My favourite thing in the movie is that it avoids the “carrying a pane of glass across the street” trope by smashing the guy carrying it instead.

I'm always disappointed in blu-ray releases of old movies without any special features. Then it hit me....studios should hire you to create the behind the scenes
for these old movies. You manage to pack so much interesting information in such a short period of time...Incredible...Always look forward to your vids.
    Keep up the great work.....

Me too, although i am dissapointed with ANY blu ray of any decently budgeted movie not having any extras. It used to be that even straight to DVD movies would sometimes have hours of extra features. A early 2000's TV movie starring James Spader called alien hunter had some very good extra features.

    • @dash4800
      @dash4800 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

i think studios realized most people dont watch them so they stopped caring. I remember when blu ray came out on of the biggest selling points were all the features you could pack in it. And for a few years every blu ray had deleted scenes, commentary, inerviews, making of, etc, and always came with like 3 discs and a nice slip cover. But now you just get a bland case with 1 disc and a commentary if you're lucky.

@@raymondleggs5508 Yeah man, The Hidden is deffo a goodun
and hey if you like fun 80s 'creature features' then C.H.U.D. (from '84) has really fun, laugh out loud commentary from John Heard / Daniel Stern (who both also were later in Home Alone together, in 1990) + CHUD's director etc......Where they're all full of jokes and great 80s showbiz stories, it's like a hang-out commentary! It's my fave extra feature 😸_👍
(Also: Big Trouble in Little China has a good one too, it's just John Carpenter and Kurt Russel hanging out together, joking and giving funny inside stories of all their movies together)

It really nailed the emotional aspects well. When Beck has to gun down his friend, they established their friendship well enough that you really do feel sorry for the guy having to do it. I’ve missed being able to look forward to these every Monday. Thank you for everything and I hope the troubled waters which we all swim have given you a place to rest for a short time.
Just know you’ve done something special here which goes beyond words.

Such an interesting film... going to hunt it down! Haven't been inspired to watch a film in a while, till now.
PS: And, yes, _'Summer Schoo'_ is an awesome film. It was always on tv back in the '90s; tv isn't the same anymore, among other things.

Saw this in the theater and was shocked at how entertaining it was. It had little to no promotion, and there was no internet so it was going in and not knowing what you were getting.

I saw this in the theater and was blown away! I knew that right then and there we were going to have one of the best Cult films of all-time. They could've made this into a real franchise, but I always thought that Newline just blew it off...

So glad my favorite channel is back! You know Premarin, or pregnant horse urine, was marketed to curb natural bone loss-- it was soon taken off the market and made the butt of a huge lawsuit for causing endometrial cancer.

I remember seeing this in the local cinema and thinking it was a pretty good concept: an alien cop tracking down an alien criminal on the lam. I thought Kyle MacLachlan nailed the alien policeman role; he knew how to "Uncanny Valley" before anyone knew what it was.

The Danish title of the film is “Dødsruten”, which can be translated to “The Death Route”. In Danish, a “dødsrute” is when you go from one bar to another and yet another, drinking yourself into a stupor (or death). It makes good sense with the alien who lives for excess and goes from one extreme to another.

I first saw this weeks ago under the beheast of my friend, said it was like The Terminator meets Body Snatchers. Watched it a d was really impressed, I loved the casting of Maclachlan as this contrast between his role on Twin Peaks and this. It was really thrilling and was a great on off sci fi schlock take on consumerism.

Saw the film broadcasted on tv back in the late 80s or early 90s. I had no idea what the movie was about, but when I saw the AWESOME car chase at the beginning I was like “whoa gotta leave this on!” Then the hospital scene happened and I swear I had nightmares for like a decade.
