Thanks for this!! about 4k miles into my performance blue 6-spd, ordered in Nov right after your initial track review. It is an absolute joy to drive, every day. Early morning commute in "eco" mode to sneak around and do a reasonable approximation of a "normal" car. Most of the other times in N custom, with steering light and suspension soft for the reality of NY state roads. Just finished a 600 mile round trip over the weekend to the tune about 34mpg in eco---- with a quick pop to N mode for a few entertaining bursts on some back roads. At 54yrs old, shamelessly blast and let off through underpasses to do my best Seb Loeb anti-lag impressions with a BANG. I just love every minute in this thing!
Just got my DCT, Cyber Grey version last week. This car was clearly designed by folks who see driving as something much more than a point-a-to-point-b exercise. It's an absolute gem.
Saw one today in a parking lot for the very first time in Charlotte, NC. Owner was getting in and I asked, how do you like it? Said he loved it. Ordered from a dealership in Charlotte and said it took about 3 months to get. Not to bad. He’s only put 87 miles on it so far. Was white with tinted windows. Sharp car! Looks sweet with the red accents, as well. Nice video guys!
I have a Beemer M and I bought the Elantra N for my son that wanted one so bad! But after taking his car for a spin i realized that is a heck of a car! If I was younger that would it be the car I want. Just like him!
What a great bunch of guys. I had the pleasure of meeting Mason at a Hyundai N Drive day. These guys along with Hyundai are seriously kicking ass!! With that said, loving my Elantra N, it is a premier drivers car. If you don't have one, I would rate it 9.7/10, so get one!
Hi everyone, I get my Elantra N in Feb 12, now have 4700 miles, is my daily driver car, is amazing car, I have the opportunity to drive in Road Atlanta, feel amazing, like a race car, great chassis, great brakes and same economical like my old Kia Forte GT. In the road trip to Atlanta, 3 hot laps in Road Atlanta and comeback to home I get 360 miles in one single tank and 32 mpg in highway. In my daily driving I get between 25 - 28mpg.
I never thought I'd have to pre-order a Hyundai AND have to wait as long as I have for it to arrive (6 months and counting--black 6-speed). Interesting times and a great car! Keep the reviews of fun, affordable cars coming!
@@BrianMakse 6 months in and "we'll let you know when we know" is the best they can offer. Watching your reviews is like watching someone else eating the steak you've ordered after fasting all day. Keep 'em coming!
@@duncanmclellan5479 I ordered literally days after Brian's first vid in November, got it late March-- absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way, hang in there!
@@zxmurph1 two things I'm skeptical about: ride quality when all you want to do is commute and interior parts quality. How would you rate them? (Glad you are enjoying your N!)
@@duncanmclellan5479 regarding both commuting ride and interior quality...... I guess you could say it's all relative. I spent almost 200k miles collectively in both a '14 and '17 Fiesta ST and absolutely loved them- with the dampers set to soft on the N it seems like an absolute S-class to me in comparison lol- it is also a much more substantial vehicle (wheelbase etc) that I would find it odd that any enthusiast that signed up would somehow find its ride quality anything but very agreeable. Interior quality has it where it counts for me-- great steering wheel, great seats, great shifter, quick and intuitive user interfaces, etc.... any other "cheap" plastics don't bother me-- I see them and instead I "see" Michelin PS4s, an electronic limited slip, and massively capable brakes. On the daily, the extra work they put into making the chassis stiff, solid and responsive translates into a solid and secure feel in normal driving.
I have been attending at least six IMSA events each year for ten years now (reformed NASCAR fan). When BHAS began running Hyundai's I got interested in the N series TCR's. I began my quest for an Elantra N at Daytona in 2020 BC (before covid) with no success (Even after Mike Lewis and Taylor Hagler won the TCR championship in 2021, dealers had no knowledge of the N cars or BHAS). Finally, at Lime Rock Park in July of 2021, I walked into the BHAS garage and requested information on how to obtain an Elantra N. One of the drivers told me as of December first I could go to my dealer and order one. I did and on Valentines Day 2022 a white DCT arrived. I have 6k+ miles on her now (I'd have more but she's not my daily driver as winters in the NE are hard on performance cars) and she is by far the most fun I've had on four wheels. That's saying a lot since I'll be 64 soon. But I still don't think Hyundai corporate does enough marketing to support the N cars and their impressive racing record. The Hyundai Elantra N is the best kept secret in motorsports.
I've been interested in this car for over a year. I have followed every video, road test , track test and have seen the TCR cars on track winning consistently. I also looked at every Albert Biermann interview I could find and have been impressed. In the end I bought a Honda Civic Si 7 months ago because the Elantra N had not hit the showrooms at the time- just like the Si's they probably go from the transporter to the customer's garage never seeing a showroom. I think it was fate that led to me getting a call from a local Hyundai dealer a few days after visiting the Hyundai booth at the Watkins Glen race where I provided my email and phone number in return for a nice tee shirt The dealership call informed me they had a white one with the DCT coming in soon. ( BTW the Elantra N of Mark Wilkins and Robert Wickins won the Michelin Pilot Challenge race.) A deal was struck on the phone and I will be trading in the Honda for the Hyundai as soon as the car arrives around August 1st. I have no bad words for the Honda- if I could afford it I would keep it but the Hyundai offers that much more performance and sound! I can't wait to drive it. Thanks Brian for a unique review with Mark and Mason. Sure they are going to speak highly of the car, but having driven many performance cars over the years, from the technical explanation of the car's dynamics and handling characteistics they and the car are the real deal.
@@brewyawn3394 The Elantra N is a much more fun and engaging car to drive. I would add that for all the rave reviews on the Civic’s interior, I like the interior in the Elantra better.
