche styles, the best known in Mexico are:
1.- Acapulco style ceviche
2.- Ensenada style ceviche
3.- Colima style ceviche
4.- Sinaloa style ceviche
5.- Veracruz style ceviche
6.- Cancún style ceviche
7.- Sierra ceviche considered the best ceviche worldwide
what do you guys gave them if they didnt taste lemon and spice in the mexican ceviche?
as a master ceviche guy ill never trust a gringo or a north american ceviche made ever best ones are in the california states of mexico culiacan sonora , i cant deal with the potatoe plus some ceviches need to be made fresh once you freeze something it never taste the same
Mexico is the best in everything!!!
Peruvian crviche hace much more varieties than Mexican, ge is just ignorant.
The imitation of the real and authentic Peruvian ceviche is acceptable, but they should give it another name... just don't try to impose your personal tastes on people who are not even on the list of famous chefs or food critics. Nobody cares about their opinions...
Aguachile mexican beats all the peruvian food and im from peru😅
In Peru there are many varieties of Ceviche, the one you have tasted is the classic, but there are other richer ones. And according to the videos I saw from Mexico, they don't have as many varieties as in Peru, but they are not the same preparation, so they are different dishes with the same name. I'm from Peru: To eat ceviche you must use a spoon and mix the ingredients in it and bring them to your mouth, the idea is to mix the flavors when chewing. And the sweet potato that we call CAMOTE here is used to bite it at times to reduce the spiciness if it has too much.
