Ryan gets it! Yes the stars colliding symbolizes Clark and Lois' burgeoning relationship and foreshadowing the romance. This episode has good character moments with Lois, Clark, and Lex. Though Lois comes across as confident and tough, we now see her hidden insecurities and sometimes low self esteem underneath, due to her childhood. We also see Lois's devotion to those she loves. Clark and Lois have a great scene at the end where they break through their usual pattern of teasing to both support and admire the other. The episode also hints at their future romantic destiny. They flirtingly look at each other while the song in the background plays "written in the wind...now it all begins...you've got to fly..." Then Clark sees two shooting stars colliding with each other. We also get great Clark and Lex moments. They're smiling and laughing together in the coffee shop like old friends, and they're working together again. At times it feels like the old days. Lex has a beautiful line he says to Clark "You're closer to me than any blood brother." It's bittersweet knowing that it won't last. We see what could have been between them. This episode touches on the Superman mythos again with both Lex and Lois comparing their flawed families, and the pain they cause, to the ideal of the Kent family. Clark is who is not only by birth, but also by how the Kents raised him with kindness and unconditional love. Thanks for another fun Talkville!

I mean, I don't have a problem w the "love at 1st sight" or them being attracted to each other right away in all the other content, but they are always made to have an almost instant and unbreakable connection like RIGHT AFTER just meeting. and now that we see the contrast of their relationship developing naturally and evolve the way it does (w all the ups and downs) it makes all the other content feel less impactful in comparison. I mean think about how Clark goes from suggesting Lois "sleeps in the barn" to saying "come after her again and I will end you" (lol still gives me chills)... this is why they are the best "Lois and Clark" on top of their portrayals independently being the best Clark and the best Lois ❤

Given that Lois just invited herself to live there and her "negotiation" was only with the teenage boy and not the homeowners, the barn is exactly where she SHOULD be sleeping :P
The cold open to this episode felt just like an intro on "House M.d." The only thing missing was someone collapsing at the end with a crane shot as they can't breath haha
“Oh, we’re friends now?” Followed by the two meteors colliding and the song lyrics, “Now it all begins..”. It absolutely WAS about Lois and Clark and foreshadowing their timeless romance.
The scene of Clark throwing himself onto the roof of that speeding truck is very beautiful and iconic and in fact it was chosen and included in the various opening theme scenes from now on. And knowing that Tom loved filming this difficult scene makes it even more beautiful and special❤❤❤. Great to hear from her and that she is a fan of the series! NICE to hear that Tom actually did the jump on the truck! That "skateboard" trick with the "Truck Jump" is totally awesome to know! Like Ryan said, "REALLY COOL!" Great to hear Tom enjoy the scenes with Lionel in this one! Fingers crossed you guys will be able to get Michael Ironside on the podcast too! Michael is utterly shocked someone like Peyton could like this show. The more of Smallville Michael watches the more he dislikes it and wonders how it was so popular
Yes!!! The stars colliding was so symbolic of the Clois relationship. I can remember, back in the day, the Cloisers were so pumped and excited for the foreshadowing. This episode was one of my faves; the Clois bantering was so entertaining. Also important to note that this also illustrated Lex's dark turn. 💛💙❤️💋💯
Smallville's kryptonite water must be the real fountain of youth. Everyone from the show still looks absolutely incredible. Especially that Rosenbaum guy 🌹🌹🌹
I thought I remembered that. I’m not sure which season but I remember there being an episode maybe in season 8, 9 or 10 when Clark is missing and Lois went to feed Shelby and even brought Shelby back to the Talon. And something about Chloe covering for Clark about.
Admittedly, not the best episode, but whoever made the call for Clark making that semi truck overpass jump made the right call. That was DOPE. Also, it's funny that Peyton was like "I do NOT look the same," as if that's a bad thing. I think she's even more attractive now.
Watching this episode in the past, I was aware of the no flights no tights rule, so seeing Clark jump off the truck was such a huge shocker to me at the time. I’m like is he going to fly?!?!?! The jumps are so freaken cool, especially how he landed on this one! Blew my mind! 🙌 🙌🙌 I’m so glad Tom talked more about it!
I really liked this episode! ❤ Lucy and Lois’s relationship, and how Clark got to see another side of Luisa! ❤ and How can some people not understand the final scene with the two stars colliding? Ryan understood that ending very well, and as a fan of Luisa and Clark, I grasped it immediately too.
