You can get pressure bleeders that you pump up by hand - they are so much easier to use than relying on a tyre. Had mine for 5/6 years and is still working perfectly😉

I have to say that was quite stressful to watch! I am now afraid to have a proper look in the engine bay 😂

We'll always get there in the end.... be careful looking to hard you never know what you might find. 👍👍👍

Cracking work! So fiddly and difficult but it’s paid off, you can finally move it around! Looking forward to the rest 👏👏

Thanks, it's good to have it move..... a relief nothing major is amiss seeing as it's not moved for years.

I had similar problems with my TF. I didn't use the flexible hose for this reason - plus I was worried a little about clutch feel. But bleeding it was a total nightmare, which was made worse be taking the master cylinder off to clean all the crap that was in it out. Pressure bleeding was the only thing that worked - those suction bleeding kits are rubbish even for brakes. Ended up using a fancier pressure bleeder than you got - one where you pump it up like weed sprayer.
The amount of fluid I went through was kind of hilarious, glad I used the standard stuff instead of the fancy silicone stuff I considered. All-in it was a much harder job than replacing the timing belt!

Thanks Ollie, I was with you until your comment re cam belt.... this was bad but not that bad. 😀

I bought an Eezibleed years ago and it worked quite well , but when I needed it again, it was lost somewhere in the bowels of the garage so I bought another cheapo one from EuroCraParts and it was terrible - leaked from every joint and didn’t come with a cap to fit my master cylinder 🙄
In the end, I used a broomstick wedged against the seat to hold the pedal down then opened the bleed nipple. Took ages but it did the trick.
PS Hope Mrs Exhausted didn’t see the pipe flaring/bending!

used eezie bleed for years ignore 20 psi and use 32 psi set it all up with no fluid in to check for leaks add your fluid and bleed do not remove pressure as you were doing until bleed nipple is closed

Fantastic progress, almost on the road! I have just bought a pressure bleeder to do my car, it has a pressurising handle like a weed sprayer - might need a bit of luck to get it working as i have the old underfloor master cylinder...

Thanks, it's taking far too long with the dark nights, rubbish weather and the wife booking in far too much Christmas family stuff.

I'm not sure at the moment, not had time to dig into it. All I know is it was fitted by Trophy Cars about ten years ago.
I think I might be doing lamba sensors soon so will have a look closer.

Banjo fittings and flared male pipe fittings are not inter-changeable - your banjo bolt may well be bottoming out on the bottom of the slave cylinder port and hence you’re not compressing the copper washers - you need to use the correct male fittings and throw the banjo bolt pipe away

I checked for depth all good, and all sealed and working great now.
