If you are referring to the parking lot that cop had jumped out of his vehicle and took cover. He had no backup at the time. Not sure if this is the incident you are referring to but not possible to move your car when you are not in it.

They announced this morning Johnny Ashando was charged with 18 felonies and 7 misdemeanors. DA says if convicted on all charges he could get 54 years in prison.

Im so confused , for almost 2 hours, the police couldn’t arrest nor stop the actual suspect who stole multiple vehicles, rammed into several innocent people’s cars and endangered an entire city, and they dealt with him as if he is just doing a minor misdemeanor, but the poor guy who had his car rammed into by the suspect gets arrested violently and had his face smashed and pushed into the asphalt as if he is committing a serious felony.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office was leveling the charges against Johnny Anchondo, 33, of Moreno Valley, as the chase originally began with Fullerton police.
Anchondo will face:
one felony count of carjacking
one felony count of first-degree burglary
eight felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon not a firearm on a peace officer
one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm
two felony counts of theft with a prior felony conviction of taking of a vehicle
one felony count of evading a peace officer/reckless driving
one felony count of resisting an executive officer
three felony counts of vandalism with damage of $400 or more
three misdemeanor counts of hit and run with property damage
one misdemeanor counts of evading a peace officer and driving against traffic
one misdemeanor count of brandishing a weapon
one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance
one misdemeanor count of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
He faces 54 years if convicted on all counts.
Anchondo was on parole -- for carjacking and evading police -- when he was accused of carjacking at least one victim and evading police Nov. 9.

I think the most egregious thing about this chase is the fact that they viciously slammed that innocent man into the ground, busted his nose, and arrested him. Meanwhile the perp gets paraded with tender care into a squad car while they waited on EMTs. Truly an LAPD moment.

How do you know his nose was busted. I didn’t see that. If it was I would consider that he had just been involved in a 2 car collision so I would not think the police caused it. Plus, I would more believe they had to hand cuff the car wreak victim for his own safety. I know some hot heads that if they were in that situation white rage would be driving them and they would have went straight and confronted the perpetrator. Maybe the officers were preventing that from happening. That makes more sense than to believe they pulled a car wreak victim out of a car, injure him and then hand cuff him for jail. That sounds dumb.

Update: The guy had a warrant out for parole violation. The owner of the truck has a go fund me started to replace his lost equipment he needs to work. The guy in the white vehicle was arrested (charges dropped) for obstruction. When told to get out of the way, he went to the back of his vehicle to get his family out.

They lie all the time. Watch a few of them. They go on about how close he is or how he almost hit that guy but he wasn't that close and nope he didn't hit that guy. I've seen it so many times. They weren't as bad this time but he was driving really well. It was wrong but it was impressive maneuvering.

I hope your empathy towards victims is not based on the loss of their possessions, which can be replaced quite easly but rather you carry about their health (from crashes) and mental state after they got robbed which can unfortunately be hard to regain when you've experienced traumatic experience. I do't know if the vehicle insurance that is required to have for all car owners is going to cover the cost of damages but i know the medical aid is very very overpriced there and can be a real long lasting issue for somebody who got in car crash caused by a maniac running from police. I hope the victims recover, both financially and most importantly get back to full health, both mental and physical.

He could pull in sideways and that Van would be stuck. Also where was swat and all that armor war vehicles? Even at the end!
Cops can't nor should they shoot at tires unless absolutely neccesary, and this situation wasn't one of them heres why;
1. The Bullet could easily miss it's mark (guns aren't as easy to aim as you may think) and ricochet
2. They were in a domestic area with people living in homes at the times he was cornered
3. Shooting a tire mid-pursuit has an incredibly low chance of hitting it's mark, as well as if it DID manage to hit it's mark, the car could spin out of control and hit pedestrians, other cars, a home, etc.
After all that and he still got treated better than the guy they smashed to the ground and arrested for what looks like him just jumping out his car after being crashed into at the servo then taken cover from the shooting.

Within 5 minutes of the perps running from the cops, a second squad did the pit maneuver, they arrested the driver and a few minutes later caught the passenger that had a weapon running through the backyards.

We all know the more ground you allow them to cover, the more chance of serious consequences. Many states will now not employ the pit if they are over 45 miles per hour due to risk. We have to tighten up our laws, our response to crime, and the security of society or we will lose everything. Simple as that!

That's too much like an intelligent thing to do. These cops aren't the best or brightest. Even at the gas station there should have been at least three cops blocking from the front. I'm surprised he didn't try to go through but I think he just got tired of playing with these clowns in blue. If there's any reason cops aren't respected much just show this video. The cops where trying to get the driver to move out of the way because his position was in the line of fire. He was most likely not cooperating not knowing how serious this situation is. You can see after they cuffed him, all of the cops that was by his car cleared that area, they were not positioned there for the car thief, they where there to get that guy out of the way.

I’m in disbelief that the cops didn’t shoot at his tires when he was still in his parking spot.
Stray bullet, they were in a neighborhood, still dumb though.
They also should've arrested him while he was taking the second vehicle.
They also should've gotten to him wayyy faster whilst he was taking the vehicle.
They also should've blocked the exit from the neighborhood better so he couldn't just drift around the cars.
They also should've been able to get him while he was morning jogging to those houses.

They are still being criticised for this poor performance that took the entire Police Department in their juristriction. Thankfully there were no fatalities, but the Lunatic Driver could have killed multiple people to reach his escape.

What I can't get over is that he had moved to the passenger side of the truck before it even dawned on the cops to COVER THE FRIGGIN' PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK! Also, once he was apprehended, in cuffs, in a cop car, really how many cops do you need standing around? Is there no other crime in SoCal that they anticipate for the rest of the evening? Don't they think it would be a good idea to get back to their regions so they're available in case there just might be more crime somewhere? Christ, there were multiple vehicles hit. Maybe they could go see if someone needs help. Apparently, it takes about 50 cops to put up yellow tape.
