I'll forever be a bandit lover, my original 97 I bought used with 60k miles on it. The S model, loved it to death. Now I have another 97 bandit N with 24k on it. With a 1216 kit, holeshot cams, headwork and jets. Great bikes!!!

I have a Bandit1200s 2002. I love it. Hooligan bike for sure. 1st through 3rd is a hoot!! I have a Delkevic can on mine with the DB removed. Jetted and Velocity Stack removed. DID and JT racing drive train. 20w-50 racing. 1st gear is brutally fun!! 2nd is fairly safe as it will do over 100 in 2nd gear!!! The motor is a technological marvel.

I can’t use first without it doing a significant wheelie , I’m a new rider tho idk if I’m doing something wrong , also my second in my 01 from my recollection hits something like 85

@@justinmclaughlin1953 I read that these bikes with factory size sprockets will do 110mph in 2nd gear. I have hit 105mph in 2nd gear on my bike and I was near redline so I believe it!

    Howdy Ken.
This is known as the GSF1200 Bandit here in the UK and actually uses the oil/air-cooled GSXR1100 motor (not a GSXR1200 as you stated) but with these Bandit 1200's the capacity is increased from it's original 1052cc to 1152cc by lengthening the stroke rather than boring it out so produces more torque.
Had two of these and as you demonstrated, they wheelie off the throttle with ease.
Not sure what power your baby there is producing but they produce a mere 100hp as stock but an extra 15hp is gained just by changing the stock exhaust alone so I am damn sure yours will be pushing out even more with those carb mods and pod filters.
    Another great review Sir.

I've got a 1996 Bandit 600S with Dale Walker's jet kit, KN airbox filter, and a yoshi slipon. Definitely not as pristine as this one but it still scoots! Very happy with it as my first "big boy" bike 😁
Has the zero gravity touring windshield, EBC front rotors, and a couple of other things I'm forgetting. Gonna throw a K7 GSXR1000 rear shock and some progressive springs on this summer

i just got a 2003 GSF1200S Bandit, such a cool bike. My first big bike, my other bike is a Suzuki RG150S so going from a 150 2stroke to a 1200 4cyl is mental, but i love the bike so much its actually really tame and comfy to ride, untill you open it up a little and youre going 220kph all of a sudden haha

So sweet to see. Decision Decision Decision. Bought one on fb MP. Could not ~ Not buy the bike. But now I guess I am KEEPING it. Bought to sell. Got the plate. New Hampshire. Hey, I am here at nearly 70 years old. Got it three weeks ago. So now. Here I am. Gonna start by draining the oil. The air filter manifolds are soft like glove leather. OOPS the odometer reads 22miles. For a 1998. Not a turn over. Can't be. Looks like maybe 20k miles. Paid (very little money ~ no title. and definitely tampered odometer) very little ~ a gift. So much fun. 💥

These bikes were awesome back in the day, we used to sell loads at the bike shop I worked at, the only let down I found with them was the soft as soft suspension when you really pushed them it would be it’s Achilles heel in comparison to a Yamaha fazer1000 which was much more planted

August 2022 I sold the brand new Suzuki GSXs 750 I bought because I got bored with it,as i also have a 76 water buffalo,& for the 1st time in nearly 30 years I was down to just the one bike,so while I had some spare time I was looking through eBay & came across a 97 1200N bandit, drove 16 miles to view it at Honda dealership,I ended up with a one owner bike who at 73 had decided it was getting too heavy for him to manoeuvre around, only done 10100 miles,so we struck a deal & I got £300 off the asking price because it needed a new tyre, 13 months on & I’ve not grown bored with this one

Very nice bike Ken. The half naked fairing on it. Still see the engine .Nice exhaust for the road .Easy slip off for wait reduction for road race. competition .Only thing is the brake lines aren't braided line and front suspension tends to be a bit soft from factory all and all red line bikes all day with ease amazing.Amagine riding the full naked 1996 7 8 bandit set up at 16 Rpm to 18 Rpm 🤣

They are not hard to find in good shape. I also bought one from an elderly VET. I got an 03 next model they made in mint condition with under 20k miles with tasteful mods jet kit, air filters, fender eliminator, levers, braided lines, slip- on, new chain and sprockets, new plugs and tires w/ all receipts for 2,200$. Original owner and guy was so cool he was asking 2,500 and took my 2,200 I told him I would come back with the rest and he said put it towards registration... youngsters don't think bandits are cool so there are alot out there for under 3 grand and they're an awesome sport touring bike with loads of torque down low all the way through the revs and sound great with just a slip-on. I really enjoy it all around.

Got damnit that bike looks great. I'm considering one I found close to me in that same color in great condition. I was thinking about going with a smaller displacement bike but I'm seriously tempted. My last bike was a 2003 FZ1, so this is right up my alley. Great video

Got a 2000 in gold with just 5000K on the clock. Bought it used with just 3200 original miles. Hasn't had it's first valve adjustment yet but I'm thinking of trading it it in for a TL R.

I'll tell ya. I'm thinking this morning with my coffee ~ sure, I'll watch this again. So there ya go, my comment. Course, now I'm going to AA meetings... To be clear, not alcohol. But I think I did spend $200 on cigarettes. (Now three weeks clean from nicotine.) So here I am, recovering from a MAJOR fbMP prank. I had a guy here who was going to absolutely buy my Bandit. He arrived early and hustle hustle hustle had my keys on the porch railing. ALL MY KEYS. That would include two sets of keys for my 95' Ford Ranger. Didn't realize till the next day that ALL KEYS were lost but didn't accept this until 6 weeks later. A February event. Anyway. I still have my 98' 1200 Bandit. And my 02' (oh so clean) 600 Bandit. And my 95' (vintage all original) cb750 Nighthawk. All three bikes acquired within a 3 week period. (AA meetings are helping). I will find out where you guys (Kaplan) are located. And just visit. Thank you. ~~~ Mr. Not Worthy, From New Hampshire. I love this video. My 98'1200 is black. My 02'600 is red like this. So sweet. Nice promotion. I'll bet this bike is "long gone." Thanks again. 👍

Also. It is not the easiest bike to get on to the center stand. Rather a chore actually. If you grab the rear handle you will break your plastic. I grab the passenger grab handle and get a little run at it. Not too bad once you get the hang of it. You can always muscle it with your right foot. It you can leg press 550 lbs or more, you can do it. If you are doing it less boots, your arch will feel it the next day. Not sure what it is. The fulcrum point, length, position. Not sure. Not easy like my K1200rs or GL1000 or any other bike I have ever owned. Small price to pay for such a great bike.
