Owned a V6 challenger for almost two years. I can't tell you the amount of V8s I've raced that the owners were surprised at how quickly I got that sucker up to it's top speed. I took most of them off the line no problem. I got a V8 charger now, and it struggles to pull away from my V6 on a 30-90 pull. After 100 it pulls away pretty quickly though. Both are stock. Charger is a 2016 and the challenger is a 2022
And a lot weaker than the V8 these days. How often do you see V6’s out run cops? Keep your pants on. Everyone knows it’s a slow car and one or 2 decent cops chases won’t have people beating down the doors at dealerships to get an SXT.

But I also didn't buy the V6 to race. Nor did I buy the V8 to race. But the 0-60 for both really aren't that much different stock. And most of the time in both cars, I'm not even the one trying to race people. And I don't run from cops, I ain't stupid. Regardless of cylinders.

This one was definitely not a 5.7. We don't call them State Troopers here. Just CHP or Highway Patrol. Near where I live they're actually just bringing back Motor Officers as they disbanded them several years ago in some areas. The reason for the V-6 is fuel economy. CHP has the largest state LEO fleet in the entire country.

@ Well I’m from Atlanta! And GSP have 5.7 Chargers and GT 5.0 mustangs you can definitely tell the difference and hear the difference! And I grew up in Clayton/Henry so Clay Co Blackhawk unit definitely have V8 as well. Every state is different and this cop in the video definitely didn’t have a V8 and performed like a rookie!

Indeed. I used to drive a 455 firebird in the 70’s. That sucker had torque up the yin yang. Pre-radial tires you could sit and spin until the tires were gone. Fast in a line up to about 100, but it quickly topped out. Couldn’t handle for sh*t I think the rated HP was around 375 in modern measurements. My little 3.5 has the same amount of HP, is quicker off the line because of modern traction, and tops out much faster. A modern turbo 4 can eat an old school V8. Heck, I knew when I bought my Porsche in the mid 80’s there’d be a Honda out with more HP in 6 years. They did.

They stay distant from the car they’re pursuing to maintain a high visual horizon. The officer did just fine. Chances are that guy was picked up by another officer. The officer wasn’t as aggressive as they usually are

People always hate on a V6 if they have a V8. I had so many people run their mouth many year's ago about my "grandpa's" Buick regal while they drove their New 5.0 mustangs and IRoc-Z Camaro. They found out the hard way about my grandpa's 1987 Buick regal Turbo-T. They never got the respect of the Grandnationals but people who have no clue didn’t realize in 1987, the Turbo-T is exactly the same as a Grandnational except its available in any color offered in 1987 while the Grandnational was only available in Black. I'm 53 years old now and still have my Turbo-T with 82,000 original miles on it. Im very aware it doesn't compare to what these cars today are making HP wise from the factory but in 1987 the Turbo buicks were the fastest American production car available from 0-60, in the 1320 and they were the 3rd fastest accelerating vehicle worldwide in 1987.
