After all the recent releases I did some thinking and decided to get another Paperwhite (the signature edition and its wireless charging didn't make sense to me). Once the Oasis upgrades to USB-C I'll get one too.
I agree. I love the oasis, even with the bad battery life but the micro USB was a terrible idea. Hopefully they come out with oasis 4 soon. Enjoy your new paperwhite!
There was a lot of talk about an Oasis 4 at the end of last year. But I have not seen anything lately. It is a shame because a few updates would make the oasis an awesome option. We can only hope for an upgrade this year and a cheaper price.
I just ordered a Kindle Oasis 3 and will arrive in a few days. You mentioned that the battery life is not great for this product. I am wondering if you download and listen to audiobooks using this device? I am thinking about maybe not using it for audiobooks and that might extend the battery life a little bit. Could you please advise. Thanks in advance!
I usually do not use it for audiobooks. When i timed it I got just over 10 hours of screen on time. So I was not charging everyday but I would have to bring charger (a micro USB charger!?!) if I went away for a long weekend though. I still love the form factor and the buttons but the battery is disappointing. I had same issue with Oasis 2. I think Amazon gives you 30 days to try it out, so put the battery to the test before you decide. I will heed your advice and see how the battery life of my Oasis 3 works out for me first and then maybe consider Paperwhite Signature. I have always read with the Kindle app on my Apple devices. The Oasis 3 is my first Kindle e-reader and I really like that it has buttons and the quality feel, so hopefully the battery life won't disappoint and I can keep it. Just so you know, I also ordered the exact same case that you use sold by TECHRAME on Amazon yesterday after watching your video. Looks like the perfect one for me. Greatly appreciate you sharing that video too! So hopefully I will like both the Oasis 3 and the case when they arrive. 😊 Thank you again!
Well now you are locked into the Oasis! I do love that case though. I looked a long time for that kind of case and do actually get compliments on it sometimes. I also do love the Oasis, main cons are the battery and micro USB charging, if you can see past those things it is great. Either way going from the Kindle app to an actual kindle will be a big change. I have read so many more books since getting a kindle, it is just easier. I hope you love it!
10 to 12 hours of battery life for 24k.. I'd rather buy an android tab which is way more cheaper 😒 Even basic kindle gives just 1 day battery if i read enough daily.. They lie a lot.. And research isnt too sure about blue light harming eyes.. Using builtin light bothers me a liot.. Cuz it starts looking like a phone.. So i guess ill use phone for now... Basic kindle is enough for me as of now just that it has 3 gb space left and i have only 1100 books on it... The way amazon says 8gb can hold 8000 books is just marketing tactic

Agree that battery life is definitely as issue. I had several kindles and the Oasis is by far the worst. That's a lot of books!
The web browser is pathetic.The BBC site is in a foreign language that I can't fathom and don't see a way to change it.Anybody know?
I feel like the web browser is a gimmick, it's terrible. I don't know how to change the BBC site. Sorry.
