    Hi, by yoyo jigging, do you mean bouncing up and down under the boat? I have nothing against spinning gear for casting and retrieving. I’ll give it a try. If you ever take paying guests, please let me know. I’d like to learn. I have a Steiger 255 on order, twin outboards, coming in July. I’d like to learn more about fishing in the north. My prior experience was Chesapeake bay in a small boat and kayak/surf fishing.

      Yes so the "old school" style of just bouncing the jig up and down with long sweeps of the rod tip. Works very effectively, especially on bluefin near the bottom. Bouncing the jig in the mud mimics a sand eel. Also a nice break when you are exhausted from speed jigging.

    I hope this inshore yft bite isn't something cyclical, we're going on what 5,6,7 years of this, fish just keep getting bigger too. Although the fall night chunk bite isn't anything like it was in the 90s, hard to figure.

      Yeah then you also have the NJ/NY giant bite that’s like the 80s too that has come back. Then you have the wind farm surveys to worry about too… I really hope this doesn’t get ruined

    Hi, I use mostly small conventional reels with 6-7 foot rods. Do you see a problem with that for jigging.

    • @CFalicon
      @CFalicon  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No that should work fine. It’ll be harder to speed jig but for yo-yo jigging it’ll work great.

    Very informative video! What length of 60 lb flouro do you use on your jigging setups?

    • @CFalicon
      @CFalicon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually do about 15 ft or so, I've caught with much shorter but the longer length gives you some abrasion resistance and ability to cut back if it gets chafed.

    Great video. Just starting to try jigging for Yellowfin off the SE Louisiana coast. What brand, styles, weight of jigs do you recommend?

      8k and 10k Shimano twinpower, 50 and 60 lb braid, 60 lb fluorocarbon leader

      Thank you, what size leader do you recommend? 24”-36” ?
      Thank you

      For jigging you generally want to do 15-20 feet, for casting whatever length keeps the leader off the spool while casting

      Black Hole 250 and 350g, Centaur constellation, shimano type J and grappler are all great options

    how do you like the Onslow bay? is that their 27? Have a 2008 23 regulator, think you used to run one from some of your videos. Cant stand the FS. Consider Onslow bay for my next boat.

    • @CFalicon
      @CFalicon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I had a 2001 23 Regulator classic, great boat. This is a 2016 Onslow Bay 27 Offshore Edition. I think it's the best under 30ft center console on the market. The ride is fantastic and the build quality is top notch. I have no complaints about my Onslow.

      @@CFalicon could you post some more running footage. be interested to see it in 2-4 spread at 6-8s. I have a twin Yamaha 25 cape horn, curious how the difference is. How much do you have to adjust the trim tabs if people move around while on plane?

  • @johnholmes6897
    @johnholmes6897 ปีที่แล้ว

    Crowded? You can walk from shore to ship at 18 miles and walk back on different boats without getting your feet wet.
