I think he would be a excellent choice to be the next Doctor Who but I don't see that happening. Thanks for having him on the show Michael! Tom is such a interesting guy.
I wouldn't mind If he is Lucifer in James Gunn DCU he doesn't have his own movie or series in DCU more like a supporting character for JL Dark characters or Amanda Waller send The Suicide Squad team to meet someone and it Tom as Lucifer

If you listened Tom said he wouldn't play Lucifer in a series again but he if he was offered a Lucifer movie which he considered good he'd think about doing it, he wouldn't be involved in a Lucifer movie just for the sake of it
I found Lucifer in a time where I felt like every new show had pessimistic undertones and was trying way to hard to be edgy and profound only to come across as boring, depressing or preachy. It was a blessing to find a genuinely fun show again. It has made me cry tears of laughter, sadness, and bittersweet joy in a single episode, very rarely has any media touched my heart like that. I just finished this episode and it was delightful. Tom definitely opened up and had so many great stories. I enjoyed hearing about his past. Tom definitely saved his show. Good thing that he sent that tweet.
Absolutely love your show Mike. I just wanted to comment by saying that the second Tom Ellis posted that tweet, the #SAVELUCIFER Movement started and I am proud to say I am one of those people that literally spent hours and hours posting it. And it was worth it. We got 3 more seasons. Tom Ellis is an amazing actor and fighting for him and the show made me proud. ❤

14:09 unfortunately, type-casting has been an issue for ages, even before social media; and I think the accent thing is right in line with that. Because it comes down to an audience having a singular, specific preconception of who an actor is. An example of this that always comes to mind is George Reeves; TV's first Superman. He was in "From Here to Eternity," and as I understand it he originally had a fairly substantial role in the movie, but during some early screenings, whenever he'd come on screen, audiences would purportedly shout, "Hey, it's Superman!" This made the studio execs and the people involved with the film concerned his role as Superman would overshadow the movie; so they removed as much his part in the films as they could, and in the finished cut he's in like, one scene that they couldn't get rid of; and according to IMDB he's "uncredited" in the film. But this was devastating for his career and probably him personally, as that could have been a breakout role for him otherwise; which got shot to hell because people are stupid.
This was my first time watching your podcast and it was to see Tom Ellis. I really enjoyed the conversation! Tom was lovely as usual, but I also thought you did a great job. I’ll definitely be returning to watch more of your podcasts. Happy New Year!
Michael - bro - you're on a run of fantastic interviews. Tom Ellis is one of the real ones. Like you, he's going to be the same kind of good man in 20 years.
I was part of the Save Lucifer/Raise Some Hell campaign. We took inspiration from the Save Angel campaign back in 2004 where the fans went ballistic and bombarded WB with postcards, etc. for weeks until Joss Whedon had to come out and ask us to stop. This was before Twitter, but with the power of social media the Lucifer fans sent millions of tweets tagging WB, Fox, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu to Save Lucifer. Netflix stepped up and 4 million Lucifer fans rejoiced.
Hello, Michael, I'm glad Lucifer brought me here; you are do good, asking smart and simple questions, relaxing the athmosphere and letting your guests speak... seriously enjoyable. Thank you!
I first saw him on Doctor Who and thought he was so good in that part. It is very memorable. I was super glad he got Lucifer and then that the show had a wrap up and an actual ending. Great interview! Hope your feeling better.
That was so enjoyable. Lucifer is SUCH an amazing show. It was everything. A perfect storm of talent and great energy. So cool to hear the backstory of it getting picked up by netflix. Great questions too, great interview. (Also how you brought Lex Luthor to life in Smallville was really awesome. I just needed to express that.)
Great episode, Love Tom, always comes across as a genuinely lovely person. I remember the whole #SaveLucifer campaign so vividly and then seeing his joy at a comic con after it came back
We are rewatching Lucifer at the moment. Truly one of the best series. The unexpected, witty one liners are just so good and everyone inhabited their parts so well. No one else could play Lucifer other than Tom.
Great to have the podcast back and with such a brilliant guest. Loved the conversation and the insights into Tom’s early life and I also remember the “who’s she the cats mother” phrase😻
Fantastic interview I absolutely love Tom Ellis you're a incredible person and fantastic actor I love lucifer it's one of my all time favorite tv series incredible work 😊❤🎉
You are not boring Michael, but you are thoughtful, reflective and actually care about interacting and real conversation. That is a quieter more intimate expression. Many people just want the glitziness of entertainment! Don't sell yourself short you offer something to people that others don't and I and many others really enjoy it! There's something more real and more substantive about your talks with your guests. when I watch your interviews I feel like I know your guests a little bit more, like I connect with their humanity. You have a niche and it's a really worthy one! Own it! You do it well!💕
This was such a treat to watch. Loved Tom since Miranda and we were absolutely HOOKED on Lucifer in this house. Also the Much Ado VHS of Brannagh and Thompson as Benedict and Beatrice was chefs kiss perfection.
