How to Beat Sekiro in Under 1 Hour - Any% Speedrun with Walkthrough Commentary

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been out for a few weeks now, and as a variation from our Sekiro boss rankings, I'll be uploading a few Sekiro Speedrun tutorial videos. Today we will be running the Sekiro Any% Shura Ending route with more accessible strategies for new runners. We'll grab more gourd seeds, avoid skips like bull skip and monkey skip, and still beat Sekiro in under 1 hour.
I originally set out with a goal of hitting under 1 hour with this route and then doing more advanced skips, but it was clear after a few runs that sub 50 minutes was possible. sekiro isnt super solid in its atmosphere,environment design and lore but damn it has the most fun bosses ever.owl,super owl,ishin,butter fly,demon of hatred ...
alibert varmeziari Atmosphere and environment is amazing. The world is the most connected out of any of the games. Once you unlock diving, there’s so many pools that lead to other areas. Atmosphere is really good as well, unless you hate Japanese stuff.

@@octaviogonzalez8794 even if you may hate it, gimmick boss is essential change of pace. Plus it is a breath of fresh air to have a different type of boss that is not necessarily hard
bobby payne eh. The fact you can launch just about anywhere and blitz through the levels means that there isn’t enough time to soak up the details and really connect with the individual levels like in DS or BB

I don't speedrun, but this definitely taught me a few things about some of the bosses that I will try to implement in my NG+ run.

i just saw a speedrun of distortion2, the world record, i think it is something like 33:26, and there is just such a huuuge diffrence between the meta, and something that everybody could try. and i love it, cause i allways needed to make myself own routs which are managable and not punish failure, like the meta, where when you die once, you basically have to restart the run. so i love your vids for envolving us normal mortals. thanks

Finally got the chance to watch this and I was worried that the Bull Skip was going to be included (I spent SIX hours straight trying to practice it a couple days ago and did not succeed in the jump a single time) but this is a run that I REALLY want to because the run in this game looks so fun
I think you would love the game furi, its just boss fights., learning patterns, reflex based, made to be speedrunned (theres a mode for it), guy you play has a katana, and you have similar gameplay when it comes to timing deflects/parries, plus the music is just so good, you should check it out.
Surely demod has played furi. Because if not then he's missing out on a great game and great potential for content in his channel.
Guys, something I've found helpful when learning the bosses is to use bite downs and the hidden tooth near the end of a boss fight if I want to learn it some more. It definitely saves using save stayed for consoles!

i didn't know wether i was going to try my hand at speedrunning sekiro, i did speedrun all dark souls and bloodborne (don't have a PS3 for demon's soul, shame on me) and i got some really good times, but for whatever reason i didn't get that fire in me for speedrunning in sekiro, but this video convinced me otherwise so thanks for lighting my inner speedrun fire

Have never tried speed running. Needed the Shura ending for Platinum. This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you. I couldn’t get the Gun Fort skip to work and I’m positive I did it correctly. Has it been patched, or can it take multiple tries? I tried three times for the record.
With headless ape, I always do a charged flamethrower right as he do the blood spill thing and do R1 to set my own sword on fire, that slashing action stops the terror scream before you build up more than half terror.
The battle with Tomoe would have been awesome on the castle roof with the lighting, rain, and moonlight.. if your gonna do it set it up right ;)

Been playing the game for five hours and just defeated the Shinobi Hunter, 15 minutes into this run you've killed 2 bosses I've never even seen and gone someplace I didn't know existed.

The DS2 speedrun vid reminded me that these came out before I had done Shura, so I'm watching these again and all I want to do now is play Sekiro. Problem is I have Sekiro on Xbox one, and brought the PS4 to college lol

It should be noted that Emma can also sometimes backstep and your Ichimonji will whiff. She'll respond in kind.
I found the chained ogre to be extremely easy. One of the few bosses that playing defensively actually works against. If you sit back and wait to dodge his attacks you get some free hits. It takes a while, but it's effective.
I like how the unlock strat on the ogre is "new" well was new when it came out but i was using it since day one

With the gourd seeds, there's a hidden passage between kuros room and the shrine.

Well I’m glad I got to see the god run somehow, since someone had to stream it at 6 in the goddamn morning.

Took me a couple hours to replicate this, but I wasn’t really trying to speedrun, just commit to finishing the game. The only thing I couldn’t do was make the snake spawn, so I did the Gun Fort.
I hope a boss rush mod comes out for this game cuz so many bosses are just fun in this game with owl being my most fun fight personally.
Have you tried using the Mist Raven Pos at the dried heart Part, it seems to be safe but not use if it saves on time

Isshin Ashina reminds me of the Deep Princess fight in Etrian Odyssey 3 where if you're fighting this final boss you're an asshat
White snake is not spawning while trying the contract medicine method from Sunken Valley Cavern. Is it patched? Or am I doing it wrong?

So demod I took out my first real boss gyoubu oniwa (on first try) and he was an exiting fight eventhough I still start ed the game but his spears can be blocked and deflected for me at least but then horse started jumping like a madman on joy candy so i got stomped but managed to get away and heal myself and this boss lives to the hype of the trailer which I saw for sekiro just AWESOME!

As someone who always takes their time with games and is obsessive about doing basically everything in a game, the idea of Speed Running anything terrifies me on an existential level. It's pretty crazy that the speedrunning community is capable of dissecting all the skippableness of an entire game that was released like 2 weeks ago. Like the fact that you can skip the entire gun fort area like that is crazy.

There's actually another way to skip juze and get straight to genichicro, I can't remember how but I did it. No glitches, just accidentally went to the top.

Joe Smith I really enjoy fighting the divine dragon for how epic it is (Especially the last attack) even though it is super easy
its a spectacle fight and a good one at that , actually getting a fight with a dragon right is extremly hard , i personally prefer the spectacle versions

i looooove the divine dragon. because, yes it is a gimmick boss, yes he is super easy, but it doesn´t matter. the lore, the visual design, the epicness, the music, the sheer beauty of the fight, makes this boss truly unique and not just an dragon boss (no offense to you midir, khalameet, i love you) i mean, after things like bed of chaos, yhorm (even i like yhorm) and wolnir, it is nice to see a gimmick boss that still manages to be cool a shit, is fun to play against, yet still beeing somewhat of a puzzle. 9,5/10
