My Dada, Dadi and Ami, Abu both groups are first cousins. We're three sisters and born with genetic disease. Our eyesight is too weak that we aren't able to see clearly even with very thick glasses. Our brother is fine, but we can't say that these marriages don't affect. They do.

    In Hinduism
Both girls and boys parents must have different "gotra" otherwise same gotra means they are sister and brother.
Gotra is like family tree name.
If girl parent and boys parent (one of them in bothsides) have same gotra then we cancelled the marriage. Even they are related to 15th generation. Marriage is not allowed.
    Gotra is a perfect system.

Yes it is permitted but its only a permission but not an order. So if you merry your cousin then at least have a madical check up. There should be no shame in it. Have you ever thought of permission to have 4 wives. Now tell me how many people take advantage of this permission??????
Remember that quran is in Arabic and prophet Muhammad P. B. U. H was also an Arab. Now it was quite common in Arab culture to have as many wives as one wanted. You could have. 10,20.30 or 40. That is if you can afford it. So islam only made it legal up to 4, but with very strong conditions. Therefore most people don't do it but those who are in need they do it. For example if for some reason your 1st wife can not give birth or is physical ill. In that case you would marry again but at the same time you like your 1st wife so with her desire you let her stay but not with force. She can go if she wants to. But remember who will marry her?? Because she cant have kids, therefore she might be willing to stay where she is. Basically a women needs protection which she has so it would be silly to go.

Brahma created savitri out of his consciousness and not by intercourse, he had no wife, he is the creator he can create anything he wants and desgnate status accordingly, to some he gave staus of putra and putri son and daughter. But he gave status of ardhangini to savitri/saraswati. This also led saptrishi to question brahma which led to this confusing argument still used by muslims and commies to slander hinduism. Only about 3-4 lakhs people in Hindu society of India believe in cousin marriage who belong to some tribe of south India and slowly they are denouncing this practice because of NGOs , they are giving right guidance to these people . Please read history of these tribes , they were ruled by Muslim kings like Haider Ali and population of Muslims were very large so the people of both religion accepted each other’s culture and practices . That’s why Muslims of various parts of India started wearing sarees and chudi and they maunted these customs before the arrival of Wahhabism in India .

But what indians films donot show ever abt arrange marriages is that we make a kind of resume for both boys and girls. It do not contain details of work but date of birth, parents , grand parents , aunts , uncle, first cousins , great grand father etc names. In short ,familial history as much as you know.
That is firstly sent with photos and sometime kundli . In arrange marriage you are first expected to check this dossier of resume pic and if important to u kundli.
If it is satisfactory then PPL go and meet families. Even there mostly PPL talk abt extended families and try to find out if they know someone from other family or somehow boy and girl are not closer genetically by 7 generations.
Ideally if you don't share grandparents upto 7 generations then it's ok if you don't believe in gotra or kundli.

I once had a discussion with a Pakistani boy who was studying medical sciences & he was justifying marriage within same families. I even told him about inbreeding depression, cited example of haemophilia & queen Victoria's family yet he didn't buy my argument. It was disappointing to see a future doctor (then, ab tak to ban gya hoga doctor) talking like this. Doing something because of family pressure is one thing, not questioning or buying their stupid argument to justify this is stupid.
I am not throwing shade in any religion but the "gotra" thing that Hinduism has is something that is against inbreeding. But yes it has it's own social evils especially khaap panchayat

People say if that is true then why people get genetic conditions in west? Answer is: Marrying outside your family minimizes the probability of passing a known bad genetic trait but it never makes it zero. Best we could do is to do genetic testing before marriage but still there could be spontaneous genetic mutations during inception. It's all about not do something which could cause pain down the road probably after 3-4 generations.

Honestly I never heard about this before but the way you described it made me think about it and research on it and here what I found .
(Having a baby with a first cousin more than doubles the risk of congenital problems such as heart and lung defects, cleft palettes and extra fingers, according to the largest study of its kind in the UK.)
And here is what I also Found.
(The vast majority of children of first cousins are healthy and do not have problems due to their parents' relatedness. It is important to keep in mind that even for an unrelated couple, there is an approximately 2-3% chance that their child is born with a birth defect, genetic syndrome, or disability)
Now even if it's not true
Is it necessary to take that risk on you baby's Life ??
I don't think so and there is also another problem
Agar apas me na bani to Apne parents ki b apas me kharab ho jati hai to Behtar hai bahir rishta kar lo
Or is bat ki guarantee me deta hu k Apke bachhe zebra NAHI ho ge na hi bandar 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