After this ending scene Mark Joseph's "Fly" found a permanent place on my playlist 😍such a great song! Lucy is one of my favorite eps and this was actually a super pleasant podcast! And surprisingly informative, too, got to know some new stuff. But omg Peyton, I'm completely charmed by her, had no idea she was this lovely - absolutely one of my favorite Talkville guests ever already. So chill, friendly and with calming vibes and the love for show. Also let's gooo Ryan from Lit Class with that excellent analysis lol, very spot on. I imagine they'll be very frustrated and I'm very excited to see their reactions lol
So many great scenes in this ep that add to the chemistry between Lois/Clark , Lex and Clark and that truck scene that we see in the credits for the rest of the series!!
Is there an edit with Peyton? She was talking how she was a fan of the show, then it cuts to Tom asking specifics about the episode. It seems like the transition should be - "what was it like being a fan and then all of the sudden there you are with the cast and part of the show? Was it surreal?" Missed opportunity, especially when fans like to hear the BTS stuff.
Interesting things of note. Clark, Lana, Chloe, and Pete would all be the age of Peyton at this point. 37-38 years old. They graduated from Smallville High in 2004.
It was great seeing Lois again and add Lucy to the mix - two lanes in Smallville. Clark jumping on the truck was amazing! I loved the end scene with the beautiful song, those little moments between Clark and Lois are so important for their story. I will give this episode 🌹and a half.
I loved the song intro when it came to the introduction of Peyton Lists Lucy Lane. The hard to hard conversation Lois had with Clark about how she had to be the guardian for Lucy, Clark saying you became a mother such a good scene. I even loved the extra dialogue from Lois as she was jealous because Lucy got the chance to kind of escape but Lois couldn't.
Aw man, I wanted to hear Tom answer the siblings question. I also come from a family with 2 boys & 2 girls, so I know there are some good stories there!
Loved Annette's admonishing "Clark", but also showing how Martha enjoyed the joke. Are those Shark skin overalls? "red hair"ings. Bryce? Peyton is even more gorgeous now.

@Superwolf22 so true! wow you're right, that's a really interesting take on it. I'm very impatient in my own life smh maybe it's a Pisces thing lol I see how things end but then i don't wanna wait to get there!
@@asyouwish3636 Even with Clark’s powers. They wait little by little for each one.
Haha! Sometimes I’m way too patient! I don’t know if that’s a Cancer thing, but I’m like no I’m not ready yet! 😆
i would have liked an earlier wrap of clark/lana too, that's why i asked the question which they answered in this episode but they didn't really agree with me 😂
@@Spidysscareme lol i hear ya
Tom's hair looking good this episode
I miss Smallville.
I hear that
You can still rewatch it and read the sequel comics and wait for the inevitable animated continuation if Michael’s boy James Gunn just greenlights it (unless WB too broke then guess we can keep dreaming 🥲)
now we have Talkville ;) its like new 10 seasons of smallville full of stories and content
So do I
Always remember Smallville
🌹how cute is it that Peyton List played Michael Ironside's daughter in The Flash too!⚡️
or she played a version of Poison Ivy on GOTHAM
Forgot about that
She also plays Tori on Cobra Kai.
@@anthonymarquez4617 different Peyton list
@anthonymarquez4617 oh that's so funny! I'm surprised her agent didn't have her modify her stage name w like a middle initial or slightly different spelling. but they are different enough in age, appearance, and film/TV projects to not really get them confused i guess lol
Poor Ryan, thinking the Clark and Lois connection is about to start. Cya in 4 seasons 🤣🤣
🌹 Any scene with Clark and Lois bickering will always be my favourite scenes 😂
And ALSO none of these actors age huh? They look amazing years later!
Tom looks so much better without a hat or cap!!
Lmaoooo I forgot about how Clark suggested Lois sleep in the barn- that was the ultimate shaft! 😅😂😂
He gave her that in season 10
Ultimate Shaft is my favorite version of the Richard Roundtree character
Given that Lois just invited herself to live there and her "negotiation" was only with the teenage boy and not the homeowners, the barn is exactly where she SHOULD be sleeping :P
She looks SO much like Erica here! Great casting!
I thought the same thing.
The symbolism of the shooting stars is cool, but it's also foreshadowing for a literal event later on.
16:42 the significance is Lois and Clark colliding! It's a metaphor for their future
And the song collide for Clark & Lana in 5x02
Sorry Clana shipper but that was absolutely not what it was about. This star colliding moment was specifically about Clois due to the set up.
