I have had lots of bandits 1200’s. I currently own 4. First job I do whenever I buy one is replace the steering head bearings. They always need doing.

I've been subscribed a good while now but my 1st comment as I usually lurk lol, I'm currently rebuilding a bandit 600 mk1 which will be my first bike so if you do have a subscriber rideout I'd deffo be up for that 😁, I'm a car guy and been driving 19 years but thought I'd get a bike and do my Das lol just done my cbt now waiting for my 1st lesson on the big bikes so hopefully get the b6 up and running by then 🤞, I love your content btw and still have no idea how you don't have 100k+ subs

I owned a VFR 800 and a Bandit 1200, and the Bandit was cheaper insurance wise because it only had 98 hp compared to the 109 hp of the VFR - that's the main reason, here in Austria, why the 1200 Bandit is cheaper than the 800 VFR.

      @@PeterBachmayer-ProDrummer that's interesting!
Which bike did you prefer overall?? I imagine they both had pros & cons
      Thank you for watching!

@@accelerateyoutube To be honest, in my personal oppinion, the VFR was the better allrounder - though the bandit has a monster of an engine with lots of torque (which is the real star of the bike), for me, the VFR has better handling, better breaks (I owned the 2001 model) as my 2004 model Bandit. Maybe the breakes and handling improved for the last carb-gen of Bandits wich, more or less, have the same frame, breakes and stuff as the 1250, right?
The Bandit is more comfy, for shure - the VFR has a bit more of an sports tourer aproach.
The Bandit used to be like a "train" on straight roads, but a bit challenging in the twisties. That's where the VFR rules.
In the end it's just a matter of taste . I enjoyed riding both, but if I had to chose, I personaly would go with an VFR.

Passed my mod 2 yesterday and bought an SV650, insurance was £1000 as a 34 year old, bloody Cardiff!. I'd love to get a Bandit as a side project, beautiful bikes....shame they discontinued them!

10000 mile bike needs steering head bearing looking at or regrease and adjust maybe, also mentioned ride height lower. probably dogbones longer dropping ride height, ive done that and dropped the forks 15mm in yokes alot of people jack up back end to make em stear quicker reducing trail at front. lower back end increase trail making it harder dropping into bends so dropping forks a bit in yokes brings that easyness back with lower back end plus lower the center of gravity of whole bike.
