I hope to own one someday Sigma! You guys did great on this! I'm in love with the fp. Bravo! You released the fp L, but the original fp looks better to me.
You are correct about this being overlooked. It only recently showed up on my radar and I probably would never have found your video without searching for the FP. Great video BTW, and now for part 2.
I had my eye on it for awhile. Just picked one up. It is so lovely and unassuming and uncomplicated. once you get it set up to your liking it's such an organic little machine. It's one weakness is the autofocus, but I'm a vintage lens guy, so that doesn't matter in the slightest to me. Cinema is never autofocused.
I just purchased the Sigma SDQH, mainly for stills, landscape, panoramic, and infrared photography. I’m thankful you made this video, I’ll get this next year.
Nice one... love my fp, so much I’m always searching to se the latest content others are are producing with it like this. Look forward to seeing more 👍
This camera is nice but for photographing i miss a real EVF and a tilt display. That LCD Viewfinder is nice, but only when filming at eyeheight. It makes the FP to a telescope and it can barely be used at very low positions and over head in a crew. And i missed a grip that includes a bigger battery.
Thanks for the awesome video. How do find the camera as a still camera. Would you recommend it to use with M lenses just for photos or you think the banding and distortion are too much? Thanks a million.
@@adaptanything3074 You’re welcome! We gotta support each other, right? I’d say I’m split 50/50 for professional usage but I’ve noticed I’ve been spending a lot more time in Cinema mode. The 12 Bit RAW is just wonderful.
@@enricojakobsoriano 12 Bit Raw is definitely interesting! I made another video using sigma fp on my toy collection: th-cam.com/video/4crVNfkpIHA/w-d-xo.html My ohly complaint is that I have to generate optimized media or proxy when I edit. There is no way my laptop can run it without doing this step. AND it takes forever!
Hey thanks for the video! I've been on the fence about grabbing one of these and I was hoping you could help me: does the sigma fp have any internal compressed recording modes for quick shooting and editing aside from a 4.2.0 8 bit 100 mbps standard? I would like something that offers the in betweens of dng raw and a compressed mode internally. I hope that makes sense lol
Sigma does record MOV files (ALL-I or GOP compressions). It doesn't reveal any info about the color bit rate that it records. Sigma fp does not have any compressed RAW file. I am hoping next firmware update, Sigma can address this and give us more recording options.
It’s a too good to be true affordable camera that has left everyone disenchanted because there’s nothing to really complain about. It’s so perfect it’s boring. Lol. There’s a touch of aliasing that will almost never occur in your footage and that’s about it. It’s ultimately for people who are more interested in the films their making than their equipment.
@@adaptanything3074 Why mad? Did you know that the FP and FPL have the same sensor size and having 61 Mpix (L) instead of 26 (Mpix) means that the L performance in low light condition is much less interesting than the FP where each illuminated pixel has much more area compared to the FPL. It changes everything on my opinion. I have the FP version, it is an a Gem (and I chose it over the FPL despite the relatively moderate price difference between them) and I can tell you that no matter is the ISO setting I am able to have high shutter speed/deph of field thanks to the clean images at high ISO setting. FPL performs less good in low light but from what I have heard it is better for videos. I bought mine to do still photos and I am not too interested to make videos with it. Also, the dynamic range in FP is better do to the same reason, 61 Mpix would have made full sense if it was on a bigger sensor.
How much will building an editing workstation cost? I've a monitor that would be okay - but that's it. Okay, my keyboard and trackball would be up to the last.
Hey guys! I just uploaded Part 2 today! Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/Eac9xLwQo6Y/w-d-xo.html

Is there any adapter with built-in ND? :)