The cold open to this episode felt just like an intro on "House M.d." The only thing missing was someone collapsing at the end with a crane shot as they can't breath haha
My favorite line in this episode was at the beginning and Clark says: "If you were any nicer we'd starve" haha
Lol
And Martha’s face right after 😂!!!
@@upumoni521 I know she was like Clark!! And Clark had like a sorry but also it’s true kind’ve look 😂
I love that whole scene. Clark’s face when he says, “You want something” is awesome haha
@@emilywyatt4391 It is we needed so much more Lois and Clark throughout the show haha
You're great Tom and thank you so much for sharing this great experience of yours with us, I love hearing your behind the scenes guys.❤️❤️❤️
Cap-Less Tom is always a REAL treat!
Yay! Lucy Lane herself Peyton List! Grateful to see you guys were able to get Peyton for her first very special episode!
Lex's assistant in this episode is the first appearance from Erica Cerra!
The woman who orders the coffee from Lois in the Talon scene is an American journalist named Danya Devon. She was the host of the show "eXTRA" at the time.
Here is a clip of her on set with Tom & Michael!:

I loved this episode 😂😂 especially scenes between Lois and Clark 😂😂
I love seeing Tom’s hair instead of the ball caps. You too Michael.
"It's a Smallville World" needs to be another T-shirt.
Secretsville too lol
‘I am the villain of the story!’
F’ing all timer.
Can’t wait. Gotta be Ryan’s favorite scene.
Michael is so confused that people like the show because he hates it so much, but wants to continue to make money from it.
Yup Stars Collide ending refers to Clar and Lois future.
Erica and Tom, had really good chemistry on set, almost believable as real life. Erica's eyes and smile added a lot of info, more than dialogue.
Thank you so much Michael and Tom for doing this podcast! I listen to it every time I go workout. I’m catching up on the episodes and I just love it so much. I’ve been a fan of smallville since middle school and I’m 33 now! So I’m a lifer fan! ❤😂
💛💙❤️💋💯
Not Michael thinking that all 10 YEARS of Smallville take place in high school. 😂
I can give you two good reasons she liked the show so much Tom and Eric.
Interestingly, the word "sinister" means "left-handed", so it makes sense for villains to always be left-handed.
The song that plays at the end clois scene is amazing they chose the best songs for clois
Peyton smokin’ hot List
Smallville's kryptonite water must be the real fountain of youth. Everyone from the show still looks absolutely incredible.
Especially that Rosenbaum guy 🌹🌹🌹
It's called a camera filter
Clark and Lois Stars colliding, good one Ryan!
She meant to say it was totally Clark. From the Pilot, she was watching Tom Welling shirtless. Hahaha!
Yesss..😂😂
I liked the new addition shown from Lois’s family! Her sister Lucy!! Happy Wednesday everyone!
"Wait a minute! What did you LIKE about the show??"
Michael is so proud of Smallville. lol
“Ryan didn’t say a fuckin word”😂😂
Literal 'star-crossed lovers'
“Well hey this has been an absolute joy, Ryan didn’t say a fuckin word” 😂😂
Shelby will be in the rest of the show. He should have gotten a spot in the opening credits, I think.
When the caller mentioned dragging Clark and Lana out, I keep thinking how Michael and Ryan probably still have NO IDEA exactly how long that will take 🤣they may even be thinking that this is the extent of it 🤣
i was the one sending the question amd for me it went on waaaaay too long 😂 eventually they'll agree with me 😂
@@littlew0men Definitely 😂 we will reach a point when they'll be the first ones complaining 🤣
@@tinatinarmainteresebs9255 😂 I can’t help but wonder what their reaction will be to the ending of that Lana arch in her season 8 guest appearance. Soooooo much momentum with Lois & Clark and then they did that.🤦♀️🤦🤦♂️
@@oldhollywoodfan8009 omg me too! I can't imagine that, first, Michael will be okay with what they do with Lex lol, second, anyone would be okay with that Lana arc or that they won't be angry at how senseless it was, how immature and how it basically set back the development of several characters, especially after the groundwork of s7. I imagine they'll be very frustrated and I'm very excited to see their reactions lol
"A lot of red herrings"
*compilation of characters with red hair*
😂😂
That was so funny! LOL
I freaking lost my drink.. The editor is a genius dickhead and im all here for it.
