Thanks so much for doing this. This is the first time I've seen a video from your channel, discovered it when I was watching something else and this came up as a suggestion. Subscribed.
cheers for the video wasn't going to bother doing it but kept noticing ratchets shoulders and started bugging me didn't notice it i watched your vid lol only took 10 mins and lined up perfectly
+Paul Lewis Someday, everyone will own a 3D printer. We will make the things we want, rather than buy them from the store. We will print our transformers parts and assemble them ourselves. We are ready for that task.
+CandleComics Thanks for the tutorial. But having the right tools doesn't mean that we can make the right things. However, you're just joking at the QC issue I assume:)
Thank you for sharing this. Unfortunately the video was no use to me, because whoever originally assembled my figure ruined the shape in the head of the screw which holds that spring piece in its place so badly that it is impossible to remove it. So, I cannot swap those spring pieces' locations.
CAUTION - if you do this (make the ratchet so it's NOT visible in bot mode) your vehicle mode will NOT tab together as cleanly. I believe Ironhide was actually assembled correctly, it's the new Ratchet that's going out wrong. Even the stamp on the parts indicates this. Only make this change if you're willing to sacrifice a clean car mode for a part of the shoulder you don't even see!
+youmongrel Good point. It makes me wonder if Takara made a mistake at all. Maybe they intended the figures to be assembled differently. I haven't seen a statement from them yet. This mod is worth a try if one can spare the time and enjoys this sort of thing. It should be just as easy to switch the parts back if they do not find the vehicle mode satisfactory.
I'm starting to enjoy your channel. I've watched a few of your "school series" lol amd it's quote usefull. So to do this fix here for Ironhide, it's so his shoulders can ratchet 360°, correct? because of thay block thay only let's you go 90° up? Do I have that right? thnx
This fix/mod does not change that 90 degree shoulder rotation. It does provide two benefits, but also creates one problem. The first good thing is that it hides the ratchet teeth on top of the shoulder, but the teeth are really tiny and they fit together very well, so hiding them is not a big deal. The second benefit is that it raises the shoulders about an eighth of an inch, which gives Ironhide a better posture/less slouching look. The problem that it creates is in vehicle mode, there is a little extra space between panels. I just found a good pictorial on TFW2005 detailing the effect of the mod on the vehicle mode. The post is from "Jarrod" and it starts in the middle of the page. www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/1054861-masterpiece-mp-30-ratchet-april-176.html Also, I recommend watching Paik4Life's video on performing this shoulder fix, as Paik dissassembles the shoulder in a better order than my video, making the disassembly and assembly a bit easier. I have a link to Paik's video in my video description. BTW, I just subscribed to your channel.
wow no comment? come on that joke was the best! lol not in the history of the world or anything but i still really liked it. whatever i'll be your first reply then even though it was a year ago when you said this. whatever shhhh
nice video, thanks for sharing! I highly recommend getting yourself a nice set of small screwdrivers if you do alot of this kind of work. I think you'll find it makes assembly and disassbly much easier. those cheap littlte drivers tend to strip out screw heads! :)
You're welcome. I really do need to get a good set of small screwdrivers. I just stripped a screw on Masterpiece Soundwave for a video I'm currently working on. In my defense, that screw was screwed in really tight.
Thank you. Several years ago, I was diagnosed with Essential Tremors. It's not life threatening, but might get worse with age. I will continue to do these videos for as long as I can.
+CandleComics hopefully it doesn't get worse for ya man. Keep up the videos. I've watched some more and I enjoy your videos. It's nice to have a video to turn to with repairs when needed. I'll keep watching!
I had thought about modding the waist, but had decided against it, until I saw an upcoming upgrade kit from a new company called Transfusion. tfsource.com/transfusion/tfs-01-mp-27-kit/
+CandleComics yeah, saw that one on tfw2005 boards a while back. Doesn't do any fix for Ironhides granny panties. Soon as I get the upgrade I'm going to change that though.

how much money do we pay for these things? And we need to do the corrections? lots of QC issue problems in China all the time not Non-Stop. and now they're raising the prices because of God knows what? We have quality control issues with these pieces of s***? I'm just glad that I don't pay retail. I don't ever buy knockoffs either. but it's still inexcusable for the stupidity of China. being made in the United States would never have this many mistakes over Japan. anything that used to be made in Japan or the United States almost never had any flaws and very few compared to the many flaws of China. not to mention they are lazy and take their time shipping items. They even stand on the boxes in their postal Department. I know this because I have a friend who is Jamie that used to live in China and works for the postal Department. he says the Chinese government is very messed up. then again our government is pretty screwed up but at least stuff being made over here is not being made like crap or assembled by idiots
I imagine that these toys are still being made in sweat shops by malnourished children who work 80 hours a week and only earn pennies a day. I would like the figures to be flawless, but I try to be zen about it.
Great job on this video. It's such a minor fix but really helps things a lot with his shoulders and the distancing. Thank you sir!
+optibotimus You're welcome. It was my pleasure. There's something about disassembling my Transformers that makes me feel like a kid again.
7:40 So that’s what was left of Ironhide after the 1986 movie
Thanks for posting this! I followed along and got my Ironhide's shoulders looking much better. Very cool!
+TerranIV You're welcome.

Can't believe the amount we pay for these items and they can't even put them together right lol
+CandleComics Thanks for the tutorial. But having the right tools doesn't mean that we can make the right things. However, you're just joking at the QC issue I assume:)

In the video the panels seem to tab together pretty well?
Mine tabs together absolutely fine after doing this, or at least as well as it did beforehand (lets face it, MP-27's not the cleanest tabber).
Hello I was wondering if you can do a tutorial on fixing his knee
Hello saw your video all I can say is nice..I have question my ironhides leg was damaged while being shipped to me is there any way to repair it?
Do you know where replacement parts are for the leg?
So i was wondering if you had an idea for a starscream torso fix.

are u going to do a fix video for more trust waist ?
That is a good idea, but I have many projects to finish before considering that fix.

My ultra magnus knee is busted,is there a fix
Not that I know of.
Should be
No offense, I thought I had shaken hands! Lol. But great video and good job. Subscribed.

Fun to tinker but mine doesn't need this mod.
I'm curious if yours doesn't need the mod because you like the pre-mod assembly or because the factory assembled yours like the mod?
+CandleComics it's tight and fits snug. The mod I'd be interested in is the waist mod that's rather extensive but makes a world of difference.
I had thought about modding the waist, but had decided against it, until I saw an upcoming upgrade kit from a new company called Transfusion. tfsource.com/transfusion/tfs-01-mp-27-kit/

CandleComics I am sorry saludos desde México
I'm not correcting you on the pronunciation of Daimchoc but I would like to point out that there is no such word as 'pronounciation'.
It's in the ballpark. Close counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and unscripted dialogue.
