In this passionate TEDx talk, historian and LGBTQIA+ activist Leonie Plaar makes it shockingly clear how new legislation in Florida and elsewhere is a major threat to the rights of queer people. She also points out what of us can do to embrace diversity and fight for our rights. Herself a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Leonie's work as an activist and public speaker is informed by her academic expertise in US-American Studies and her background in journalism. Through her work on social media, she shares access to her perspective to a broad audience, while simultaneously working with organizations and politicians towards more inclusivity both of and within the LGBTQIA+ community.
