This past winter I built a 45 lb r/d longbow - morado riser, bamboo laminations, fiberglass back and belly - for $130 in components, epoxy, and auto clear coat matte finish. Then made a bow quiver for $10 out of a yoga block and a flemish twist B55 string. String silencers were made from the center part of an old bungee cord (same as cat whiskers). Lastly I made a dozen and a half arrows out of a perfectly straight - and straight grained - Hemlock/Fir 2x4 with 15 growth rings to the inch that I bought at Lowes for $3.75. $42 for 6 Ace Standard 160g broadheads and $15 for a dozen matched weight field points. $83 total for 18 arrows. 500-520 g total arrow weight. They fly perfect and hit hard. Season opens here in NC in three and a half weeks. When you have the time, you can assemble a quality hunting setup for less money than a half dozen Iron Will broadheads cost.