Is that Bryce's doing?
LMAO at the pronunciation of "reveille". (Rev-Ah-Lee)
LOL, I was laughing so hard at "reveal"
49:03 - Rosey, you gotta step it up. I mean, you're supposed to be rewatching and following along but don't even know it's senior year? 😂
😂😂😂
It was great seeing Lois again and add Lucy to the mix - two lanes in Smallville.
Clark jumping on the truck was amazing!
I loved the end scene with the beautiful song, those little moments between Clark and Lois are so important for their story.
I will give this episode 🌹and a half.
Tom's hair looking good this episode, love the gray
I loved the song intro when it came to the introduction of Peyton Lists Lucy Lane. The hard to hard conversation Lois had with Clark about how she had to be the guardian for Lucy, Clark saying you became a mother such a good scene. I even loved the extra dialogue from Lois as she was jealous because Lucy got the chance to kind of escape but Lois couldn't.
Michael being shocked that Clark is out of school for half the series is just so.. Michael 🤣
Aw man, I wanted to hear Tom answer the siblings question. I also come from a family with 2 boys & 2 girls, so I know there are some good stories there!
HAHAHAHAHAHA - "red herrings" and then a bunch of "red heads," LOL... couldn't stop laughing.
I’m pretty sure Shelby makes appearances all the way up to season 10.
Loved Annette's admonishing "Clark", but also showing how Martha enjoyed the joke.
Are those Shark skin overalls?
"red hair"ings. Bryce?
Peyton is even more gorgeous now.
🤣Bryce...red herring edit
My husband is 14 years younger then me and was 8 when smallville came out and he never watched it .We started to watch it today . I am so happy i get to rewatch it with him because i will never stop being a fan of the show and of Superman.
I have to say the 🌹 💣 Lex is the best portrayal of Lex Luther period.
Another action packed episode with enjoyable discussions and it was good to catch up with Peyton and get her take on things. I definitely agree with Ryan about the colliding stars signifying the start of Clark and Lois’s relationship🙂
49:22. Dude, It's not like this was your last season. You had three more seasons on this show where you acted with Clark out of high school. How TF can you possibly have so little grasp on the show you were in for seven years? It's actually impressive.
He’s got shit to worry about, I don’t even remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday
I think it's because he rarely had scenes in the school as Lex wasn't a student so maybe it didn't cross his mind
Oh yeah it's that time again, to listen to another fantastic podcast, love all who are involved, I love hearing from the special guests always interesting, I thought this was an awesome episode. X
Peyton is an absolute gem! Was so cool to hear her perspective!
TGI Wednesday!!! What a guest!!!Love you guys!!!!!! Thanks for another episode!!!
12:23. Heh. Red hair-ings. Nice splice, Bryce.
Erica Durance and Peyton List arguing in front of Lex's piano is definitely a, "Ladies...Ladies! Please... ...continue!" moment.
Wait, Rosenbaum thought they staayed in school for the whole 10 years lol.
We need Jensen on the podcast
Agree
Great to have Peyton List on the podcast. she looks amazing.
51:44 Tom and the balloons again 🤣
All the guests are always top notch… but you guys went all out for Season 4!! Thanks guys!!❤
I love that Rosenbaum is wearing the Roddy Piper hoodie he asked about from his previous interview with Devon Sawa.
I would probably watch this podcast more often if it was just Tom and any other person from SV besides the guy who quit midway cause he thought he was too good for the show and after he didnt become as big as he thoughthe was gonna be, and now he's using the show he hates to make some money..pretty ironic, i dunno this just irrates me..i was a big fan of Michael but the mans personality has had me wishing that he'd act more like lex(dont me wrong i think he's a great actor but seems like pretty negative dude) and also you van notice how much Tom is doing this for fun while mikey boy is doing for the money
*Yay, Peyton List! LOVE THIS EPISODE! FAVORITE SCENE: Clark jumping on the truck is sooo cool*!
Great Pod!!!
Only grip, the guys sped through the episode and had a recap at 17:08... it would be really great to have a more fluid conversation allowing Tom to provide some behind the scenes info (like the stunt work example) and forvRyan to ask questions...
Good episode and great job by Rosie, Tom, and Ryan!
fun fact: the left-handed villain trope actually comes from the latin word for left "sinister," which also corresponds to the word for "evil" in English...
As a leftie myself I don’t know if I should be offended or not. 😉😂
