I think it's the most beautiful and comfortable GTR ever. It also set the second fastest nürburgring time of the skylines right behind the r34 v-spec. It's a real work of art.
And I currently own an R32 GTR here in Frisco, TX, I owned and R33 GTR also and I actually sold my R33 GTR and kept my R32. The R32 was so much more fun to drive because the R33 AWD system and HICUS system were trash. It wasn’t until the R34 that Nissan got the electric HICUS system right. I also have an R34 GTR sitting in storage at a shop in Arlington, TX waiting for the 2024 mark.

Look at the record at international championship. R33 record is nowhere close to r32 and r34. R32 win 4 years straight until they banned the r32 and make a new rule because r32 is too dominant, r34 also win a lot while r33 is never as good as this 2 r32 and r34

Best way I always viewed the Gt-R from the 32-34 32: Godzilla as it earned the nickname 33: Performance + Comfort balance 34: F&F hyped, but took aspects of ^
Partially the reason why the R33 wasn’t as much liked because of the controversy of the PR car in Best Motoring. When Keiichi Tsuchiya test drove the R33 before release, he was surprised of how good the performance was and loved it that he bought it instantly. However several months later after he got the car and took to track, the GT-R he bought seemed to be not as fast as he thought it was and not only that, the other competitors were outperforming his GT-R. He then realized that the PR GT-R was lightly tuned than what you actually got and it was a shady business practice. This cause the reputation of the R33 GT-R to go down
The R33 Skyline has always been my fave, even in non GTR spec. The 400R was my go-to in GranTurismo back in the day. We only had the R30/31 Skylines in ZA. I used to follow the exploits of the Skylines in the magazines in the 90s after reading about the original Godzilla in late 89. I doubt there'll ever be another car like it.
I wonder if when the R33 came out Japan's economy had something to do with it as well. Plus when Japanese car people saw the R33, they probably considered buying a used R32 which was considerably less and you got the same power
It's just... *chef's kiss* It's a stunning car and it has the most likeable face, so to speak. Plus, its curves are so smooth and it just seems... elegant.

Might just be the way mine was set up in Japan I don't really know. Its been as reliable as my mk4 Supra, way different cars love them both.
I imported an R33 GTR almost 3 years ago and fell in love as well. Car is amazing, but just like you I wanted a series 3. To me I love the curves of the front bumper and the Rear lights. Not sure why it had gotten so much hate. I prefer this look over the R32, imo the R32 is more boxy and alot more ugly. That intergraded spoiler is freaking awesome!!
R33 all day & every day ❤️
Love the Nismo 400R & the R33 GTR LM Road Car
The R33 as Nismo 400R was one the best cars ever build!
I still got the original gt1 foe the ps1 and gt2 for ps2 laying around in immaculate condition.
I love the r33's looks. Not more than the 34, but much more than the 32 and I really don't like the 35 due to it's similarity to the 350z.
It's my favourite Skyline
For me if the R34 had followed the R32 I'd hate that the same way. It just felt like a bigger car compared to the 32s by the time the R34 came along we'd all got used to cars getting fatter. The R32 is and will always be the one to have imo.
Yeah R32 is king
I don’t think it’s hated it’s just never gotten the spotlight, it’s just a non popular middle child
sup
A really good trip down GRAND TURISMO ave.
I still prefer the GT-S but that’s because I’m a weirdo…lol
I will gladly take thr R33. Looks sexy
I've stood next to an R33. It's actually smaller than it appears to be on paper.
I often forget about this car. It's just not as obvious compared to the R34 and R32
Hated? I can't think of anybody that hates any skyline, let alone the r33.
Let me correct you. It's not an Initial D episode. It's an episode of WANGAN MIDNIGHT.
Bro I want a 400r but there's only like 20 of them 😭
When I was a kid, I actually liked R33 with Abflug kit
I own a r33 gtr v spec now, owned a 32 gtr before that… I adore my r33 personally I find it far more modern and nicer to own and drive
My most favourite and loved skyline other than the '71 2000gtr
R33 is faster round every track compared to 32 and many tracks they time trialed it against 34 too. Not many know that 👍🏻
It’s awesome. I love my 33
