    They really underestimated the situation, should be more aware of it. Good work Nick and thank for giving us useful advices, so we can be more aware of any kind of situation.

    You didn't analyze the most dangerous thing... he's holding the doorman with his left hand, keeping him at the distance he wants while he is stabbing him. It's a lot more difficult when someone is holding you with the other arm.

    Love your videos man. I'm white and go to a pretty sketchy black high school and there's been a lot of stuff happen there. I feel very comfortable in many situations now because of what I learn from you. A suggestion for you next video is: what to do if you get cornered by 3 guys. This happened to me and it also got messy, but thankfully my teacher was able to stop it before it started. Love the videos keep up the good work. STAY STRONG!!!

    If you're unsure of a guy's intentions and you're still weighing him up, doesn't it make sense to stand at an angle / side on to him, to reduce the effectiveness of two of the commonest surprise attacks, ie. the head butt and the groin kick?

    Hi Nick im from philippines. Probably you can analize some robbery videos(using knife) here. Its pretty common for them to use knife.also its very nasty. I think you can help a lot with your realistic approach. Thanks a lot and keep it up :)

    Nick, take a Kickboxer or a Kyokushin guy spar with you. I'm really curious about that one.
    Yes, all will apply. I don't know :)
    I would need to try this my self in real life see on what I'm thinking would work, but like you said the first 2-3sec are the most important, which means that what I'm about to do is useless, since the attack is going to be *SUPRIZE*!

    Hey Nick I love your material. Great information on how to defend against a knife attack. I was wondering if you could do a fight analysis on the Bakari Henderson incident that took place? If not give your thoughts on what could have been done to save his life in his situation. From viewing a lot of your videos I think the biggest mistake he made was not having awareness as to how many friends the guy had with him, traveling to a unfamiliar country and not doing the his homework that the place they chose to hang out is know for frequent altercations and even how that part of the country might even feel about African Americans. Do you also feel that people should have awareness as to if they will get help from the friends that are with them? Here is the link if you haven't heard the story. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4699556/Video-shows-Bakari-Henderson-taking-selfie-Greece.html

    Nick why i feel like i couldn't block that even if i see it in time ? u are so damn right , awareness is extremely important because timing beats speed all day... but still i feel like i just couldn't parry/block that swing because of that weird angle

    • @ishimarumasato417
      @ishimarumasato417 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      StarSG-1
      Your right.
      Trying to prevent that hand by Blocking or perrying would be impossible.
      You are going to get stabbed or slashed.
      However, once u take a few, or hopefully just one or non if lucky.
      You keep fighting, however you do whether that's empty handed or reaching for your own weapon, to try to neutralize the threat, or to try to just get away from the threat.
      I acknowledged that if a knife is pulled on me.
      I'm getting stabbed or slashed.
      No ands ifs or buts.
      But I'm not gonna stand there and just take the knife.
      Im going to try to get away fighting or at least go down fighting.

    • @exe.m1dn1ght
      @exe.m1dn1ght 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm thanks.. i keep thinking why humans don't act agressively when they get stabbed? even IF they fight back, they try to punch or kick... agresivness is biting his fucking neck ,face,arm , spitting, hard punches to the neck and so on..

    • @ishimarumasato417
      @ishimarumasato417 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      StarSG-1
      Yes.
      And how well you use your body whenever you strike,perry,block,grab,pull etc etc.
      As Nick states before.
      Real fights aren't katas/forms.
      It's a constant state of motion of action reaction between the two parties.
      You got to meet their aggression with your own.
      using your training that hopefully has become muscle memory.
      Cause when ur extremely stressed when under attack, ur not gonna remember shit.
      That's where muscle memory kicks in.

    I'm no pro by a long shot.Just a avarage guy who lives his life.But the moment I saw that bouncer smoke I couldn't help but wonder how the hell did he even get the job.Doing something like that in such a situation is almost suicidal.So stupid.

    Many security gaurds have not even recieved any training in self defence. I know of many who are only employed simply because they look big but being big is no use if someones trying to stab you and you are not alert, know the proper ways to face your attacker or defend yourself.

    • @NickDrossos

    Always pay attention to the hands. As soon as the bouncer turns away, the thug's hands went immediately to pockets. That's the red zone. Always assume he has a weapon then. This is why the police say, "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!"

  • @NobodyCallsMeYella

    Nick contradicts himself initially saying you don’t want to be in the middle zone. Either be out of range or close enough to intercept. Fine. But then later he directs listeners to not be too far or to close and instead be in the middle zone……

    Watch the video carefully. Neither made any defensive move. It is proven that it will take 2.5 seconds to physically react to a surprise event. You will be stabbed. Get away as fast as possible. Knife defense videos on the Internet are BS. There is no defense against a knife attack.
