@@CFalicon awesome man , enjoy! Def a bucket list state for waterfowl hunting. Maybe one day!
Thanks for bringing us along and sharing those tips ! Appreciate it !
That’s not Barnegat
Just a little west 😉
I do this but ive gone away from the larger bottom eyelet on the swivel and just use a standard ball bearing swivel. I had the hook actually come up and get stuck in that large eye a few times. They do make swivels with a solid ring inside the bottom eye but i havent found the need. If you splice the cord onto the swivel it takes no space essentially. Ill use 150lb or 200lb Shout cord spliced onto an Owner 120lb swivel and even then its fine.
Great shot great catch 😃👍
Fun on light tackle
They definitely are
Hi. I never tuna fishing before. I do want to. I have a 232 for boat. How do I start with. Rod and reel ect...if you don't might share. I live near Cape cod MA. Thanks for the video
You missed most of the birds there bud. Nice video I love teal hunting
@@FishHuntFamily123 last bird I needed for a limit😎
What size props you running
I think these were 17 or 18p reliance sds props but my friend has since sold the boat so not 100% sure
Are those Ghost Hunter rods one or two piece?
They are two piece with the joint at the forward grip.
Great fun on light tackle
What type of lure for the false albacore?
Hogy epoxy jigs work really well. That’s what was using here
Nice work Gents! Questionable gaff shot right in the meat.
Yeah that last one was no good but I also condensed that fight down from much longer via editing. Desperate times call for desperate measures
@@CFalicon You guys did a great job on that tuna!
was this at the resor?
No this was inshore of the resor. Like 15 miles or so
@@CFalicon nice it’s been a rough season so far hope you guys are doing well
Are Albie’s edible
Eh not really. Some people eat them but I just let them go.
I eat them there really good but I also eat tuna hearts. Also, if you want to check it out, I have a video of me doing so.😂😂😂
100% over bft. Put bigger hook on jigs next time. Great work 👏 👍
And the smell of a fresh mowed lawn ❤👌
Albacore love them !!!
That was today? Get the popper
This was Friday in the Hudson
Jezzz , im up here in Mass , i miss your Videos , keep them coming please !!!
It never gets old seeing these huge beasts out there
You interrupted dinner.
Jigging and Popping once you try it you NEVER GO BACK 😍🔥🔥🔥
sweet videos, nice to see you using Stellas, i have 2, thinking about another.....
Buy once, cry once lol
@@CFalicon exactly, i have the 14K on an Ocea Flex Drive (JDM rod) and the 4K FK for fresh water/Long Island sound. I want the 8K on an Ocea Quick Jerk (medium Setup) 👌👌
The 8k is a great size
@@CFalicon some day. Thanks man!!
@@CFalicon that will be my next one!!
I own a 24’ Hydra Sports CC. Holds 110 gallons of gas on a single Yamaha 200. I want to get into this type of fishing. I usually launch out of Manasquan. Any thoughts on the basics for me and the boat?
The first thing you want to take care of is your safety gear. Even 15 miles off the beach you want to have all the basics covered there. Next would be figuring out your fuel burn and what your safe range is. I would think you should be able to fish any of the typical midshore areas out of squan. I fished today about 17 miles from the inlet and there were boats much smaller than yours there.
@@CFalicon I’m new to the tuna game too. Roughly what is the area or the grounds called that are 17 miles off Manasquan where you tuna fish?
That general area would be little italy to the mud hole
good video thanks
Great video, always you catch nice size yellow fin tuna , very nice catch on spinning reel, how far out did you go fishing?
About 40-45 miles on this trip.
Ballyhoo way back?
One hoo one ronz tail
I appreciate you putting the gear on the screen. Any chance you can include the pound test and type as well? Thanks
Sure thing. My jigging rods have 50 or 60 lb Diawa J Braid x8 solid braid with either 60 or 80 lb fluorocarbon leaders and my popping rods have 60 lb Cortland C-16 hollowcore with twisted leader systems, 80 lb mono for the twisty and 80 lb fluorocarbon for the bite leader.
No it’s not a tumor! 😂 <•((((><
You’re the only one I’ve seen making this type of content. Very cool.
Appreciate it!
Great work 👏
Good to see the videos capt. Great catch. Curious what you use to determine when and where you are going to start your drifts..looks like you had p,entry of company out there, how many miles out were you
This was about 45 miles. I typically look for the most condensed birds and slicks in a situation like this. Another factor was marking the fish and getting a pattern of where on a particular lump they were holding.
@@CFalicon Awesome, keep the videos coming
Brother, love ALL your videos, truly exceptional in every way! Should you ever need a last minute crew member, I boat out of Waretown and will FILL your gas tanks! 😎 I'm equipped, and ready for Popping, Jigging, Trolling and Chunking. Tight lines, God bless and stay safe! 👍💪🙏
I remember this day, so many sick Topwayer eats, so cool to see these class fish inshore
Hopefully they show back up
How many hertz u keep ur sonar at?
I had it in High Chirp (150-240 kHz)
Nice!
Looks like a sick trip, great video
Another great video. Really appreciate the videos. I just wanted to ask you guys out of New Jersey. Is that where you're fishing at?
Yes, we're out of Barnegat Inlet, NJ
No thanks for the reply. Great information. Keep them coming b**** by Sandy Hook area out. That way my brother lives down there
Thanks for the reply. Sorry about that
Thank you!
Why aren't you swimming him.
His instincts lost batteries 🪫
Nice i heard the west wall of the hudson has been holding fish just to far for me to get there and back safely hopefully the midshore action heats up soon
I was out in the hudson today, 8-24-24. Not one single tuna bite. Marked a few at 400 feet. Had a blue/white marlin smack the spread, and then tile fished the rest of the day.
@1BigMistakee at least the tiles saved the day
@@CFalicon they're called trip savers for a reason!
thank you for making your lines tight. absolutely infuriating to look at a pair of outriggers with sloppy lines😂
for jigging do you use high gear or low gear reels. I'm trying to buy a TwinPower for jigging and wondering if I should go with the PG or HG?
For jigging the PG is best, generally the rule of thumb is high gear for faster line retrieval for casting and low gear for better jig presentation for jigging. I have caught with HG jigging before however.
@@CFalicon thanks so much brother. Love your videos. I think a video discussing this would be really helpful as there is no one on youtube or the internet who really discusses this. Keep up the good work!
Nice fish judging by the fog , I missed the action by 1 day.
Definitely sounds like we hit it right based on reports, hopefully they settle in
Nice i see There are some big ones getting caught out there the last couple of days but with the fog it looks unfishable especially for the guys like me with a 20ft cc and no radar🙈😂
For sure, the fog was horrible
@@CFalicon was this today?
@@pavetech6980no this was Sunday
@CFalicon nice please god I can get back out there soon hopefully this south wind switches up soon god bless and tight lines 🤙🙏
You mention braid brands, what's the PE# rating or how many lbs though?
I'm typically fishing 60 lb Cortland C16 hollow or 60 lb solid braid for jigging. 60 lb seems to give the best line strength to line capacity for 10k-14k sized reels. For 18k and 20k most guys typically go up to 80 lb.
@@CFalicon Cool! Thanks a lot!
Great video! You live in Waretown? I'm off Bay Parkway. Ready to crush the Tuna soon!
I’m up the ICW in Bayville but looking for a waterfront property in the Waretown area in the future!
Yellows and blues. Good job guys
