I don't know how long I have had my G-7900 , but I have had it for I would say more then 7 years. The wrist strap broke recently but I just ordred a new one from ebay. Works like new still.
If I had someone replace the battery for me on a "professional" level and I was to take off the case back and see how dirty the rubber seal crevice was left, I would not be very happy. Leaving the seal stuck to the case back and re sitting it like that is the best way to damage the seal especially squeezing back on to all that dirt inside the crevice. Just as well they have been doing professionally for 10 years. Thats disgusting. Do it yourself and do it properly.
Ffs guys, use surgical gloves, take the rubber seal off the case back and clean it . Also clean the crevice out before re sitting the seal in its place. You will notice how filthy the rubber seals crevise/channel is. Then clean the case back before screwing it back in. Check if your watch doesn't need an AC reset first.
Too blurry and the little I can make out is covered up by his fingers, my advice: review recording before posting, make sure is focused and point at the sections to be poked with tweezers before you obstruct the view.

I have the same watch but there is a sticker on the battery cover that says “After battery replacement, contact AC with (-) using tweezers” which you didn’t show on your video. I’ve changed the battery but can’t get it to work as I have no idea where the AC & negative is to contact with the tweezers.
Please note that if you have the solar charged version, you need the Panasonic CTL1616 battery and not the battery mentioned in this video. If found out only when I had the damn thing finally open... Also a pity that the video doesn't show how to actually remove the battery, since the watch has some kind of frame that holds the battery and I only could open that with force - probably not how it supposed to go...
Now I have a question g7900 battery is going out because the light isn’t bright anymore and now when I push the light button the watch goes blank. So I took it to the place where they replace watch battery and they put a new battery in everything worked fine but when you press the middle button for the light didn’t work. The button on the top right side of the watch was the light and that isn’t supposed to happen can you please tell me why it did that? And what went wrong when then change the battery. So what I did I made them put my old battery in and now it worked like it supposed to but the battery is still needs to be change. Can you please help thanks.
Did you ever figure out a solution? i just had my battery replaced at a jewellers and its doing the same thing you described. Also, its displaying all the international places as times like 94:28. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you said you're a professional ?? lol, I gotta laugh hard you didn't even clean the backplate or even remove and use silicone on the rubber gasket to secure waterproof, not to mention you were pushing the plastic cover so hard almost breaking the alarm spring and you call yourself professional with 10 years experience give me a break, you have zero experience .

Thanks for the video... taking out the battery, especially opening up the clasp was difficult for me.. it was not clear. eventually I opened it up.. also, pulling out the battery was not straight forward as well.. otherwise, the video really helped me to finish my job.. Thanks again..

Surely you should have removed the rubber gasket, cleaned it and installed it into the watch side to ensure it fits properly?
