I seek the Seekers finding only last Jan 2021. I collected some of there videos and photos. I'm really charge on to fast years and feel 30 years younger yet I'm in my lasting years. Sometimes felt sad w/ tears as a bade of good bye to their youthful years (1960's) to the years today. Keeping the music of The Seekers and Judith Durham as the way to start and end the day is important to me now that I'm a tad older than Judith Durham. She always presents herself as she is - elegant, wholesome humble and down-to-earth. She truly is a beautiful woman that every man would want in his life and that every woman should strive to be. I just came across this The Seekers were my favorite pro group of the 60s Judith Durham has a voice like no other . Australians should be proud for having such a National Treasure like her.

On the piano I see the music for ''We'll Meet Again''. I would love to hear her sing this one as well as a few others that Vera Lynn recorded back in the day. Not many left from that generation but they certainly had some great music. Congrats Judith. jtk🍁

I really love Judith, and what she has given us. Also Helen Reddy. But l am quite surprised that Olivia Newton John wasn't the first Australian female artist to win this award. All equally brilliant, but Olivia had the longest recording career and the biggest international audience. PLUS before Olivia were 2 very famous Opera singers Dame Nellie Melba, and Dame Joan Sutherland.
Judith has so much more music in her system, but touring is no longer an option. Studio recordings and different magical collaborations are in her future. I sure wish she would get together and create some music with Paul McCartney. Still ample time for that, but distance is definitely an obstacle.
A beautiful voice but the harmonies of the other three and understated guitar and banjo riffs of Bruce Woodley along with the bass and rythm from Athol and Keith created a gestalt without which her voice alone might not have been enough to propel her to stardom. Her solo career never reached the heights of the Seekers but she was doing what she loved - jazz and that's not everybody's cup of tea, but if you're doing what you love do you need the fame? I think she is probably happy and that's what counts.
As for jazz there wouldn't be one fan in a thousand that have watched her singing jazz, without doubt the greatest singer of trad jazz of all time. Watch her singing Alexander's rag Time band , sister Kate, and many others. As to whether you like jazz is irrelevant , as you will love judith singing it.
Not a fan of Judith... Dropped all her bandmates and went solo because some greedy producer convinced her she would do better, when they were on the verge of cashing in big. It hurt all of her band mates financially in a big way. Sometimes we come to a point in life in which we can do what is right or go for the cash and hurt all our friends. She chose the cash.
If you don't have certain facts don't make such derogatory comments about on of most famous lays. I played for a long time with her husband Ron Edgeworth and he talked about how Judith had done her time and it was time she went in a different direction. Ron, a truely marvellous pianist and a super bloke said he wouldn't allow Judith to continue with the Seekers as he felt she had out grown that group. I never once heard him talk about money. I think your most humble apology would be appropriate, Wayne Moore, Brisbane musician Judith, if you read this, I'm so proud of you and I know Ron would be too, Wayne (Dr Jazz Trombonist)
