Hi, factory reset worked wonders on my 75" U8K! After the update, Dolby Vision looked so dark on Hbo, Disney, etc... Thank you so much! Greetings from Mexico!
I downloaded the u8k firmware update on 8/29/24. Huge huge improvement. The picture settings menu changed . The tv is brighter, clearer and it pops . Wow.
Yeah. Now it takes more steps to get to menu from the game overlay. Dark Detail no longer works as it used when gaming in HDR. No way to revert to old firmware. And of course no difference in original brightness as that was not an intention of the update according to my call to Hisense today.
this latest update made ONLY dolby vision dark on my 75U8K. But you're saying thats exactly what it fixed? I notice no difference in brightness when I turn it on. Just dolby vision is super dark, should i still try factory reset?
@24hourgmtchannel64 , I just updated 3 days ago (my TV Hisense U8K was more than a month ago without connecting to the internet) I was afraid that if updated is going to change the original settings, anyways, so I turned on the internet and the update showing me that I have to, so I did, because I couldn't shut down the TV, when I did the update it changed the Dolby Vision in the TV like channel 4 and when I watch 4k movies from my 4k player, also it looks dark and the colors as well not good, I try to change in Display & Sound (picture-color) but it said that not available (the only option say Native), but in non Dolby Vision the picture it looks fine even in 4k movies without Dolby Vision, I hope I can change going to reset as you mention here, thanks for the video.
my issue is that the latest update made everything dark. now when i’m scrolling through youtube or anything that auto displays the trailer i get a black screen and then everything becomes dark and it plays- when it ends or if i scroll to the next title it goes black, turns bright again and repeats. i unplugged and it fixed the black screen issues but it came back the next day so i’ve now reset to factory settings and it hasn’t changed a thing i’m so sad lol. all that work. 😭 any suggestions? prior to this past two updates my tv was a dream i’m debating downgrading to that firmware.
@jeffcunningham0389 That's completely up to your taste. On my U8K 75" with the IPS-ADS Pro panel, I set my contrasts and brightness in Dolby content to 100% because I like the brightness.
@@lassmirandadennsiewillja3943 Understood but it's really irrelevant. It's just what each manufacture will allow based on hardware and what their optimal interpritation is. Let me ask, which of all your TV's has the best overall picture regardless of settings?

@rileyrourke7442 glad it resolved the issue.

Yes, follow this video to resolve the issue and you should be all set.
So what is the accurate setting for peak brightness in hdr/dolby vision?
@jeffcunningham0389 That's completely up to your taste. On my U8K 75" with the IPS-ADS Pro panel, I set my contrasts and brightness in Dolby content to 100% because I like the brightness.
@@24hourgmtchannel64 what about for sdr
@jeffcunningham0389 it's all personal taste but I run mine at 100 brightness and 60 contrasts.
If you have a playstation turn off "HDR" in
Your settings it kills the color.👍
i have no dynamic contrast option in hdr mode since the update. cheap shit
Selecting one disables the other. It's either HDR enhanced or Dynamic contrast. I go with dynamic contrast on high.
not on my sony or panasonic i have upstairs. there, both is possible
