    I purchased my first dump in 2006 and used it as a dumpster for my construction company to save on dumpster fees. After 3 years I sold it to another contractor and purchased my second dump with the 4’ sides, barn doors and I installed the ICC dust bars so I can roll and unroll my tarp. I learned to make extra money was to do clean outs and scrap metal pick ups. Also to sort my debris from my construction sites. I also rent it out to other contractors and charge them $250 plus the cost of the load, which depends on mileage from the dump station. If you have a few dump trailers you can make some money with them. Both of my trailers have already paid for themselves many times over. Thank you for the video

      That's awesome to hear man way to go! I may look into a quicker way to cover the trailer with the tarp. Keep up the good work.

      Not necessarily. Problem is you need more than 1 bin or dumpster trailer. You should have about 5. It’s a numbers game. Don’t look to collect the highest payout each rental. Wealth comes in volume. The more you turn over the better.

    • @KDlGG
      @KDlGG ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Subi_dooyeah I think people need to realize you’re not making 20k a month from a side hustle. This has to be a business, likely with employees as well. But it also really depends on your area if you’re in a smaller town, yeah good luck unless you’re mostly targeting construction companies

    • @Ariza_602_Wardogg
      @Ariza_602_Wardogg ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's because you have one dumpster and you're using it as a rental instead of applying yourself a different way and riding around and picking the junk up and dumping it yourself you will make a lot more money doing it that way but running dumpsters for 300 bucks for 3 days and expecting 20K is just retarded Don't do that

      @@gunnerranchdo ya have several tiles on the trailer and a lock or 2 on the tires while it’s at a job site ?
      I have a 08 Duramax that I paid for in cash but I don’t have a dump trailer as I have a 20’ landscaping trailer with 4’ walls .
      I’m gonna be mowing only a small list of my clients and Thursday to Sat or Monday I’ll do dumpster loads .
      I gotta get air bags and Kryptonite suspension parts .
      I also plan to buy a 2011 master cylinder as TruckMaster Garage gave a review as to why it’s a great investment for your Duramax.

    I bought a cam superline back in 2013. I absolutely love this trailer. It still looks almost new now. Bought it with aluminum ramps which make using a wheel barrel with it a dream. A role up tarp and we told them we were going to do carved signage like what was on our Ram trucks. For an extra hundred they made me 6 parts a slotted rear for each side that bolted on. A middle plate for strength for each of the sides that bolted on. And the complex front slots that did the side walls plus the front wall. They power coat finished them and the dealer installed them I had my guy make the cypress signs for this 12x7 foot trailer and the 12 foot long 10 inch wide 2 inch thick boards with my company logo craved into them slid right in the slots. Also upgraded to some gorgeous aluminum rims and they factory de-rated the trailer for me. So it was a 12k gvw trailer them made it 9990 for me so not cdl requirements here. Back then with tax reg and all the things I did including the $1000 on cypress signs and the front board as well came to $10,000.
    Now I am not going to add up the jobs I have done with the trailer. I do mulch with it I take her for seeding jobs. I use it as my rolling dumpster for 30 plus pruning jobs a year and I use her as stick dumpster where all the branches my landscaping company collects end up.
    What I will add up is how much money the trailer as actually saved me instead. So first thing is it allowed me to sell a 89 gmc 3500 diesel dump truck. This was a rust bucket that we started my company with had it for 10 years. It was reliable always started with no issues the motor was strong. We used the truck the same way we use this trailer it wasn't our main truck. The truck had 2000 miles a year on it in the time I owned it. That cost on average 2200 a year in repairs. Tires brakes exhaust transmission radiator you name it it wore out in that time. We also spent around 1500 a year insuring it. Fuel is easy to figure about 9 mpg times 3 bucks ave over 10 years and thats 666 a year. Registration was another 180 a year and then came town property tax that was another 150 a year. One more cost was dumping it the dump site always hit me for more then I had so an extra 2 yards per dumping at there prices figure and extra 300 a year in that cost. So grand total the GMC was costing me 4996 dollars a year to own it.
    The cam super line costs me 1 dollar a year for the insurance on it. Repairs have been a battery in the last 10 years so figure that at 20 dollars a year. Registration has been 100 dollars. Property taxes have been 60 dollars. Then we go to dumping and it fits significantly more then the GMC could and it doesn't look like it when its loaded. So Ill dump with a maxed out load of 10 yards of brush and they write it in as 6. So the true cost of dumping a year is -500. So the cost of owning this trailer is Minus 319 dollars a year.
    So Buying the dump trailer has saved in 10 years time $53,150 - $10,000 to buy it + $4000 I recouped selling the old gmc. Giving a grand total of $47,150 in savings and that doesn't including a single jobs income.