Fox cancelling a popular property reminds me of what they did to Firefly and it was the fans (before twitter) that brought it back as a movie. Bring on the Lucifer movie!
Wow what a way to start the New years off with Tom Ellis so glad you finally got him on the podcast. Saw Tom and Aimee at FanX a couple years ago on a Lucifer panel it was phenomenal. The panels are the best thing about a comic con, plus the Fans get to ask questions about almost anything. But I love your podcast Michael, you get into there mental state on how they are doing now and with their life and their career. Love how you get your guest to open up and how you talk about what you been through to Michael as well. Love listening to Tom, the conversation and the insights into Tom's early life, you learn so much about Tom in this interview and I also loved the episode With Aimee when you had her on. Thank you for bringing Tom on you Rock Michael!!!
Michael, I think it was great nearing the end of the Ep that you opened up about questioning your worth, it's validating to hear when someone as amazing as you feels those feels too! You are excellent at what you do here and so incredible at putting your guests at ease; you ask really insightful questions and have left a lot of us viewers with some profound words of wisdom. I do hope you listen to what ryan said as you are very compelling. Absolutely LOVED you in Smallville and love the real you (from what I've watched/heard)EVEN MORE. Please keep up the amazing work and don't doubt what you do! Sincerely a grateful Gen Z kid that grew up on smallville :)
Lucifer is definitely one of my favorite shows. I’d love to see Tom play James Bond if not Henry Cavill. I also so badly want a Constantine and Lucifer show with Tom Ellis and Matt Ryan. They were both so perfect in their roles and were great together in that Crisis on Infinite Earths scene.
@@neildelaguila5575 I really dig, those first couple seasons of Lucifer, and a lot of the rest of the show, although I think they started introducing too many Old Testament characters, with humor and drama colliding a bit. It really doesn’t get a lot of love from comic book folks, because it’s really nothing like the character Gaiman first wrote, then had it’s own run in comics, that just don’t really work within the procedural, case of the week structure, that they went by for so much of it. It’s similar to how different Constantine is from the short lived series, to the Legends of Tomorrow, vs. the animated character and comics ones. Ryan showed he could do any and all of these versions, and eventually Lucifer has no problem with him, as Lucifer actually beats his father, and becomes as powerful a character in the DC universe, as there is. A more serious show, with both characters, can still be funny, while having more horror, like the Constantine one.
I’ve been SO excited for you to have Tom on. I re watch Lucifer over and over! Thank you for having him on. I have your back gets better, my surgeon is pushing for surgery on my back but I’m SO scared to go through it.
Tom Ellis is one of my favorites this was a great episode haven't seen many interviews with him and of course no interviews are as great as Inside Of You
What a pleasure to find you Michael and Ryan, with Tom Ellis that i discovered with Lucifer, excellent actor and show ! ❤❤ You always brilliantly address the questions inherent in this pod, relating to this actor and the human beeing ! 💙👍 I love you so much, so happy to start 2024 with you !! 💘💘💙💖
Lovely episode. Tom Ellis is such a cool guy. I have concerns about the ads however - namely the Betterhelp - I came across a significant number of reviews that state that they are not very good as therapists and platform.
I Loved miranda!! He is absolutely Right... The show left us wanting more!!!!! It does happen all the time in the UK, shows take a bow well before people get tired of watching.
I am not into TV Shows since I hate having to wait for new Seasons and having to watch SO MUCH. Lucifer however had me hooked. It had a bit of everything. The story was tied up really nicely as well and all characters got a nice closure for their problems they had throughout the series. It was also nice how they built a nice backstory for all the characters.
At first Michael I’m a Patreon because of you! Your skill to interview your guest is remarkable! Every one of your guests is a special when you be talking with them and all of them are responding to you. You are the best! And this podcast was awesome because of you and of curse because of Tom Ellis an incredible start into a new year! Thank you!🖖💖
Been a fan of his work since the beginning. Amazing talent, and gent. One of the best. Performance in Lucifer was incredible, loved the series. Cannot wait to see what's next When Fox let go of Lucifer, it was devastating. A series with a unique premise, amazing cast, was sublime. Fox really dropped the ball with their decision. I remember that Tweet from Tom. It was surreal to see that happen. But what unfolded after, was a journey. Seeing Netflix help give it another go, and allow it to tell more stories till the finale. That move was excellent Btw Michael, subbed to this podcast since the beginning. You are not boring at all. Insightful, fun, creative, compassionate, and approachable, plus very cool. No need to compare yourself to anyone else 🖖
I saw Tom Ellis and I clicked so fast! I love 'Lucifer' and its wonderful cast so much that since the final episode aired I have binge watched it multiple times. In fact, I am on Season 3 as we speak. I was one of the irate fans who went on the #SaveLucifer campaign. Tom, I wish you all the best and look forward to your projects to come!
