    Ball should have a censor in it that doesn’t change or mess with the ball itself and have clear clarification if the ball ever crossed at all the goal to goal we’d know that way same with kicking FG even if it goes higher than the uprights

      That's not even why Payton was upset, because that play worked. He was mad about the penalty that negated the TD. He was yelling at the refs, but they ignored him, so he took his rant to Russ. They asked him what he said, and he told them it was none of their business. He probably had a few choice words to say about the refs. Do you think he's going to tell the media what he said? They asked Russ and he said that it was nothing, he was just frustrated by the penalty.

    Coach Payton lost his mind. He had the red flag and could have thrown it. The pass, I would not have thrown the red flag since The ball was at the goal line. But the 2nd down play, I would have thrown the red flag. Going after Wilson like that was classless. Wilson was playing hard and was playing to win. Ripping him was a good way to kill a QBs confidence.

      I didn't see it, but based off of this review: what if Payton said "slow down, we may challenge" and Russ got to the line And thought we can get in...then does get in only to have it called back.
      Paints a picture where neither Russ or Payton are particularly wrong, and if the line is onsides, or the flag doesn't come they are both OK with thr result. Also possible the Payton is saving Russ saying he doesn't want to challenge the spot instead of throwing him under the bus.
      (As a Minnesotan I feel dirty defending Payton, hope he gets fired and never coaches again.)

    Russell was trying to save the clock, hence the quick snap. If you wanted to take time for the upstairs crew to garner a possible challenge, the first play was the one to challenge. The entire series from Denver became rushed and botched. Sean was irritated and wanted to vent his frustration because the series simply looked terrible. His opportunity to challenge the first goal line play was lost. It happens, but venting on your star QB doesn’t push the blame or fault away from the coach, who ultimately needs to take responsibility.

    Sean Payton also has to think what does that do to Russell's psyche? Some people check out if you criticize them let alone yell at them. If Russ was having a bad day it could have really went left but that's not the type of guy Russell Wilson is he's a real composed guy. All I'm saying is him snapping like that could have motivated him or could have made him play a little bit more nervous or cautious or something like that but Russell's a veteran so he handled that situation with extreme composure.

    As a Lions fan, it's really weird to have these calls go in Detroit's favor. The fact that Payton didn't challenge the first non-touchdown is crazy. The offsides was a gratuitous call as well. Every game you can see a tackle step back before the ball is snapped and it's never called. Either way, great win for the Lions.

  • @MichaelNelson-tz2hv
    @MichaelNelson-tz2hv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It's a tough game with incredible athletes and the way the ball bounces or the decisions of coaches and players vary wildly and all of these reasons are why sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Wilson still is one of the best to ever play the game and pulled out many wins for teams over the years. For them to go after him when things don't go their way shows the level of pressure to win and the coaches ability to remain calm and accept that fact. I'd say give the players better plays to run and see how much that helps....

It's about what the yelling means. It's about his coach trying to shift the blame for his failures. They never threw a single pass on the goal line, so why go at Russ. Every good coach and leader will own that moment, not show up someone. Even if he was going to tear into Russ, why do it publicly then double down on it in the press conference. As a man you don't do that to another man, not to say Russ is not but this time Russ should have went back at him. If we gonna do this let's do it with respect or after the game me and him would have had a long talk about what's going to work and what's knot.

    I've been a Broncos fan since 1987, after how this coach has come in and treated Russell the way he did I'm moving on. Not sure what team I'll root for but it won't be the Broncos..

    It is not appropriate behavior from Sean Payton. There is the whiff of arrogance and superiority about the man especially as it relates to Wilson this year.

      I agree, many of Sean Peytons comments and behaviors should be private. I've lost all respect for him.
