    Hello. Thank you so much for your video. I made the most amazing pork chops because of you. I did buy some Roasted Garlic olive oil
    that really added to the flavor of the chops. Thank you again.

    I tried this right after watching. Didn't go exactly like your video. My chop had bone. Chop was perfectly browned when I turned it the first time so I did the same thing on the other side. I just had one problem.....I only made one chop and when it was gone I wanted 3 or 4 more! Best damn pork chop I ever had. I was surprised at how tender it was. Really good recipe. Butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. Simple, easy and delicious. I always thought grilling was better than pan frying, but after tonight I've changed my mind. I'm going to be eating a lot more pork chops.

    Looks good, but I'm wondering about using the tongs to flip over the cooked chops after they've been used to flip them over when still raw... I always worry about this - contaminating the cooked ones with something that touched raw ones. I always either wash the utensil well with soap and hot water, or switch to a clean spatula, fork or whatever you're using, once your meat is almost cooked... you're so careful and observant about contamination (like the cap on the oil), but I don't know if many people think of this way of contamination thru the utensil you use to flip/move them around or remove from the pan... just a little note for people to observe who maybe are fairly new to cooking, or don't think about this form of contamination...

    What heat are you cooking this on? I have an electric stove, and I always seem to mange to have the temp to high.

    • @TheKetocooking
      @TheKetocooking  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I ahve a propane so, i start out high, then go to med high. but this would vary wildy from gas, to electric, and from old stove to new. it's best to work with the heat, if you find things starting to smoke, its time to turn it down a bit.

    generously season
    first salt, all of it, rub it in
    secondly, a season on top of the salt
    salt is the first layer
    second layer should be cajun seasoning, then an Italian seasoning ( substitute for what you like )
    use an oven not stove top
    350-375 for thicker pork chops...
    400 for thin
    thick ones take 20 minutes in oven
    put foil on the tray, rub oil evenly on the tin foil...
    a piece of butter on each pork chop
    but on lowest level of stove, cover the pork chops with Foil ...
    after its done cooking, turn off heat, let sit inside oven for 5 minutes, take out, let sit for 5-10 more minutes,
    cut like a steak :) enjoy

    • @TheKetocooking
      @TheKetocooking  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not sure of exact time, I'd say around 4 minutes depending on the thickness of your chop. You want to keep constant watch, at a medium high heat they should be done all the way from room temp to cooked when the nice crust develops. its a skill, it takes practice

      Don't know how the laws and regulations are in the US but in most of Europe it's not that dangerous. In Sweden, where I live, every single pig is tested before being slaughtered and usually you are quite safe with just touching raw pork yourself. But of course, you don't want to drink the juices or anything like that from the pork ;)

      Salt is used in drying, but not in the quantites used in cooking. If you were salt drying meat you would cake it on tothe point that it was a crust.

    • @hypermagical_ultraomnipotence
      @hypermagical_ultraomnipotence 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Salt, especially if applied 45 minutes to several hours (or a day) before, helps you to dry out the surface, but also dry brines the chop-- making for something way more delicious. I either salt RIGHT before cooking, or 45m-a day. It dries out the surface, yes, but then when I slap that sumbitch down on a rippin' hot skillet it doesn't steam, it sears, crusting up with Maillard Reaction nice and smooth.
      I love me some dry brining.

I hardly cook my steaks but with pork I cook because of the greater risk of parasites. The only meat I will eat raw is salmon and steak, and any other sushi based meat.

    it's margarine too. In Kenya blue band is the most common one you can Google it and tell me what you think about it please.

      i am not a fan of margarine. Hydrogenization isnt good for you. I'm not sure if the flavour would work out, but i it has a butter flavor, it might work for you. your from kenya? thats interesting