Omg I'm from Belfast and his accent is amazing. It's so right. He even got the mannerisms. The only thing is we don't really say you know as much as "so it is". :-)
After being a huge Miranda fan, seeing him in Lucifer was a delight. letting the anxiety out at the end. You are you and being you is the best, what someone else thinks of you isn't your business 😊
Lucifer is one of those brilliantly written shows that gives us the truly important things in life everyone must be reminded of all the time. This show is definitely ingrained in this industry and so as Tom Ellis as Lucifer. Well, I prefer him more as the Devil than how Pelegrino did Lucy. 😁 Although I also enjoy watching Pelegrino being Lucy, too.

There's something more real and more substantive about your talks with your guests. when I watch your interviews I feel like I know your guests a little bit more, like I connect with their humanity. You have a niche and it's a really worthy one! Own it! You do it well!💕
Great podcast as always Rosey !!! Tom Ellis is a great actor loved him in Lucifer that was such a good series
So happy to see Tom 👑again! 😁
Them casually talking about dialect/accents are blowing my mind! 😳
This was such a treat to watch. Loved Tom since Miranda and we were absolutely HOOKED on Lucifer in this house.
Also the Much Ado VHS of Brannagh and Thompson as Benedict and Beatrice was chefs kiss perfection.
I used to watch him in Merlin, one of my favourite TV shows ever. His performance as Cenred was really good and I recognised him instantly in Lucifer.
Fox cancelling a popular property reminds me of what they did to Firefly and it was the fans (before twitter) that brought it back as a movie. Bring on the Lucifer movie!
I love your show Mike! You'll always be my favorite Lex, and one of my go-to podcasts/youtube shows. Thanks Brother!
Hope you get a speedy recovery Michael 🤛.
Such a sweet person he is! Incredible. 💙
Glad to see Tom come by for some therapy from Dr. Rosenbaum! Havent heard anything from him in a while since Lucifer ended! Love his work!
His laugh makes me melt ugh he’s such a doll
Thank you for this one !!!! Tom is so much fun to watch !!! Michael, you are doing great things , hometown hugs my brother.
“Just freakin cool”…. Yup… Welcome to the club Michael… all we can say is “one of us, one of us, one of us!”
A great interview with Tom Ellis!
Miranda made me smile and laugh in a time of such emotional pain and for that, the show will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thanks Tom Ellis. Great interview Michael
Yes we never got the answer they hinted something like Constantine helped Maze somehow, that's the favor Lucifer needed to fulfill
I never would have thought of Tom as James Bond but he'd be perfect.
Henry Cavill for Bond. He's perfect.

I really dig, those first couple seasons of Lucifer, and a lot of the rest of the show, although I think they started introducing too many Old Testament characters, with humor and drama colliding a bit.
Maaaan, now I wanna see Henry Cavill on here :D
I’ve been SO excited for you to have Tom on. I re watch Lucifer over and over! Thank you for having him on.
I have your back gets better, my surgeon is pushing for surgery on my back but I’m SO scared to go through it.
Fun interview 😄 Lucifer was one of my favorite shows…Tom Ellis and the rest of the cast were brilliant ❤
Belief in yourself is a must! I over came so much because of this.
what the heck? A fantastic dude on a fantastic podcast! I'm listening to this NOW!!
Great episode!!! I always enjoy your work Michael. Thank you.
I loved Lucifer and Tom Ellis was wonderful.
Thank you so much! Tom Ellis is the best. Loved his Charles Dance’s impression.😁💜Thank you for having him on your podcast. ❤
Thank you!🖖💖
“Who’s she the cats mother” it was like I was back at home hearing that.
Thank you for this great conversation. Tom is amazing. Thoughtful, well-spoken, charming. ❤
Been a fan of his work since the beginning. Amazing talent, and gent. One of the best. Performance in Lucifer was incredible, loved the series. Cannot wait to see what's next
When Fox let go of Lucifer, it was devastating.
That move was excellent
Btw Michael, subbed to this podcast since the beginning.
