    Imagine if Toyota made a HD version of our trucks.. our Tundras and Tacomas put in so much work without issues when compared to ford and Chevy. I can only dream of a HD Toyota truck

      Toyota trucks ok. Ford Chevy and Ram all beat them in reliability. This is a dangerous combination he's running though. The truck isn't sized to pull a 7k trailer. If dot pulls him over he's getting a ticket.

    Oh yeah I pull 6k pound trailer with my 2021 Tacoma in a automatic , I put it in sport mode so that way it’s not shifting into 5th or 6th gear and I do use the ECT, the speeds I run are from 50-65 mph ZERO issues pulls good in fact I live in AZ where I do go up some steep grades . I have switched to 91 octane for fuel through I do see diff in not only better gas mileage but the truck is more responsive than when I did use 87octane , and you will notice a good bit of difference after tank or two of 91 octane . Good work keep more towing videos coming 👍🏻

    I noticed my tacoma has wheel shake now because I had an overload. Think my rotors heated up & warped even though I was going really slow for 10 miles. Not sure what the weight was. Just enough stone to cover the bed of the trailer about 6" high.

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stone is super heavy, but that sucks. Do you have a trailer brake controller?

    I’ve been thinking of getting a single axle dump for small loads. I have an 85 s15 getting the engine rebuilt currently, and a 2020 Nissan frontier. Been hesistant to buy the single axle to get started. I eventually want to get an f250 but kinda scared to buy a bigger truck just for a small side hustle that I want to start. Think those smaller trucks can handle a single axle load?

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      With a single axle you’ll be well within the towing capacity of nearly any truck. Pretty sure each axle is only good for 3500lbs.
      Unless the axles are beefier on the them.
      Would be kinda pointless to upgrade the truck with a single axle if it can’t hold much weight.
      Also a horrible time to buy trucks as everything is insanely overpriced so would be hard to justify the cost I think

  • @CesarGarcia-ry1hk
    @CesarGarcia-ry1hk ปีที่แล้ว

    Super cool! I’ve been wanting to do something similar as a side hustle and have been looking at the Tacoma, I do drive a lot for my day job so I figured the Tacoma best fit the role. How has your towing experience been would you recommend the Tacoma for a small trailer like that? Do you wish you have a bigger trailer or truck?

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course a bigger truck would be ideal, but the Tacoma did okay. I probably wouldn't do it with the Tacoma long term but it worked for the 7-8mos or so I did it.

      t depends on a few factors. I advertise a rate starting at $199 for a one day rental.
      However I factor in distance and weight as well depending on where/what the person is needing the dumpster for. With a trailer this small, I stick to 1-3 day rentals usually and it's mostly in the $250-300 range

    Hi, great advice about how to start a business with a Tacoma, I recently got a Taco 2019 SR5 V6 and I believe it’s the towing package because it has the thing to connect in the back, but my idea is to not about rent a trailer, I do demolition for many contractors and wanted to add this service of dumping as well, I still need to get a trailer though and I think the one you have it looks pretty heavy compared to another’s that I saw on Craigslist that are not hydraulic and made of wood, a friend of mine said that the one you have would work on a V8 but I’m going to show him your video that yours was able to pull the trailer. Thank you for taking the time to explain all the features a Tacoma has, yours has a nicer color than mine.

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly if you are filling the trailer yourself then that's the best case scenario because you can stay within the limits of the truck & not worry about a customer overfilling it. The dump trailer is definitely heavy at around 2k pounds but the Tacoma tows it well, you just NEED a brake controller and to stay within the towing capacity of the truck.
      You can get a non-hydraulic trailer but then you'll spend a lot of time unloading unless you setup a system to pull the junk out with a chain/pallet or whatever.

    • @maurodaosta864
      @maurodaosta864 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KnightWheelsMedia you’re absolutely right I had my first loads couple of days ago and it was a lot of metal, sheetrock and bags of broken tile, I had to go through different recycling centers until I found this one that there’s no minimum $120 per ton it doesn’t matter if you brought less and then this other place where you go up in a mountain of garbage it’s only $100 per ton as a rate but you’ll be scaled and pay for what you brought based on that rate and yes it takes more time and dumping with your own hands and back hurting lol, I did it only loading the bed as of now because I couldn’t get a trailer just yet but yes I’m looking forward to install a brake controller once I get a trailer I’m on a budget that’s why I’ve seen those hydraulics can go up to 10k and of course might weight a little more but you have less effort and time for dumping, thanks for your advise and looking forward in the future to show in your channel what on a budget its possible to install a mechanism to pull the junk besides using a hydraulic system. I’m new to this business and so far I charged this contractor $200 dollars per load and it took me three trips that was an hour back and forth for each, a little bit of a pain but you know I’m starting from the bottom. Thanks bro! 🤙

    How much does one charge for a load like the one you picked up. Or is it a rate per day?

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I somehow missed this comment. I kinda do a base rate then add on for each additional day. So like 1,2,3 days would look something like $250, $275, $300. But it also depends on some other factors like distance & weight if they're putting in heavy stuff.