First week I made $450, second week I made $14,000 minus the cost of gas and dump costs. I netted about $10,500 that week. Great video, love the real world experience vs click bait channels! One thing that stands out to me is how the trailer was weighed. If a trailer is setup properly 10-20% of its weight should be on the tongue (dump trailers are typically on the higher end since the wheels are so far back). If they only weigh the trailer with 2,000# of trash…they will only see 1,700 on the scale assuming 15% tongue weight…

    Your chains should be criss crossed to catch the trailer so it doesn’t drag on the road if it were to come off. Also I’m not sure what the rules are where you are but in Canada where I’m at the break away wire for the trailer brakes needs to be on its own hook and not on the trailer chains. We actually got a $300 ticket for having it on the chain hooks.

So I'm usually making 180-200 per dump. Each additional day is $75 each additional 10 miles is $20. You have to remember... You have to make two trips for the trailer and then your mileage to wherever your dumping it... So fuel is a big key profit killer. Also... In total there are three locks and chains plus the strap to have to break off plus the safety chains are also locked to the spare tire .

    Dumpster businesses have an insane amount of competition. It's very easy work that most anyone can do and the startup in terms of a business isn't that much. Maybe 65K on the low end for a new truck and another 15-20K for a dump trailer. So for less then 100K you can have a business with the potential to make good money. In regards to security, it would be a good idea to padlock your chains towards the back of the trailer. I've seen trailer thefts where scumbags have just hooked the safety chains up to their truck and dragged it away then dealt with the coupler lock later.

    I was going to buy a dump trailer. I only buy stuff used so I was ok with it getting beaten up.
    My buddy was selling a 14x7 dump trailer for $7,000 that I was really considering. I decided 7k was too much and a few months later I bought a dump truck for $2,000.
    I carried 7 tons of sand the other day and it never even came close to being overloaded. Didn’t even lower! Not kidding.
    No one wants a 45 year old so I’m never worried someone will steal it like a dumb trailer.
    I can also pull equipment with ease with my truck.
    Insurance is $135/mo and that’s commercial.
    The benefits of a truck compared to a trailer are definitely worth the cost in fuel and learning how to fix old stuff.

    I bought one for my landscape business and when I see the videos of the 10k a month I can only laugh knowing it’s cap. The best u can do online advertising is get 4 to 1 on ur money spent and fuel and upping ur insurance for it take a quarter of ur profits so paying for it, fuel, insurance(that actually covers it not on ur truck)and advertising take a huge chunk of it from the rip I’d say 3/5. Add good roll off companies in ur area and it’s even less. But if u need a second income that u can take ur kids with u on and isn’t physical it’s a starting point.

      @@gunnerranch thanks! However, for now, I have a 22 trail boss 1500, I'll get a similar trailer but I can only haul 10k lbs for now, then I'll upgrade to a HD diesel later.

    Hello, I would like to rent my dump trailer in NV. Will you please tell me what kind of insurance I need and where you have gotten it? Thank you so much.

      It depends if your having people take the trailer or your dropping it off. Progressive will cover the trailer though if your doing the work

    Whats up brother. I just got a dump trailer and it has the adjustable height. Have you looked into any lock sleeves to avoid anyone attaching anything above the current coupler height ?

    Need some help hooking up that trailer. Chains should be crossed so they will catch the trailer if it comes unhooked from the ball. Also they should be latched into the hitch, hooks are not designed to have force all they way on the end. And finally the breakaway cable should be independent from the chain it is a last resort if the ball come unhooked and the chains break. This is why CDL is required for a trailer that size in most states, not sure about cali but in CT i know it is.

      I actually own a boat rental company for 15 years I know better. Thank you. Chains crossed. I'm more worried about it coming back and popping my truck lol.
